Hey! PBW 2.0 is finally here! I mean, it's just the Base Game for now, but still!

All the new additions are listed in the updated OP.

 

Let me know if there are any issues and I'll try to take care of them ASAP. Next up is Get to Work.

When I go to extract, I get a password prompt, but I don't see a password, unless I'm blind, which can totally be the case LOL

Not just you. The archive is passworded.

That's intentional. For now, only sims meant for the Base Game – that is, no extra packs – are provided. This is temporary and I will be adding the rest when they're all finished.

I’m not entirely sure. I’m guessing it has all the body parts info, but I don’t actually know what that folder does. I included just in case stuff in the game depended on it being in there.

If someone with a better understanding of how WW and its files works could inform me on its inner workings, that’d be nice.

That's fine. I just didn't want something I didn't quite understand myself overwriting stuff from multi-generational saves.

I mean, it's probably fine if you skip adding it. I doubt anything bad will happen. It's mostly just there because I didn't know if I needed to or not.

I'm liking what you've done so far (is Newcrest supposed to somewhat resemble Sunset Valley?) but I'm going to wait for the DLC characters to get added before I play on the save because I just abhor the default clay Sims that aren't integrated into your world yet. 

 

My only criticism is the aging up of the premade children that takes away a bit of the age diversity I liked. (Granted, unplayed child Sims are pretty much useless, so their Teen counterparts might grow on me)

I made a poll a long time ago about whether or not I should age up all the child sims to teens, and the results were highly in favor of me doing so. Gotta give the majority what it wants, right?

*Checks LL feed* YES PB has an Update and it looks Amazing, looking forward to the packs. *Gets alert from Origin Access*  Aaaaannnnd EA is coming out w/ a new Expansion pack for the Sims in June. Sorry, I probably could've worded that better lol. What I meant is that I won't release packs until one of them is finished. Shit, that's probably not any better. Um... Okay, let's try that again.

I'm releasing updates by pack. So, Get to Work will get its own update, Vampires will get its own update, Island Paradise will get its own update, and so on and so forth. Think of each major update as DLC to the Base Game version of PBW. Things like tray files, saves, and CC will supplement all the stuff that's already provided in PBW: Base Game. Hopefully, this will keep each successive pack from being too bloated due to containing CC files that already exist in the BG pack.

Does that make it more clear?

Did you know Nancy Landgraab had parents in TS3? Well she did, so I made them in TS4.

Apparently, Queenie died in a fire when she was a young adult, so...

Chester died of old age in TS3, but that's kinda boring for a mafia character. Therefore, I'll have him get shot to death when he's an adult via the Extreme Violence mod.

 

Chester's parents were ghosts in TS3 as well, but I'm not gonna go that deep. There's just no point.

I'll also be making a couple custom portraits featuring Chester and Queenie Landgraab, and Gunther and Cornelia Goth, just to make the world feel a little more real.

 

These two and the posters will be available in the Get to Work pack. Speaking of which, here's what I'm planning for it.

 

Get to Work Task List:

• Add Landgraab elders
• Add special alien family
• Add NPC workers
  • This will include gardeners, personal trainers, bartenders, pizza delivery workers, maids, etc.
  • This will probably be the most time consuming task
• Add workers for GtW careers (Doctor, Scientist, Detective)
• Add custom portraits
• (Possibly) pretty up Magnolia Promenade
