I mean that there could be a tradition to fuck all aliens to combine their DNA with your race for more powerful units or something. Or to leave a small percentage of their population alone and use them as lab rats. Now that would be a twist haha.

Looks like it. I am trying to figure out the balance of all the new types of buildings now. Like how many housing units, resource generating buildings, and districts.

A thought mayhapse. What about traits that permited rights that are not normaly avalable to your empire?

 

For instance delicious or maybe "milkable" could make it so you can keep a pop as livestock even if you arent a xenophobe.

 

Another thought is in submisive you could make those pops slaves even if you are egalitarian. And if they are not slaves or slavery is not legal then they would create a faction calling for the legalization of slavery.

Different trees for different types of sex? Oral tree with some diplomacy; anal tree with some production... You could go for different fetishes and taboos as well.

My preferred play style is Xenophobic, but seems all the kink traits I like are geared towards xenophile. So a lot of my games are just a bitter civilization salting the earth of planets out of frustation. My pops can't like xenos if there are no xenos.

You sir are a great man. I don't leave home without this mod anymore and if you are even remotely looking at making your stuff compatable with things from this mod then all the better.

One of my funnier games involved a race of inward perfectionist/ Life seeded/ authoritarian flying monkeys. They had the small penis malus and all the rest of their traits were things like incompatible womb; Huge breasts; Dripping Vaginas; etc. I was fighting ethics deviation all game, but I loved the idea that the females of the race were increadable sexy and promiscuous, and the males were desperately trying to keep the xeno scum from making off with their women.

I had an idea for a civic: Pleasure Hive

 

It would basically be like Rogue Servitors for robots but for hive minds instead. They were all created during a golden age of hedonism and they occupy the same role in game as RS but their Bio Trophies would give them growth speed as well and you could call them something like "Bio Wombs".

I like it. Was trying to figure out how to make the Gestalt Conciousness' civics a little less bland. Only thing I might add is I don't think the "biotrophies" would be all that happy about this arrangement; were you thinking of keeping the high living standard aspect of rogue servitor?

 

The other idea I had was a civic that granted a new invasion CB for hives; "Mating Season" that gives the hive some benefits for capturing planets and a unity/society tech boost per xeno pop acquired in the peace deal. Combine them together and you have a more aggressive version of the RS robots who acquire their Bio wombs via invasion. Maybe throw in some kind of incentive for having a wider verity of distinct species all producing for you?

For Gestalt-Caretakers there should be shitloads of sex-themed buildings, edicts and technologies.  Just look at reality - we're finally on the verge of making functional automata and what's the first thing we humans start doing?  That's right, sex robots!  Now fast forward a hundred years and imagine what it will be like.  We'll have Gen-3 Synth strippers before we even make it to C3-PO.

 

Meanwhile I have some ideas:

 

1: For-Profit Brothel (for Megacorps) that increases Happiness and Amneties.

2: Public Brothels for Xenophiles that increase Trust Cap and Happiness.  Worked by Specialists.

3: Slave Brothels for Xenophobes that lowers Trust Cap and the Happiness of the workers.  Worked only by slaves (ergo, your captives).

4: Better fertility rate traits.  Simple traits with massive effects, either +100% fertility or -100% fertility.  Since fertility can easily shoot up past 100% to begin with, -100% would not be sterilization.  Think "Krogan Genophage."

5: Unique trait picks dependent on Ascendancy Perks and such.  For example, Gestalts and those who convert to robot bodies could get unique robomodding traits that regular, "side pop" robots could not.  Likewise, Evolution Masters should get unique (and powerful) traits as well.

6: "Temporary Visa" diplomacy option.  Easier to get than migration treaties, these would simply allow your intercompatible sperm/womb trait effects to cross borders even if your people don't actually move anywhere.

7: "H1B Visa" diplomacy option.  As above and you can recruit Leaders from the other faction (and them from you).

Given that there's 'all female' and 'all male' species traits, would it be possible to add an 'all hermaphrodites' trait? It could confer a pop growth bonus, as opposed to the penalty for the other traits, but maybe have a high point cost to balance it out. Or maybe add a tech or gene-modding option to create hermaphrodite pops?

 

I'm really new to the game, so I'm afraid I'm not too familiar with how everything would work, but I think it would be a fun idea to throw into the mix.

so, i went one hopping to get some of the hybrid events to fire so I made an all female race with the entercompatible womb trait with the civic that starts you off with a lesser species on your planet and had about 4-7 hybrids with in the first decade. 

 

the reason why 4-7 is because i reloaded the game multiple times. To see if there was different out come

all hybrids were from ssx races as the 2 parents were ssx races

however some hybrids had -31 trails points (so alot of traits) as well as they different climate preferences.

I've actually been trying to create a proper syncretic evolution variant for hive minds for one of my workshop mods. However, while getting the empire creation menu to show up for the secondary species is easy I can't seem to figure out what I'm doing wrong to get the actual pops to spawn on the homeworld.

 

Would be nice to have though. Both so hives could actually take immediate advantage of intercompatible traits, and for any civics to expand hive gameplay.

Thanks for all the hard work you have done and continue to do for the Lustful Void. And I look forward to the content you add to it in the future.  I don't really post much if at all haha but I did want to thank you, this mod makes Stellaris games for me so much more interesting, especially with randomly generated species I like to play with. Having a randomly generated hive mind with negative 50% pop growth speed has been really interesting.

I really like this mod and the RP potential it brings to Stellaris. However, the lag that the events introduce becomes brutal in the mid to late game (multi-seconds pause on the first of every month), so I really hope you're able to remedy that.

 

As a stopgap measure, could you make the options to disable the events not be locked behind having the related species traits within your empire? Example: if I don't have intercompatible wombs on any pops in my empire then I can't disable those events, even though they might still be impacting game performance because of other empires.

I'm personally not a fan of tying sex acts to traditions. That seems kinda like making Americans fuck missionary, Australians fuck doggy, Chinese give blowjobs, etc... It just doesn't make sense to me from a narrative perspective.

I'd like to see traditions focus more on who your species fucks and/or the role of sex in the society... For example are you a diplomatic civ that fucks their friends and neighbours to create bonds, or a militarist civ that hunts for sex slaves? Do your people focus on fucking xenos, fucking each other, or maybe they're building a class of perfect mechanoid lovers?...  Is sex a big part of the economy? Are you building brothel-planets to attract trade and immigration, or is it a religious tradition that rewards piety with ecstasy?

That sort of thing...

All of those sound very interesting, though the point where a Tradition becomes a civic is kind of a blurry line for me.

 

I was approaching things from the point of view that your choice of civics may fundamentally change the way you play your empire. Inward Perfection; Rogue Servitors; and Syncratic Evolution are all game changing in how you approach building your empire from day 1. I viewed Traditions as more descriptive of how you go about achieving your objectives as the game develops and you have a better understanding of your position and resources. Choosing a tradition tends to fulfill a current need rather than a thing you plan out before starting a game.

 

I may be overthinking things here but my suggestions before were meant as more of a grab bag with a flavorful theme rather than a civilization defining view on sexuality. Not JUST missionary, but rather a little of this and a little of that. Vanilla civics are kind of like that; they tend to have a core theme, but rarely do all the abilities skew in one direction. There is always 1 or 2 perk in the tree that just kind of fill holes.
