These are colloquially referred to collectively as Oldkin, and more specifically, as Blue Oldkin and White Oldkin. Even though they are labeled by color, it is not known what colors these races actually were, let alone what they may have looked like more generally. In fact, it is not even known if the Blue Oldkin and White Oldkin were in any way related, but there are similarities in their architecture that hint at a shared ancestry. There are numerous artifacts of immense magical power left behind by these races that in some cases have proved vital for some modern races’ continued survival. The Gift of the Oldkin is a particularly notable example of this, as High Elves would likely have had a much harder time defending themselves from other races if it were not for its existence. Much of their magical prowess hinges on the device. The Sun Elves used to be highly proficient at magic, especially sun magic, but they lost most of their powers after a group of High Elves kidnapped Lady Milandra – a Sun Elf demigoddess with the power to imbue others with sun magic – and imprisoned her in the Gift of the Oldkin. There have been numerous breakout attempts since then, but seeing as she is the source of the High Elves’ proficiency with sun magic, she must somehow still be trapped there to this day. After the Sun Elves lost their ability to wield sun magic, they shifted their entire society towards being proficient at armed fighting and hand to hand combat, and quickly began to become stronger and taller with every generation. It is now unknown just how physically impressive the Sun Elves were before the loss of Lady Milandra, but as of now, they are by far one of the strongest and tallest of all the highly sentient peoples.
