Long Description

Are you a millennia old vampire and tired of living in Harkon's dreg heap of a castle? Are you looking for class and luxury and a place to live your devious, bloody vampire fantasies?
Fortunately Baroness Nora Karlov had to leave Skyrim on urgent business of the realm, and she was kind enough to grant you living rights in Karlov Manor during her absent.

This mod adds a medium size manor to Skyrim. It is kept in a dark fantasy baroque style fitting for a vampire character or similar. The castle is located west of Solitude lighthouse, or accessible via the console ("coc ACCastleEx").
The manor features a large living area with various rooms. In an underground area you'll find thrall dungeons for your bloody needs, as well as crafting areas. Furthermore, this mod adds a gothic church/chapel dedicated to Molag Bal. Besides the mod adds various locations I used in my story blog "Of Blood and Pleasure" accessible via the main hall and a secret area.

In more detail the main manor features:

  • An entrance hall
  • Kitchen
  • Dining/ballroom
  • Master bedroom including bathroom
  • Trophy & weapon room
  • Church dedicated to Molag Bal
  • Various guest rooms
  • Gallery
  • Crypt
  • Basement storage area
  • Crafting areas
  • Prison
  • Attic
  • Atelier
  • A courtyard (Exterior)

High Rock

  • Villa Adraa, a large, Renaissance style villa in it's own worldspace
  • Villa Valek, a medium sized abandoned villa.
  • A Noble house located in High Rock
  • Sanctuary, a destroyed church in the High Rock Worldspace
  • Ruined Cathedral
  • Fallen Shrine & Courtyard

Hammerfell

  • A new Hammerfell worldspace
  • City of Al Mahan
  • Palace of Al Mahan with private Quarters
  • Palace Garden and Bath

At the entrance there is such a gap on both sides. I could probably fix it, but well the next update would rewrite it. Image

Wow, that bug must be there since version 1.0 released over a year ago!
Thanks for reporting! I'll fix it in the next update.

This is genuinely one of the best player home mods yet for Skyrim. I struggle to even call it that, because it's a lot more than a home when you factor in all of the ambient screenshot areas. I'm convinced I haven't even seen everything in the mod yet after over 3 hours of exploring. The Sanctuary was a particular highlight of the mod for me, and I found myself literally spinning in circles as I walked forward to look at all of the macabre paintings. Speaking of which, the artwork featured in the mod is incredible, from the art on the walls to the ones hidden on ceiling murals. Its all placed so well and left me poring over each and every room just to find little hidden details everywhere. I keep entering rooms expecting things to leap out at me from the shadows. The atmosphere here is perfect for an evil character, or really even a lawful good roleplaying to cleanse Daedric corruption and getting lost in the madness. Or that could just be me rationalizing a way to leave it as a permanent mainstay of my load order. I don't even know what I'll end up doing with it all, because I wish I was good enough at screenarchery to take anything worth looking at. In any case, thank you for all of the hard work and dedication put into this mod. It really shows.

Just a suggestion, couldn’t the light of some candlesticks cast a shadow? It would show quite well in the twilight, from the candle lying to the left e.g.: Image Image2

Unfortunately this is not possible as the engine doesn't allow for an arbitrary amount of lights. Your best course of action for improving the look of the game is getting an ENB that supports complex particle lights which gives you the look you're going for.

Yes unfortunately I know the engine. Up to 4 shadows per cell.

Thanks for your reply, I didn't mean to burden you.

wow man this is amazing! I love it so much! :D

The mod works very good for me, i dont seem to have any issues with it except there is no background music when im inside. No piano music or original music either? Do i have to activate something or is it a WIP? ?

EDIT: its the skyrim SE version.

There should be default background music. Check your game settings.

Not sure how to understand this. It's not like high quality custom music is growing on trees.

You can easily assign music you like to specific spaces. (You even get a free hand.)

I am having this problem too, and almost nowhere else, except for a few other mods in their own worldspaces , though I can get around it with various mods to get music on demand (Halo's Wave Radio, Gramophone, etc). It's probably a conflict with another mod, rather than a game setting, I think.

I wanted to commend the author of the mod for a fantastic job. This is indeed one of the best mods I have ever seen. The level of detail and the artistic composition are exquisite, and aside from the music, it runs very smoothly. I am very much hoping that there will be expansions to it in the future.

It has been a little while since I installed Karlov Manor and, I confess, I have not followed your blog (please don't bite me!).

I'm a little confused the with High Rock and Hammerfell Expansions.  There appear to be the Karlov Manor, Karlov Manor with Hammerfell, and....

High Rock? I can't find that.

Do I simply download the Karlov Manor with the expansion I want? Or are the expansions also separate?

I assume your mod occupies a separate world space to JoopvanDie's three expansions on Nexus Skyrim SE, and there is no actual overlap?

Thanks for advice!

They are seperate areas you can access via the coach in the courtyard or via the location access room (reachable via the book on the desk of the masterbedroom. )

I've never heart of Joop's worldspaces, so no those don't have anything to do with my mod.

I found this Vampire House mod quite by accident and just downloaded it.......so far I love it. The only issue that I have so far is that the water in the marvelous bath tub is not recognized by the bathing mod Keep It Clean. This is a known issue with several custom house mods and the following link is a solution that "fixes" the LOTD safehouse sauna.

https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/49855

Hopefully, a patch can be developed that resolves this issue in Karlov Manor.  Please, oh Please, oh please!!!!!!!!

I'm also having this problem -- no music in the main hall or bedrooms. There's music in the cellar, so I'm not sure what's going on. I am using a music replacer for SSE that replaces all the vanilla tracks, so that might be it. Luckily I just have Alexa play Renaissance music (or Chet Baker) for me when I'm in the house.

And lovely bloody work (pun intended). This is the most detailed, beautiful thing I've seen in Skyrim. I just tried to copy some beds from the manor to Stick in Proudspire and Breezehome (unfortunately didn't work) because they look ssssooooooooooooooo much better than what's in Skyrim.

Thank you.

The lack of music is something you need to setup in the Creation Kit, it's simply something I haven't done.

I think with Jaxons you might be able to move beds around, otherwise you need to use the Creation Kit.

First time downloading this mod, and it's absolutely amazing! Very atmospheric and gorgeous. I'm not a screenshotter, but will definitely use this manor as a base during my next vampire run.  Only thing I found somewhat strange was that doors could be different on either side of a transition, but I assume this was done to better match the surrounding aesthetic.

Thank you very much! The doors in the location access room are not meant to be the same on both sides. It's just a quick way of accessing the screenshot locations.
