The “shine o squares” could be the settings on your graphics. If your computer can handle it try setting them higher?

@Deawax Sorry for the late reply, I needed to re-update my software – because apparently it didn't install correctly the first time around ?. I'm getting the shiny square thing for some of my CC as well, so they were probably broken by a recent update. You can try re-downloading the problematic CC to see if they've been fixed or updated, but I'm afraid there's not much I can do about it on my end.

 

@WildChase I don't think graphics settings have anything to do with this. I think this glitch happens regardless.

@porkybork I may very well be wrong. I know I had a similar glitch happen post patches for Porkybork’s World before your own Strangeville update and what little I could find re: the “disco square suit” as it was called then suggested raising my settings and ticking the uncompressed(?) box. I must’ve done something right or it could be an outlier of happy coincidence as I’ve had no problems since. ??‍♂️

@Deawax You're just gonna have to get rid of the broken CC. Changing your settings isn't gonna do anything. I recommend going through all your CC in the game and isolating the broken stuff onto a single household. Then, using Tray Importer, open the household with all the bad CC, locate them in your mods folder via the app, and delete the files.

 

As for the hair, I don't even remember which hairstyles I used on those particular sims tbh. They may not even be in my Mods folder anymore (I get rid of some CC periodically to keep my Mods folder from getting too clogged up). PBW comes with plenty of custom hairstyles, so you could just use one of those instead.

 

I'm sorry if I'm coming off as indifferent, but I'm honestly not concerned with the current version anymore. Right now, all my focus for PBW is directed at the next update, which will include:

• Redoing all previously done households so that they reach my current standard of quality
• Makeovers for Island Paradise
• Makeovers for Realm of Magic
• Reworking relationships, careers, clubs, etc. so that it makes more sense with the established world of TS4
• Adding a special household for the base game (I didn't realize that the base game didn't come with aliens when I made TS2 Caliente Sisters)
  • Speaking of which, any suggestions are appreciated, though I'm leaning towards doing Bob and Betty Newbie

Until then, it's best to think of PBW as being on hiatus.

@porkybork I did find the top with the tray importer so now my sims skins are back to normal.

If someone could please look with the tray importer what haircuts i am missing for Lilith Vatore , Jade Rosa and the Sexy Mail Lady  ?

You got any progress pics you're willing to share from what you've done so far for the next update? The last couple neighborhoods Maxis put out were full of some of the fugliest NPCs they've put out to date, so I've been dying to see how you fix them up. Some of those NPCs look like what happens when you hit the random button while creating a character in Oblivion.

Wow! You weren't joking when you said you were touching up on everything! Your last version of Bella Goth was a masterpiece, I'm surprised you were even able to improve on it! I also really dig what you've done with Alexander and Cassandra, I'm a retired death metal guitarist and always find myself wishing I had more sims like that. Definitely liking what I see so far!

As a side note, my game has been crashing pretty often ever since the October patch (I know, I know, rookie mistake). It seems to be related to entering and exiting CAS, so I'm currently going through my Mods folder to see if I can find and remove the culprit.

Damn, this breaks my heart. I hope you can get everything sorted and get a new rig, but I know life can be a pain in the ass like that. In regards to the crashing, there have been so many changes in the game code this year that its happening to a lot of people. I took a break until right before RoM came out and had to actually delete all my CC I had saved up for years. I went through countless households I wanted to save, and had to hunt down broken shit, fix them up and export them with the tray importer so I'd be left with only stuff that I knew for a fact worked. It took a week. Now I'm running with virtually nothing that doesn't come from your files, maxis match shit and only mods from LMS and Coolspear. Game is running a lot more smoothly, but I had to start over from the bottom to get it there.

@lordazzurgs Hey dude. This semester has been kinda hectic, so I haven't been able to work on certain things as much as I'd like. My to-do list for LL content is currently:

1. Finish a story I'm working on (almost done)
2. Finish redoing TS4's base game households

On paper, it isn't a lot to do, but when RL stuff is factored in with it and you take into account how time consuming this kind of stuff can be, it ends up being kind of a slow process. For now, all I've gotten down for PBW since the end of the hiatus is this WIP:

 

Sorry if this is taking a bit longer than everyone hoped, but life happens, right? I'll post more previews once I have something more substantial to show. In the meantime, just try to be patient, I'm working through it as reasonably as I can.

Also, Discover University is coming out soon, and I don't buy DLC until it goes on sale, so I'll have to make an update file for that pack specifically like I did with Strangerville. In fact, I've been thinking about releasing my makeovers in the form of packs anyway. Like the base game would have its own thing, then Get Together would be in its own separate file, etc.

 

Anyway, glad you like this project!

Cameron Fletcher (Discover University):

 

 

Pretty easy makeover. IMO Cameron Fletcher is one of the best looking premade sims in TS4. I barely made any changes to his facial structure, I only lowered his mouth a little, pushed his jaw forward a bit, and made his head just slightly more narrow than it was before. I gave him a second everyday outfit that has his Foxbury spirit shirt on since I like the idea of Cameron being this excited freshman walking around campus wearing his uni swag.

 

I also got started on the Pleasant twins, but only changed their body shapes. They might be tricky since they're identical twins, but I think they look pretty good already. I'll post their pics once I finish them and see what y'all think.
