like everyone...

Don't worry others have received flack too,

Right now there is a growing trend of people selling other peoples mods,

A custom sim isn't really considered as a mod and time in CAS is relatively just gameplay, it's a save file,

It's only expected that people will become upset with this practice,

Yeah, I think people get confused; When paying for sims on Patreon, they're paying for the creator's time, work, and talent, that goes into making the sims, not the CC. The fact that they use other people's CC shouldn't matter (as long as the CC's creator allows it). They are not selling the sims and the CC; They are selling their ability to put it all together. I have no problem with it, as long as they link back to the sites with the CC.

It's not because others share their sims without linking the CCs that it's good. Sharing CCs without saying where they're from is for me a lack of respect toward creators.

I don't say that by aiming you, please don't feel targeted. I only express a feeling.

And even linking them on patreon do it on free viewing post. Not in a premium one unless if CC is your own, just put the tray files and your stuff behind pay wall it will save you of a lot of remarks.

Best way to solve this situation : locked post with the tray file. and open post with the CC links. Then nobody could cry.

I agree; it's the best way, but even when that is done, some people still make a fuss. You just have to do what you believe is right, and ignore the haters.

I have. A lot of fuss over sim creators making money off of other peoples CC. I don't agree with them, especially when you are sharing for free here too. Just be aware, they are around, and they could make some hurtful comments. That said, keep up the good work. ?

What a wonderfull world full of coincidences,

1. I made a patreon and make a post here to share free sims, hours later you too.

2. Of course you ve´ seen my Sasha aka Sasha between Black and White, hours later you made it your own too.

3. I replied a comment in my post, making it going up to first pole in the forum, minutes later you add a new sim in your comments to go in the first pole.

Please be more discreet, at least now you put cc owners links.

Without acrimony, you are free to do what you want.

But now you know that i know.

How stupid the world!

1 . What are you having the craziness?? what is your problem with me?  I do not know you!

2. I did my own Sasha "GREY" (celebrity-obviously you don't know)

3. Don't know how to read? All the CC have links at my patreon!

4. Please stay away from me!

Please don't be so bad!

Just throwing this out there.... if you can't not see the sims or items on your patreon then how does one know if they feel donating is worth it or not? Sorry but just because they can see the free stuff does not mean the hidden stuff is as good.  I mean if the world operated like that then i'd be rich selling cars for thousands of dollars then once they paid I'd had then a picture of a car and say that is what I made... get the picture (pun intended) :)

what's i'm suggesting is perhaps on your patreon you post pictures of the premium stuff that visitors can see. so like your jenna jamison sims can bee seen and then if they donate they can download.

Why are you asking for money for your mods?

Are you in financial trouble, need cash, going hungry, disabled, dying, saving puppies..........what is it?

What cause would I be donating to if I were to provide you money on Patreon via a financial transaction to obtain your mods?

Some of us do receive support for our uploads for various reasons,

Mine being that I would like to be able to dedicate more time to learning the various softwares and increasing output,

Unfortunately in the case of pre-made Sims on patreon, they aren't a mod and people are looking to be sponsored to play

What are the reasons?

You say, yours is so you can dedicate more time to learning?....you call that a cause?  I paid for my own technical education, is this what you need money for, education?

In terms of your time, do you always get paid for everything you do and if you don't, do you just not do it?

Do you claim the money you get from Patreon on your taxes?....it IS income?

Patreon will take a percentage of earnings towards tax, PayPal has its charge too,

Personally from my own earnings I support Loverslab and Wickedwhims on a monthly basis,

I don't expect to be paid for everything as I have uploaded a fair amount of free content and have a lot more planned while I'm learning to create meshes and clothing on top of animation,

It's fair enough for you if you paid for your education but for someone else, maybe nearly in their 40s, these kind of courses were not available and we learned manual trades.

So while I bust my ass on a physical and digital level to expand my expertise, having a tip jar to treat my daughter to some extra stuff in life while working on what's pretty much a selfish hobby isn't such a bad thing,

You may have bought an education on using computers but I've learned everything I've got in 2 years while balancing a lot of real stuff, I never expected to get into modding at all but after 20+ years in manual labour it's nice to learn new skills and explore other opportunities or investments

That was very well said. As a consumer and not a creator of content of any kind to be distributed, I find the Patreon debate quite bafflingly. It's a mixture of entitlement, competition, and of course, as with anything, fraud.

Here is what I don't understand. Why do people waste so much of their emotions on this? Is it that they are frustrated they can't get something for free that they think they should? or that they feel they need to right the wrongs for others? or in the case of infringement of design, they feel cheated somehow? Am I missing something? All of this seems so petty.

Pateron, for me, is to support creators that I want to see around for the long haul. We can take a trip down memory lane and remember all the sites and creators we have said goodbye to over the years. They left because they felt attacked and not supported. It wasn't worth the aggravation. Some of the best mod creators were in the Sims 3. If Pateron was around then we may have convinced some to join the Sims 4 bandwagon with a monetary benefit. It would have given them a safe space to get feedback from people who supported them, not have to sift through heartless comments. Heres an example. Neia who created the career tool did not update the tool right away after the most recent update. She was not up to the task. If you read the forum post pertaining to that mod, the comments are truly horrific. As if some actually expect her or any creator for that matter to drop what they are doing to update a mod for people that feel so entitled to an update that they have no care for the well being of the creator. It was sad to read. I do not want good creators to quit so I chose to support the ones that add true enjoyment to my game.

I know I may be in the minority in my thoughts and I don't assume to know more than what I do. I could be off base but reading through this got me further confused as if I was missing something.

I do think the models are great. I will look out for more of your content and hope you keep creating!
