For what it's worth, Witcher 3 was actually pretty moddable, even though the community had to create their own tools most of the time.

Hell, I wrote my own private companion mod from scratch because nothing on the Nexus did what I want.

If Cyberpunk maintain that level of openness, I think we can expect some cool stuff - especially when it comes to script mods. Nothing to the extent of Skyrim, but probably still pretty impressive all the same.

... not really. Asset replacement sure, meta state and metadata, not even kind of.

It looks fairly likely that everyone will either have to lower their expectations or things will be delayed further or both.

Maybe companies will have to accept a common baseline level of graphical fidelity as well as a ceiling on such as well as performance just to be able to get their increasingly more complex games (from a purely technological stand-point, that is) out of the door on a reasonable timescale? Maybe the console approach to the base game is just more manageable?

That or everyone should learn their limits and stop biting off more than they can chew.

That guy seems to forget that games urinalists hate this game and CDPR and have gone out of their ways to find things to drum up outcry over. He has some points about just showing us the game but he undermines his own arguments by using the "journos' fluffing" line.

And I don't care if the game is delayed a couple of months. Better delayed and good than rushed and terrible. I just wish the playable demo was available to everyone. There's a site that says it offers it but it tries to get you to sign up for two "deals" before you can download. Smells like a scam to me.

I ended up getting Cyberpunk 2077 early, I almost (do but very rare) pre-order things...BUT...I have the stimulus money, and might as well get the game before I get evicted with months of non-paid rent and lose all my money lol.

Its looking to be exactly as I predicted though. Its kinda looking like a downgrade, and features being cut (though wall running being cut isnt a bother to me, I never cared about that and actually I'm terrible at wall running so personally not an issue lol). But some of the graphics are looking like a downgrade from what they previously showed.

With that said, my expectations I'm keeping low, that way when its released maybe it'll be better than I think and I'll enjoy it lol. I got too hyped up on SPORE and was so disappointed by it, and then went back years later with "proper" expectations and kinda enjoyed it for like 50 hours and still play it occasionally with mods. Either way, I'll likely have fun and enjoy Cyberpunk.

I think there will be an attempt to push the game into 3rd person mode right off the bat. I mean, it only makes sense that a game with highly detailed character customization would come with 3rd person mode from the start, but since the developers didn't want to add it in the game (and i personally find their stated reason for it to be one of the most asinine shit ever), i believe people would be trying it themselves. Wouldn't work well no matter what though, it'll always feel wonky/floaty/glitchy as is the case with any 1st person game i know of that people tried to convert into 3rd person. That Kingdom Come game, Far Cry games, you name it. I read somewhere that it has to do with how the camera movement system is baked into the game.

Other than that, eh, who knows. I doubt it'll ever be as moddable as Skyrim. But it'll be interesting to see regardless. I'll only observe the scene for the first 4 years or so to get a really good idea of how's it gonna be as a whole lol.

Welp, they actually do have a LOT of surprising options, they even have full nudity and let you customize genitals on male and female and such  (from sound of things you can even give a female body a dick). Not to mention options like Hearts for eyes, male voice on female character (and vice versa), and so on.

I have a feeling there is going to be a lot of porn made of this game.....

What is weird is CDPR said 2 time now that game is 100% ready, how all is there story, quest............ and they just iron out bugs, and yet we hear more and more how stuff are cut from the game.

Can you give us links to these cuts?

https://www.gamesradar.com/cyberpunk-2077-wall-running-was-removed-due-to-design-reasons/ https://www.ign.com/articles/cyberpunk-2077-wall-running-mantis-blades-cut

Also Techi class in no more and that spider bot too, almost all 3rd person cutscenes are cutout from the game, also apartment, from multiple apartments we end up with only one, with little to no customization.

I can see wall running being removed because of the engine's physics causing a serious conflict or something in a similar vein. "Design reasons" could mean anything since it's doesn't actually say anything.

As for the rest, again I'll need to see some evidence. "Class" could be just as nebulous in CP 2077 as it is in TES 1-4 and the CP tabletop RPG itself (and what I've seen of how skills are handled, it's probable) so "removing" one is likely meaningless in practical terms. Third-person cut scenes and apartments being cut, again, just raises more questions. Were they really removed? Why? How many, if so? What precisely was cut?

As an aside, the Mantis Blades sound a lot like spurs in the Shadowrun RPG. Although I've never heard of the latter being used to "wall run" or even climb. The blades in that game are just too thin to support the full weight of a metahuman without bending or snapping. Making them thick enough to support such weight would make them impossible to hide inside a limb.

Well they show wall running in first demo and talk how that will be one of ways to close the distance and way getting to some point in more then one way , and now that they cut it from game, even if is for  "Design Reasons" like it or not is cut content.

Again, wall running was a working thing in last years demo so they cut it now and say well "Design Reasons", there is difference if some things are just said to be in game, but we never see them work, and when you see some gameplay mechanic and later he is not in game anymore that is cut content.

3rd person cutscenes, little after 2018 demo CDPR reply that CP2077 will have both 3rd person and 1st person cutscenes, little later they say most of 3rd person cutscenes are out of the tame that only few are still in game, later some one ask on twitter https://www.pcgamer.com/cyberpunk-2077s-cutscenes-will-apparently-be-first-person/ you can see on that site twitter reply he got, you can also see that in NCW demo elevator scene is now also 1st person and in old demo it was 3rd person, i talk about scene where jackie and V coming out of elevator during mission they show in 2018 demo.

I respect that many like 1st person view, for me is not great, i much much more like 3rd person, so lack of cutscenes is really sad and bad news, also why deep customization when you will not see you character 99% of the time, again inventory and mirrors are not same as cutscenes and gameplay, also IRL view is not same as game 1st person.

Techi class is one of roles from Cyberpunk 2020, it is also copy of Rigger class from Shadowrun, a engineer who use gadgets and his knowledge about technology to finish his job, at first how CDPR talk Techi would use Flathead a spider bot, but now they remove that bot and Techi class since how they say Techi is to much as Netrunning, that sound to stupid since Techi and Netrunners are not same thing not even close, Netrunners are hackers who plug them self in virtual world/network to do some attack or theft of informations and so on, Techi are engineer who build gadgets tools to use in their job, shock bomb, EMP, use bots.... yes both class use technology, but on totally different level and ways.

I mean, look what Rigger do in Shadowrun it is same class as Techi from Cyberpunk, people forget that Shadowrun and Cyberpunk have same setting, both have mega corps who fight each other, both use mercenary(PC) to do thir dirty work, every thing is more or less same just in Shadowrun they add magic to all of that.

I never like idea that you can use Mantis Blades to climb a walls, from few reasons, even if you have mechanical arms, you still can't lift a tank, since your spine probably would not support all the weight you lifted, i agre with you on that.

Okay, all that makes more sense. I'm intimately familiar with Shadowrun (pre-SR4) so I know the differences between riggers/techies and deckers/netrunners. I'm still not taking the idea that 99% of cutscenes will be first-person just yet simply because the game is not out yet and we don't know exactly what CDPR is working on. For that matter, I really don't care about perspective in cutscenes myself. Besides, I'm not buying the game at launch; I always wait until all the DLC is released and CDPR releases a "Collector's Edition" with everything on discs before buying. That's assuming I'll buy the game at all.

We will see, but they was clear by saying how immersion is important for them and story so First Person is way to go, and how 3rd person would not be the same, by that words then their own game Witcher was not immersive.

Also First Person is not Immersive for all, many many like 3rd person, many many like First Person, also to see your character in inventory or in some Photo Mode that now also maybe is not 100% a thing anymore is not same as in gameplay and in cutscene.

I hope game turn ok, half of my interest drop when i hear is First person only, but if story end up to be boring or not fun, that will drop my interest even more.

I kinda dislike how people complain about "cut" features. Was it ever a "feature" if there was no game to begin with (because it's not released)? Can you call it a "feature" if it only worked in one or two locations?

I mean, I can see that some are disappointed that something already shown, which they were excited for, won't be in the game. That's the downside of the relatively open communication that CDPR chose. Other devs experiment with mechanics, too, but we just don't see what systems they had nearly ready that didn't make it in the final product.

Also:

Magic shows would not be very fun if the magicians let the audience in on every illusion as they devise them, set them up then begin their act.

Old fashioned physical media/'analog' art would become unworkable if there was someone there to criticize the artists every time that they decide to erase something or paint over it.

Some degree of opacity is necessary at times to not disappoint the audience or to encourage them to over-the-shoulder creative direct the development team at every turn.

First nothing against you, but CDPR don't really have open communication, when ever they are ask about some game mechanic or some other things they give cryptic answers, or they say we are not sure how that will work we don't know how that will be in game, it was fine to say "we are not sure how that will work" in 2018 but it is really not ok to say that even now when game suposed to come out 3 month ago.

It is clear they never wanted to show gameplay, only reason they show 2018 gameplay, is since there was leaked audio from E3 demo.

They also cut second demo short and edited so much, that even people who see that demo live said it is done without reason, it is funny how CDPR fear to show gameplay since people will see bugs, when you have Larian Studios who show new game two time full gameplay and don't even try to hide bugs, even comment about them.

About cut content, they showed wall running they talk about it, and now they removed it, they talk how Techi class will be different how they will use that spider bot the most how they will have more options with him, and now both Techi and spider bot are out of the game, and Techi is switch to some really stupid skill/perks.

So yeah that is cut content, aslo about apartments, at first they say we will have more, then they switch to one but with customization, and now they say well we will have minimum customization and try to explain that how V is mercenary and that's why customization is so minimal, it make no sense to say that, mercenary fight for money or other type of paymant, it make no sense to say they would not like to customize their own home, every mercenary is different, they think differently, they like different stuff and so on, it would be much better if they say we didn't want to bother with apartment customization, than to try and justified lack of customization with so weird explanation.

And yeah 4chan post is fake, all info for CP2077 i look are from their forum or gamesite.

They better not get some sort of brain aneurysm that affects the entire dev team resulting in the game flopping. I'm really looking into playing the game when it comes out but if they screw up, I'm gonna be so mad...

A cyberpunk video game like this is something I've always dreamed of, and I was already too late when I learned that my favorite anime franchise, Ghost in the Shell, had a multiplayer squad-based FPS called "Ghost in the Shell: First Assault". I ended up finding out about it after it had already shut down. There's a community trying to bring it back, and they're doing a great job, but I don't expect it to be finished until maybe a year from now.

CDPR better not mess up.

As someone who played that game, trust me you didn't miss nothing special, heavy cash shop game with skin of a Ghost in the Shell, real shame to be honest.

About Cyberpunk 2077 i do hope they don't mess up, but combat look weak melee really really look bad, also some of skills and perks are to weird and out of place to be honest, like engineer skill that make you immune to your own bombs, that really make no sense, or armor after you kill enemy.

Those skills you found mostly in action games that have some light RPG elements, not so much in games who are based on PnP, sure in Pathfinder Kingmaker you have few skills like that and he is based on PnP, but that setting is full on fantasy with magic and dragons, demons, gods..........

I remember the hype, and speculation before Outer Worlds launched. Then it did, and even though it's not yet available on Steam, seems like yesterdays news. Cyberpunk will be no different. Lot's of talk, but after release you won't hear the same response from the public as the Witcher3. Why? Because the Witcher3 was an anomaly among games at the time of release. People are pushing Cyberpunk so hard and expect so much, there's already an outcry and it hasn't even launched - fuckin people kill me.

Considering that many of them are looking to the final version of The Witcher 3 as the standard for games in the genre for now on, their disappointment is inevitable.

It isn't too different from using the world record for professional sports performances as the requirement from recruitment to a team.

The difference being 77 is decent and OW is a pile of hot garbage and only got praise because of woke and bethesda somehow jamming thier own eye out by inserting their own penis so far up their own ass that it happened... twice.

TW3 had about 40% of the started quests cut and had a graphics downgrade about the same "percent" of then current quality, namely simpler models, less anims and WAY simplified lighting, and 77 is actually a bit higher than that in terms of what's staying and what's gone. CDPR has already secured three years of funding, and so what it ends up being at the end will likely be more than what we have. As for the "on the fly" sex scenes with full penetration and 100% ability to choose perspectives none of that was ever promised to begin with. By the last DLC we'll prolly have a full tech tree and our own place, shit like infinite cars and infinite weapons is probably not something you're likely to need to complete the game or to "boost" your immersion by just that much more.

The smartest people are probably the ones who are going to wait three years to play it kind of like the people that waited for TW3 so they could play the whole game on hardware that would run it smooth as silk.

Yep, Got TW3 about 6 months after the GOTY version was available and on sale at Steam. One of my best purchases to date.
