About This File

This is an expansion of Princessity's Arachnophobia mod. I know there already is one, but that didn't quite fit me, so I did my own. In this version the cocoon is not the only peril a spider puts you in. You will also be equipped with cobweb devices which you need to find your way out of.

Struggle yourself free:
While the cocoon has only a limited duration you can also try to struggle yourself out of it by using the W A S D keys. Holding the right key down will progress your escape, while holding the wrong key (or several at once) down will drain your stamina even faster. The required key will change in random time intervals. The bigger the spider the longer the cocoon lasts by default and the harder it is to struggle out of it.

This mod builds around stamina as a core mechanic, so engaging higher level spiders without investment into stamina is ill-advised.

Cobweb devices:

While in a cocoon a the game will try to equip a device on you every five seconds. So the faster you get free the less devices will trouble you. "Try to equip a device" means the game will choose one of four equipment slots at random and if you do not already wear a device in that slot one will be equipped. Due to missing models devices will only be equipped to female actors and only to the player or her follower, so other NPCs don't get stuck indefinitely. You also have a chance to avoid a device equal to half your poison resistance. (it's only half so items like Hevnoraak don't trivialize this)

Requirements:
Devious Devices 5.0 and all of its requirements.
ZaZ Animation Pack.

Known incompatibilities:
-other versions of Arachnophobia

-mods that change the spit attacks of Frostbite Spiders

-Deviously Cursed Loot's Bondage Lover setting (Consequences -> Uncontrollable Lust -> Bondage Lover) will prevent the devices from being destroyed on unequipping them. This is not a game breaking issue, however.

What's New in Version 1.2.2b

Released

1.2.2b

- fixed an issue with the rooting script, it should now hopefully work for everyone

1.2.2

- devices are now equipped at the end of the cocoon instead of every five seconds during the cocoon (the latter was done because DD 4.x was a lot slower at equipping the items)

devices will not be equipped if beastiality is enabled to not conflict with the animation triggered

- you can now freely move the camera and access the inventory while cocooned (I changed how the player gets restrained during the cocoon to setting their movement speed to 1%)

this can potentially conflict with other mods that change the movement speed while you are cocooned, if you encounter any issues please let me know

this can potentially conflict with other mods enabling player controls while you are cocooned (don't (un-)equip any devices while cocooned, as that resets player controls)

- added an MCM option to halt all combat while the player is cocooned

this is done with a giant calming cloak and can potentially conflict with any other mods using illusion effects while you are cocooned

- added an MCM option to always equip a full set of devices if the victim gets exhausted during the cocoon

this again will not fire if beastiality is enabled

- added MCM options for struggle and poison damage stamina multipliers and the grace period

- moved beastiality to its own MCM page, this looks pretty empty for now but will probably fill with more options as the mod evolves

- added an MCM option to equip a full set of devices on the player after having sex with a frostbite spider

this will fire on all spider sex scenes, not just the ones caused by this mod (only on the player and not on NPCs, though)

1.2.1

- tripled the speed of the spider spit projectile, maybe they will actually hit some now

- updated cobweb devices to use Beast Races refit and male models as those are now part of the core DD package

if you did not install those some devices will be invisible on beast races / males

male devices can be disabled in the MCM

- overcapping your poison resistance over 100% no longer increases device avoidance chance past 50%

- added an MCM option to enable spider sex animations, this is disabled by default

for now such a scene is only triggered if the victim exhausts while in a cocoon (runs out of stamina) and the spider who cocooned it is still alive at the end

Are you guys into this or is it wasted effort to go deeper into it? I kinda need some feedback here.

1.2.0

- updated the scripts to use the new DD 5.0 framework, this means DD 5.0 is a requirement now

1.1 is still up for download for legacy reasons but will no longer be supported

- fixed various issues that came with restraining the player in the cocoon and/or equipping the armbinder

credits to lastbytescout who fixed and released this before

- added a slider to display progress

the slider is copied from Frostfall, due to which this mod is now published under the MIT license

- added an MCM option to strip the player on cocooning

- Frostbite Spiders now deal no damage to you while cocooned, but instead their attacks reduce your progress towards escape

1.1.0

- added an MCM, you can customize about everything this mod does there

- devices will now be equipped on NPCs, which will struggle out of them automatically after a random time interval of 30 to 180 seconds

- added a new body restraint that will block the armor slot, but unlike the other not tie your legs

- Frostbite Spiders can now inflict the Bone Break Fever and Rattles

- you can now no longer struggle if your stamina reaches 0

- added Controller Support: you can change the struggle keys in the MCM, keep in mind that buttons which open menus will still do so, I recommend to use the shoulder keys
