He’s supposed to look like a tough guy, that’s why he’s built like that. I might change his body shape a bit though. He looks a little too boxy IMO.

That’s a good idea. I’ll see what I can do about drug dealers and gangsters. I think it’d mesh well with what I’m doing with the Landgraab family.

I’m trying to make it so that each update has additions specific to the pack it’s representing. That way, people know what to expect when they download it based on the name alone. I don’t plan to do anything for Stuff Packs, only Game Packs and Expansion Packs.

 I’m still not sure what I’ll do with Magnolia Promenade, but I tend to save lot edits for last.

TS3:

Chester died of old age in TS3, but that's kinda boring for a mafia character. Therefore, I'll have him get shot to death when he's an adult via the Extreme Violence mod.

 

Chester's parents were ghosts in TS3 as well, but I'm not gonna go that deep. There's just no point.

I'll also be making a couple custom portraits featuring Chester and Queenie Landgraab, and Gunther and Cornelia Goth, just to make the world feel a little more real.

 

These two and the posters will be available in the Get to Work pack. Speaking of which, here's what I'm planning for it.

 

Get to Work Task List:

  • Add Landgraab elders
  • Add special alien family
  • Add NPC workers
    • This will include gardeners, personal trainers, bartenders, pizza delivery workers, maids, etc.
    • This will probably be the most time consuming task
  • Add workers for GtW careers (Doctor, Scientist, Detective)
  • Add custom portraits
  • (Possibly) pretty up Magnolia Promenade

Stuff Packs don't usually come with new sims or worlds anyway, do they?

Nope. Also, I just realized that Dine Out and Spa Day are Game Packs and not Stuff Packs, so they'll get their own little updates.

2.0 is a complete redo of PBW. The older version is still available for download, but you will not receive any help if you run into issues because of it. As I've said before, I'll be releasing new content based on DLC packs.

Hey guys! I got to work (ba dum tss) on the NPC workers over the weekend. So far I've finished the bases for the maids and postal workers, and I've gotten through 2/3 of the pizza delivery workers.

As you might've noticed, I don't put as much effort into these sims as I do others since there's a much lower chance that you'll come across them in-game. However, sometimes I'll get some inspiration to go the extra mile for certain sims, like Saki Tanaka. What inspired me? I don't know, she's cute?

So... more than I originally expected ?  I think I can get away with making just two sims per NPC job, so it shouldn't be too bad. I still need to make the aliens and those portraits as well.

They're not technically part of GTW, but the baristas from GT are also classed as service NPCs.

Baristas will be part of the Get Together update. Thanks for the heads up though. It can be hard to keep track of what content came from which pack sometimes.

Hey! PBW 2.0 is finally here! I mean, it's just the Base Game for now, but still!

All the new additions are listed in the updated OP.

 

Let me know if there are any issues and I'll try to take care of them ASAP. Next up is Get to Work.

 

What does the mod do exactly. Not seeing any screenshots, hence wondering. :)

Pretty much, yeah.

It will work much like the game itself. So to start off, the base game premade households were overhauled and some Sims 3 households were added as a bonus. Then the the Sims from the expansion packs will be overhauled one pack at a time in the original release order of the packs (so Get to Work first, then City Living, etc with a general theme for each one) 

Eventually, there will be a save where all the Sims will look pretty and there will be an interconnecting story between them all. 

 

Talking about the other households, in my copy of the save, I moved Sofia Bjergsen out of the family home and into Candy Behr's house, where she bunks on the sofa since she despises her parents and barely tolerates her sister. It's an interesting piece of gameplay I would suggest adding to the world when it reaches that point.

For the base game IN THIS PARTICULAR SAVE. If you start a new game from the main menu, they'll all look and behave like they always have. If you want to use the overhauled sims, you need to fork out from this new save with the Save As button.

Since the aliens in TS2 seemed to have their own hierarchy similar to honeybees, so I'm gonna try to reflect that by modeling the alien sims after classes of bees. My thought process is:

  • Birth Queen (Queen Bee)
    • Primary function is to be impregnated and birth more aliens
    • Other functions are to lead their following of lower-tier aliens and find a safe location to establish a colony
    • Always female
  • Pollination Technicians (Drone Bee)
    • Type 1: Primary function is to impregnate Birth Queen
      • Once fertilization occurs successfully, the T1-PT will die from exhaustion
      • Always male
    • Type 2: Primary function is to experiment with DNA splicing by abducting other species members and impregnating them
      • May live remainder of its life outside of colony after its primary function has been fulfilled
      • Always male
  • Colony Drone (Worker Bee)
    • Primary function is to serve their Birth Queen
    • Other functions include all necessary and menial tasks required to maintain and build upon their colony
    • May be either male or female
    • Most common class of alien

I'm gonna keep a certain theme for each class of alien that I make. In fact, I may go back and edit PT9's appearance a bit depending on how the other aliens look.

Just to confirm, the household with the updated Tina Peeping was called something like ww_peeping_female, yes?

 

When Tina finally showed up in my current save, I pasted your version onto her with MCCC. Had to scroll through page after page of saved household names to finally find the one I wanted at the *very* end.

 

Not your fault, of course. But perhaps prefacing your new households with "PBW_" could make life a little easier for those who want to add your creations to existing saves. :)
