This is more of a follow-up on a previous thread where I was CTD in Falkreath. Managed to get a crash logger running, but not sure what it's pointing to. Mod Load Order: Crash Log: https://pastebin.com/RG7SDnmf#google_vignette

Having a bit of trouble with CTD when trying to get to Falkreath. I'm sure it's an issue with load order as I had been fiddling with it according to the recommendations in BDIC. I'm not exactly sure what the problem is, even tried switching back to the original load order. Base Skyrim files seem to be intact since I can load in Falkreath just fine in Vanilla. Checked through forums and I have a distinct feeling that it might be a conflict with meshes, thought not sure which mod might be contributing to it, and I feel like I'm missing a step in trouble shooting. Took a rather long break from modding, and I've kind of forgotten some stuff. Here's my current load order:

I play Skyrim, all mods work, everything seems to work, occasionally there is a departure every 30 minutes, but it doesn't matter because there is no departure in the same place after loading, but it takes off stably near falkreath as well as at sawmills. Having turned off 70% of my build, I could not identify what the problem was, who understands and knows how to read the log, help). The trip took more than a day, but at least now Thradra was in Falkreath. Home sweet home. At least, home was that one room in the tavern she rented. But that was about to change. There was land available to purchase and she needed to see the steward at the long house in order to get it. She had the funds, at least, so it would be an easy purchase. Jarl Siddgeir's steward was an Altmer, a woman of some calm and composure. She gave advice when needed, and alaid fears when it came to it. There was also some strange rumours, but Thradra never took stock in rumour or conjecture. As Thradra entered the long house, she asked of the whereabouts of Nenya, the Jarl's Steward. She was quickly pointed out, in the Jarl's main bedroom. Thradra perked an eyebrow, wondering what that was all about. Still, she didn't think on it much and entered the bedroom without a care. Inside, she found Nenya, relaxing in a chair as she read from a book. Thradra could see that relaxing for this high elf meant nearly stripping down. Nenya looked up as Thradra approached and offered a small smile. "I've heard there's land available for purchase," Thradra said with a nod. "I'm interested in the plot of land near Pinewatch." Nenya leaned back in her chair and studied Thradra a moment. "Normally, that would cost 5,000 septims. But..." she paused as her eyes trailed down Thradra's form. "I've heard some things about you. You've performed good feats in this hold, helped out the Jarl, and even took the time to entertain patrons at Dead Man's Drink. We may be able to come to an arrangement... with another kind of payment." Thradra took a breath as a thought rushed to her mind. "If you think I'm going to fuck Siddgeir..." she said with a harsh whisper. "Don't be ridiculous," Nenya replied with a chuckle. "I've also heard you're a lesbian." The Steward rose to her feet and moved to the side of the large double bed. "Siddgeir's only wants and desires include hunting and entertaining those at fancy parties," Nenya explained. "This isn't for him. This is for me." She motioned to the bed and looked to Thradra. "Lay down, and I want to see what that tongue of yours feels like." Thradra smirked as she removed her helmet, placing it to the side with her weapons and pack, then obediently crawled onto the bed, looking to Nenya for her next move. The high elf didn't disappoint, as she crawled ontop of Thradra, straddling her legs over the dunmer's head. "Now, let's see if you can earn that plot of land," Nenya said softly as she let her hips hover seductively above Thradra. For the bard, she took that as her cue, lifting her head as she let her tongue caress the high elf's pussy. Last time, I went through some of the outfits made in City of Heroes for Thradra. But now it's time to go back into the build itself. This time, we're visiting Gray Pine Goods. Gray Pine Goods is owned by Solaf, and his brother, Bolund (who runs the saw mill) also lives there. But instead of me describing Gray Pine Goods, I've grabbed a snippet from The Unofficial Elder Scrolls Pages. Upon entry, Bolund will be in the process of leaving (see bugs). The counter is to the right of the entrance and contains several items. Against the southwest wall is a set of shelves and a cupboard, both of which are filled with food, beverages, and potions. A food barrel is in the west corner, and a small coin purse is under the counter. Against the southeast wall is a dresser with a steel sword, an iron mace, and three iron arrows on top. A ceiling rack containing three rabbits, a bunch of frost mirriam, two garlic braids, and two bunches of elves ear hangs above the dresser. Opposite the door on the southeast wall is a fireplace with four pheasants hanging from a rack to the left. Further to the left is a food barrel and a set of shelves containing an iron mace. There is a flight of stairs leading up to the living quarters against the northeast wall with several barrels, a pile of firewood, and an unlocked chest containing minor loot underneath. At the top of the stairs is a long wooden table against the southeast wall. On the table are several pieces of cheese, two pieces of salmon meat, three bottles of alto wine, a couple of loaves of bread, and three pine thrush eggs. To the right is a set of shelves holding only clutter. Coming out from the southwest wall are two owned single beds with a round table between them and an unlocked chest to the left. On the table are two bottles of alto wine and five septims. In the northern corner above the stairs are several sacks of foodstuffs and a couple of barrels. A door leading out onto the balcony is located in the middle of the northwest wall. Now, in City of Heroes while we can kitbash as much as we want to craft different things, we do not have the ability to make NPCs in the way we would like them to appear (yet, I must say, as that may be something in the future). Upon entering, the fire is lit and warm. There is a bookshelf, a chair and a small table. To the left of the door upon entering, is the tradesman's desk where Solaf would usually stand. In this case, an NPC of the Midnight Club within Paragon City and the Rogue Isles. The building is humble enough, with a few minor items scattered about (and as I am want to do, will be adding more clutter in the future). So that was Gray Pine Goods. Coming up, will be three Daedric aspects to be found throughout the base. All are familiar, and all will have a personal story from playing Skyrim the number of hours I've played it.

The Jarl's Longhouse in Falkreath is another well known spot. There's the quest you can pick up from the Jarl to deal with some bandits which will then lead to the ability to purchase the land Lakeview Manor is on. Do a few more things around Falkreath and the Jarl will make you Thane. Now, the Jarl changes depending on at what point you're at in the main questline. If you get there early, the Jarl is Siddgeir, who seems rather foppish, is more concerned with riches and wealth and making deals than anything. Should you get there after the big meeting in High Hrothgar, the Jarl is Dengeir of Stuhn. Dengeir seems a bit more pragmatic though he tends to be paranoid, and while a supporter of the rebellion, he actually has doubts about Ulfric. As far as building the actual longhouse, this one took up just as much kit bashing as Deadman's Drink. Probably the biggest difficulty was the stairs on either side of the building, as the base editor doesn't exactly give a whole lot of options for long stairs. As for things like the throne, that was simple enough though the base editor only gives three options. Same with the banners and the symbol, while close, is not just antlers. You can take a look at some of the examples below. Stay tuned for another interior. This one's very simple compared to the longhouse and Deadman's Drink. It's the interior to Gray Pine Goods. Sadly, none of the witty conversations with Solaf can be recreated. And sadly no interactions with his overly racist brother who happens to run the saw mill.

One of the well known locations of Falkreath happens to be Deadman's Drink. It's a perfect resting spot in the hold outside of what the player might find in their own home in Lakeview Manor. In City of Heroes, Deadman's Drink is the first of five separate interiors that was created in order to add the feeling of a living area. Personally, there's quite a few good memories of Deadman's Drink. Notable inhabitants of the tavern are Valga Vinicia who is the owner and hostess, the ever present Narri who is often cleaning around the tavern, Delacourt the Bard and if you finish the quest Hunted and Hunter Valdr also takes up residence there. When it comes to actually building the interior for Deadman's Drink, that came simply enough. The floor plan in a relatively easy cross shape with the top of the cross sort of cut short. The door is on the left side of the building, more toward the back (if you were to take the bar as the front of the building). While the actual tavern itself is mostly wood and stone, I made the decision to make the floor primarily wood, with the fire pit made out with stone pieces. Picnic tables made for the bench tables off to the side with a candle in a bottle as the light source. The two smaller bedrooms are filled with a simple cot, a rustic chair, rustic table and a series of rustic cabinets and counters to resemble the closets that were in the rooms, along with a lockbox or a chest. The main bedroom has a more ornate bed (sadly no bear skins or bear skin rugs), a couple of counters with books, some plants, a rug on the floor and a pair of rustic chairs with tables beside each and bottles of alcohol. The tavern's bar is on a raised platform with barrels piled behind it, coin and cash on the shelves of the bar, along with a small array of weapons, some jars, and a few odds and ends. Two stools sit in front of the bar. There was some kit bashing that needed to be done in this interior. Some primary examples are the bar itself, the closets in the two bedrooms, the alchemy table at the back and the fire pit itself. But all of that can be seen in the pictures below. Stay tuned, next I'll cover the Jarl's Longhouse. And possibly go into Thradra N'Tir's build at some point.

Two years ago a game I got into way back in 2004 came back. Or rather, I got back into it. In 2012, it was the shutdown of an MMO called City of Heroes. In 2020, during the beginning months of the pandemic, I found City of Heroes. And I took the dive back in. There was a ton of familiarity with the game, and a lot of new things as well. But the thing I found the most enjoyable was base building. I built whole towns and created a representation of Bloodborne. And there was people who managed to create fantastic designs. Everything from a starship to a pirate's cove. Base building, aside from creating characters to role play or to create builds, became a big part of my return to City of Heroes. One day, I decided that I'd already recreated Thradra N'Tir, a long time Skyrim character, in City of Heroes, I thought why not try to recreate an area that I loved exploring. One of my favourite sections of Skyrim was always Falkreath. The area held a lot of memories for me. And it helped that it was often the first region you'd end up in when starting the game. Okay, maybe second or third after Riverwoood and Whiterun. But Falkreath was one of the Holds that I always loved. I loved the area surrounded by trees and the mountains right there. Even the people held a lot of interest. So I decided to rebuild a close approximation to Falkreath in City of Heroes. Jarl's longhouse I first managed to grab an overhead map of Falkreath, just so I could capture the position of each building, and once those were in place, went about putting down markers and then just starting to build. The blacksmith's Each building did have it's own look and feel, but it also had a familiarity to what was built in Skyrim. There's certain items that you can't kitbash in City of Heroes (and kitbashing is a lot of what you do when base building), for instance there's no thatched roof items, so you just have to deal with what you've got. Deadman's Drink I also put in a few easter eggs found in the game from the area itself. For example, there is a dog on the road outside of Falkreath. I also placed a dog sitting on the platform that holds the blacksmith's shop. That would be Meeko, who you meet at an abandoned shack near Dragon's Bridge. You do have the opportunity later on to give Meeko to the blacksmith, as he was earlier trying to send you on a quest to get the aforementioned dog outside of Falkreath. This dog would, of course, turn out to be Barbas. The other half of Clavicus Vile. The cemetery and the shrine to Arkay The saw mill There's also every well known spot to be seen in Falkreath. The merchant's shack, the alchemist's hut, the barracks, the saw mill and even the cemetery. But there's also a few items that were placed thanks in part to the limitations of base building. You can't put absolutely everything into the base exactly as you might want it. The Warrior, Thief and Mage standing stones One of many ruined watch towers that dot Skyrim There's also items and locations that are placed in the base which harken to how close they are to Falkreath, such as the three standing stones which players will often run into right away after escaping Helgen. Or, an abandoned watch tower now taken over by bandits or some other creature. There's a lot more that I've added to the base which are more locations found outside of Falkreath, but I'll leave that for another post. Which reminds me, next I'll be talking about some of the interiors of some of the buildings which I'm working on. Stay tuned.

Hey, it's Destana again. I was captured for a while (3 months for me, 3 days for everyone else). We've been fighting an ongoing war with the Thalmor, who seek to conquer Skyrim. Cyrodiil is in turmoil, and a sizeable portion of the Imperial Legion are taking refuge here, but helping us in the war. General Sialius is here, helping direct the fight. We lost Riften, Falkreath, Morthal, Markarth and Helgen (and all associated forts). But we won at Whiterun with two dragons. Then we used the elves' own magic against them (thanks to my genius son Damien, who grew horns) using a combination of Stormcloaks, Imperials, Forsworn, and my own stealthy assault to take back Markarth. We talked about a deal with Hammerfell. Before General Sialius left, he said, "We're going to continue the campaign and reclaim Falkreath tomorrow. Damien said he's ready. But our soldiers need to rest." Hrolf had said after the battle he had more work for me, so I headed to Solitude with Fenrir and Runa (Serana had vampire business to attend to). When we got there, Damien and Hrolf were making small talk. "Oh, hey Destana," Hrolf said, "I have an idea concerning this possible alliance. A little while back Hammerfell sent us a letter asking for help in dealing with a certain problem that's beyond their reach. Seems that before the Dominion withdrew from Hammerfell, one Thalmor officer named Ortranil comitted a number of atrocities against civilians. Sadly, he was never brought to justice. Infact, he how captains a scouting vessel, the Wizard's Whisper. Coincidentally, some fisherman off a village called Innsmouth reported seeing that vessel trapped in ice north of the coast. You see where I'm going with this?" "I get it," I said. "Leave no witnesses. Not a single one," he replied, "Speak with Gorth the Well Spoken on the northern coast between Innsmouth and Dawnstar." "Who's coming?" I asked. Runa and Fenrir nodded, like, 'Of course we're coming.' "I'll come this time. It's been a while since I went on a proper adventure," Damien said. "Cool. Ever heard of Innsmouth?" I asked. "Nope. Maybe it's a new village," Damien replied. We split the teleportation to Dawnstar, hopped in small boats and traveled down the coast. Not a long way. Down the coast was the unknown village of Innsmouth. When we reached the boats, they were shoddily moored at posts (no docks to speak of). Strange Ice Giant-like men (but in blue crystal armor) moved loaded boxes onto ships. Didn't know the seafarers up here were so friendly with the giants. I approached Gorth the Well-Spoken and said, "Did you spot the Thalmor ship? Can you take me to it?" He grumbled something incomprehensible and then said, "Let's go." It seemed like no time and we we making icefall. Runa and Fenrir leapt off the boat while Damien and I stayed up and fired spells at the ship. We fought and won, then we scoured the ship for more Thalmor. They never saw it coming. I went into the hold and found a bunch of naked Khajiits. Two of them were fucking. Okay. I left them to do their business. We teleported back to Solitude and reported completion. He sent us to kill some Draugr after that - which was easy. Damien went back to Solitude to report completion and the rest of us went back to Windhelm. We'd made a lot of progress in the remainder of the day after the Hammerfell meeting. For the first time in a while I decided I would sleep with the rest of the world and wake for the battle. I got up very early, before dawn. "So they made you High King, eh?" "Jura! I saw you with the delegation. How have you been? It's been years. Been since the Battle of the Red Ring." "Too bad you didn't stick around for Part 2 in Hammerfell. Valerius Artora and his guys came and lended a hand," General Jura replied. "I heard he was living in Helgen. Sadly, killed by Thalmor. But Destana killed that cell," Ulfric said. "I see you also have General Sialius, Commander Balfhe and Commander Hrolf on your side in this fight. It's a regular reunion of the last Great War. Some of the best military minds here. In Hammerfell we're calling this the 'Second Great War," Jura said. "It would all be for nothing if not for the Dragonborn on our side. Making this possible against the damned elves and their overwhelming numbers and their damned magics." "She's your queen too. She's really something. Heard a lot about her," Jura folded his arms, his expression a mix of stoic and judging his friend's reaction. "Destana is a force of nature. She reminds me of you in the old days - you know how we would sneak off and tackle ruins while the other men slept? And that one time we brought some others you swept through that Ayelid Ruin filled with ghosts like a wildfire, leaving the rest of us in the dust? She does that with our Ancient Nord ruins with the draugr. She dragged me along a few times and damn. She was the one who convinced the Jarls to moot. She was the one who finally cemented me in this position. And she forced me to marry her. Not that I would argue with that woman. Beautiful too," Ulfric explained. Jura raised an eyebrow, then calmly said, "Really? I do remember you were pretty 'fond' of me. You're attracted to power, aren't you?" Ulfric grinned, "I always feel like I need someone to challenge me to get better. But that was ancient history. But she's a big believer in free love, just like you were." "I heard she's also with some vampire princess," Jura replied. I stepped in through the side door, "I heard my name a couple times. You guys talking about me?" "Yeah. Mostly about how amazing you are," Ulfric replied. "I thought you were heading back to Hammerfell," I said to Jura. "I took the diplomats to the border, and I heard about how you swept through Markarth, and how you got rid of that Thalmor ship for us. By the way, those Khajiit slaves stole the ship, currently in High Rock somewhere. I figured you were probably going to go after Falkreath next. And I asked the Alik'r if any of them wanted to come back with me and help out. Naturally, about half of them wanted a chance to see some real action with me, and you." I nodded, "Glad to have you." The kids and been gathering around as we talked, so I started. "This one's not going to be the same as the others. It's not a completely walled city. We're going to sweep through in multiple directions, just like the Thalmor did," I said, leading everyone to the map room, "We have men positioned from the east, ready to attack. Our group, and the Alik'r are going to storm the main entryway to the west." "Our old sanctuary is just outside Falkreath. It got refurbished. Want some of my guys to soften up the Thalmor commanders?" Runa asked. "Sounds good. Coordinate with them to take out a few targets just before we arrive," I stamped my hand on the table, "This is going to be another sweep. We can save Damien's magic for Riften." I teleported the group to a town down the road to the west of Falkreath (and had to make another trip for the ten Alik'r), Runa peeling off to the Sanctuary to give some orders. We carried on down the road while she prepared. On the road, still clear out of range of the city, we found a Thalmor patrol, so we hid to the side. "Do you use stealth a lot?" Jura asked. "Often, yes." "I'm just used to wading in, spells blazing, sword swinging," Jura replied. Before they reached us, though, a Giant and Giantess burst from the forest and started to completely level the group. We stepped up and helped out. These were giants I'd never met before, but the Giant turned to me and bowed his head, "You Des.. Dest..." "Destana," I said. "We here, fight battle," the Giantess said. Jura smiled big, "You're friends with the Giants?" "Mom's friends with everybody, eventually," Fenrir slapped Jura on the back, "Or they end up dead if they try and mess with her." "Well then, follow me to the city!" I smirked. In little time, it was ready to start the assault. Still before dawn. I heard several yells, signaling Dark Brotherhood arrows hit their marks, or daggers as the case may be. "Charge!" I shouted, the Alik'r and my kids on my heels. The giants tore open the gates and we waded in. The Stormcloaks entered the city from the east at the same time. Though planned, this was much more chaotic. Small pockets of fighting broke out throughout the town. Townspeople rose up with us and stabbed their Thalmor occupiers in the back. A pocket of Thalmor gathered between a building and farm to the north, peppering us with attacks. Seconds later I heard a mighty roar from the sky. "Dovakiin! Dova Aav Kiin!" Oh gods, now is not the time. "Paarthurnax sends his best!" The dragon shouted, and blasted the pocket of elves with a cone of flame. I smiled as my brain did the legwork. He said, "The dragons join the war." Runa, Fenrir and Jura were all taking on groups of Thalmor by themselves, the Stormcloaks still fighting the major force at the east end. I alternated healing and buffing, sending arrows to every enemy I could. As the Thalmor broke, Stormcloaks flooded in, and I noted Imperial Legionnaires sprinkled amongst them, now unabashedly working together. In only moments, the battle was over. This town, made of mostly wood, was now on fire. The Alik'r, Stormcloaks, Imperials, and mine all pitched together to put out fires. "Wait..." I suddenly said. "STRUN - BAH - QO!" I shouted, the skies filling with clouds, rain beginning to pour. Jura smiled at me (only a little), "I've heard about the power of the Dragonborn. Most impressive." "Well that sounded genuine. Nothing really affects you does it?" I smirked. "I'm 60. Seen four large scale wars. Probably killed ten thousand monsters," he smirked back. "Well, maybe this will move you," I said, "The Dead Man's Drink looks like it's relatively undamaged. Drinks are on me." I bid the giants and dragon farewell, and we walked in. Unfortunately, the barkeep seemed to have flown the coop while the Thalmor were occupying. Door unlocked, but nobody home. I hopped behind the bar and noticed the whole army was starting to file in. "So what're you drinking? Nevermind. They seem to only have Ale." I started serving up to everyone and I left a large sack of coins in the lockbox when we were done. After a couple hours, the men were mostly returning to their duties, leaving the area. Runa, Fenrir, Jura and I sat around a small table in the middle of the room. "You've been around," I said, "Care to tell me about some of your adventures?" "I've been all over. Spent my early years in Hammerfell. Joined the Legion, fought in the Great War. Helped reconcile the Crowns and Forebears. After I semi-retired, I went north and helped High Rock with some of their problems (mostly monster hunting) and was made an honorary knight. Spent a few years in Skyrim (that's where I got the dragonbone for my armor, dragons were nearly extinct in the old days) then traveled around Morrowind, Black Marsh and Elswyer before I returned home and took a desk job with the Hammerfell military.
