Tumblr Users! Beware!

First tumblr forces images to be a max of 720p a couple of months ago, now they are removing adult content.  No images bigger than a cellphone, no gifs over 2mb, and no adult content.  What exactly do they expect people will use tumblr for?  Blogging about their applebee's entree?

Ever heard of myspace?  Yeah, me neither.

I know right! They already had adult content filter systems in place and seeing that notice today just pisses me off big. Its like wtf did you have these systems in for to begin with?!

What are the alternatives to Tumblr? Let's go find some new land.

Pillowfort.io seems to be Tumblr except much better, the site is down right now due to some maintenance and generally still in beta. Right now you need to make a one-time donation of 5 bucks to make an account there, but mid 2019 they intend to be out of beta and available freely.

blogpost tried cracking down and received major backlash they had to leave a piss trail as they backed off.

Tumblr on the other hand is the SJW Feminist Libtard central safe space and ain't going to back down so easily.

Expect this to go through and people (including MANY Rule 34 animators) to be scattered across the web trying to find a new home.

This has nothing to do with "SJW Feminist Libtards" as you put it, this is Verizon/Yahoo making the site cleaner so that advertisers don't need to feel uncomfortable being seen next to video of someone getting DP'd or something like that.

Some may think we are talking about gaming – I like art with nudity / natural nudism - there are so many interesting nice and funny things at tumblr... like bodyscape

And it seems to me, some do not think of this: Many creators use stuff of tumblr sites too or got tumblr sites like for example Turbodriver....

Did we ignore to long the new European rules since Mai 2018?

There is no European web... so this will attac the hole www more and more

Came to say these. People blindly and stupidly throw the whole "hurr durr the SJWs DID IT!!!11!!" argument whenever something goes to crap media wise. Stop and think.

It is 100% what this guy said. You think Apple Bee's wants their ad next to a post with someone taking 50 dicks up their butt? For the exact same reason YouTube starting censoring their vids, now Tumblr is doing in. Additionally, Tumblr was also found to contain child pornography which was the initial reason why Apple took down the app without notice on November 17.

This has jack shit to do with politics and everything to do with money.

The real screwed up thing about all this is that most of these websites are corporate owned.  The Internet is not mandated by Federal Law so corporations can censor whatever the fuck they want.  I hate that as much as anyone but I'm just waiting for the day that they attempt to that crap in real life.

The Federal Government will eat their fucking life and soul if they so much as hint at the idea of attacking the 1st Amendment in RL.

I don't even know why people used Tumblr the moment they blocked non members from viewing pages that were tagged adult. We got alienated from downloading mods and Tumblr modders didn't give a fuck. Who am I supposed to feel sympathy for?

This is what happens when modding went into mainstream.

just to highlight your point ,

honestly when people in the community, like tumblr, that get alot of attention like modders or any content creators and they dont take precautionary actions like avoiding certain places for the sake of others like u said "went into mainstream" this is EXACTLY what happens. modding will always attract traffic of people who heard about their mods or actively use them and tell their friends etc. soon as people were like hey tumblr is a great place to bring all of this KNOWING IT WAS NOT . it causes exposure in a bad way and that goes for people who love the kink blogs and adult art blogs tooo... too many normies found out about all of that and now its being taken. too many people who are on the outside looking in with a major problem with nsfw content is the reason why their freedom of expression on a blogsite is being taken. and its so unfair. if people can post boobs and penis in the sake of liberation and shit ....artists and content makers should have free grounds to do the same thing! far as sims community , a main mod hub or downloads sssvitlians is being taken down come Dec 17 purge as well. it is considered NSFW & was a main place for alot of modders to host their mods, but it will be taken down because its too mainstream. people would promote the fuck out of that blog and didnt encourage it to be hosted elsewhere nor to be inclusive of nsfw mods outside of tumblr.. now its no 1 place for the non-nsfw small mods people to download / submit content . they depended on tumblr way too much

I'm wondering whether this is only going to affect tumblr in the future, cause it is owned by Yahoo and Yahoo also owns other sides like flickr for example. So I'm concerned they might expand the ban to all of their websites in the future and not just tumblr.

Also guys, blame Apple and the child porn incident, not feminism.

This pisses me off.  I don't even use Tumblr to look for 18+ content, it's the fact of the matter.  But, I don't think they are purposely targeting legal adult content or trying to be politically correct, etc.  My account was terminated right after they put the new tools in place to scan for illegal content--and I had only posted a picture of my *fully clothed* toddler sims hugging.  I was so irate about it and began searching why I would have gotten flagged.  I ended up finding an article that explained how CP is detected online.  The software used can only detect the faces of children vs. adults.  So, if there is a picture that does not have a face in it, the software cannot determine if it is an adult or not.  So, I'm pretty sure Tumblr is just banning all nudity/etc. since there is no way to be completely sure what is posted is legal or not.  It's much easier to use a software that detects and rejects general nudity, than to have people sitting behind a desk sorting through all of the flagged content.  Not only is it time consuming, but they might not even be able to tell what they are looking at is an adult or child.  So, don't blame the SJW.  Blame the pedos.  Even if Tumblr says they are moving in a new direction or whatever.  It sounds better and is easier for people to understand than the truth.
