I'm done with that crap, way to old besides I had my plumbing "fixed" long ago. Not soon enough however, one night I was poking fun at my wife and she took it seriously.

On a serious note though several have said "can't afford it" trust me you can never afford it. Might as well book a trip to the moon it's cheaper.

Even if I was in a position to father a child, I do not like the society, or world that I'm living in. If I had

the resources to go off grid I might consider it - fuck cell phones, creeping socialism, the nanny state,

the educational system, religious zealots and every other person or organization that would interfere

with my right to raise a decent human being. You can't even let your kid fucking walk to school by

themselves anymore.

Poor people in the states multiply almost exponentially. You can thank Welfare for that- it pays them to sit on their asses and rewards them for each baby they claim- whether it's actually their child or not.

There's just a difference in the strategy of survival b/t the poor with many children and the poor w/o. It's maximizing the remaining state benefits vs minimizing the monthly costs. Poor are both, and poverty is hardly a human ideal, prosperity is 'cause it enables (among others) good healthcare and it's thus one of the keys for a longer life.  To achieve prosperity one needs a job in the learned profession, not unskilled labor at minimum wage. Unfortunately, the qualified jobs are melting like butter in the sun and with the coming agenda Industry 4.0 (the interconnected production based on AI) there is no general return to qualified full employment possible anymore,

Regarding your reference to the welfare state and its social nets one might talk to the generation of the parents, at least when they'd stop laughing out loud. That baby is slowly dying since the 80s. If you fall today, you'll rock bottom tomorrow 'cause the costly security nets don't function properly anymore and the workforce is already too small to tax-finance it ever again.

I'm a business woman and lone mother and welfare was never interested in me, tax authorities are.

Aint that the truth. I have read more than a few stories in the past couple of years where parents are charged with "child endangerment" for letting their children play outside (unattended). I mean seriously that was how my mother got a minute or two of peace "why don't you (expletive) kids go outside and play!"

I never want to have children, for many reasons.

Firstly, I feel I am simply not qualified to function as a good parent either in skill or resources, and I have no interest in taking that risk for the sake of finding out.

Secondly, I have a fair few genetic defects and deficiencies, at least some of which that I would inevitably pass on to any poor sod unlucky enough to have me as a father, this I feel would be unfair on the child.

Thirdly, I simply don't have the motivation to have children; I can barely muster the energy or will to get out of bed and move about, let alone build another human being.
