Long Description

Are you a millennia old vampire and tired of living in Harkon's dreg heap of a castle? Are you looking for class and luxury and a place to live your devious, bloody vampire fantasies?
Fortunately Baroness Nora Karlov had to leave Skyrim on urgent business of the realm, and she was kind enough to grant you living rights in Karlov Manor during her absent.

This mod adds a medium size manor to Skyrim. It is kept in a dark fantasy baroque style fitting for a vampire character or similar. The castle is located west of Solitude lighthouse, or accessible via the console ("coc ACCastleEx").
The manor features a large living area with various rooms. In an underground area you'll find thrall dungeons for your bloody needs, as well as crafting areas. Furthermore, this mod adds a gothic church/chapel dedicated to Molag Bal. Besides the mod adds various locations I used in my story blog "Of Blood and Pleasure" accessible via the main hall and a secret area.

In more detail the main manor features:

  • An entrance hall
  • Kitchen
  • Dining/ballroom
  • Master bedroom including bathroom
  • Trophy & weapon room
  • Church dedicated to Molag Bal
  • Various guest rooms
  • Gallery
  • Crypt
  • Basement storage area
  • Crafting areas
  • Prison
  • Attic
  • Atelier
  • A courtyard (Exterior)

High Rock

  • Villa Adraa, a large, Renaissance style villa in it's own worldspace
  • Villa Valek, a medium sized abandoned villa.
  • A Noble house located in High Rock
  • Sanctuary, a destroyed church in the High Rock Worldspace
  • Ruined Cathedral
  • Fallen Shrine & Courtyard

Hammerfell

  • A new Hammerfell worldspace
  • City of Al Mahan
  • Palace of Al Mahan with private Quarters

Awesome castle, perfect for my Vampire :D I also am a massive Resident Evil fan so even better ;)

Thank you very much :)

If you want a pseudo "quest" to acquire it, you could always have a fight with a bunch of Vigilants of Stendarr and/or Dawnguard that slaughtered one of the denizens, and said denizen's corpse has a key and a letter detailing the place's location.

Yeah, I might do something like this for a quest, thanks for the suggestion.

Does this include NPCs? Big places like this are lonely without those, and MHIYH has been acting up for me...

No, the current version has no NPCs and yes I can see how it would feel empty if you'd use it as a house mod. This version was created with screenshots in mind or a location for a Skyrim screenshot story.

In a perfect world I could use the followers I use in my story blog as servants and people living in my castle, however this is very unlikely to ever happen.

You could try the following:

Type "coc ACBPMain" .... "coc ACEntrance"

CTD for both of these, though it did try it's damnest with the second one!

Use the enboost series

I just did a reinstall, VERY light game with enboost & all the other memory helper shenanigans in by default. No dice.

My PC is... was top of the line last November, however my flashy graphics card needed a better psu, so that got added to The List and promptly ignored.

I'm going to poke around in the CK, too, because it really has no reason to be crashing this hard. ?

I absolutely love this home and I hope the next update includes functioning weapons racks as well as display cases because I can't wait to move in.

They already work, I just put some placeholder weapons there. If you have the technical knowledge, there is an xMarker in the CK that you need to set to disable in order to make the weapon rack and display cases functional.

That's the thing. Unfortunately, I do not have that knowledge. :(

This is just epic. Truly epic. There are a couple of things I picked up that need attention, but I'll just fix them myself.

Just a question (could possibly be a dumb one)...
There are a couple of things you can seemingly "activate", a chair, a goblet and a few others, but it doesn't do anything. Is it supposed to do something?

Thank you for this. By FAR the best vampire themed house I've come across. Well done!?

Thank you very much for your comment and feedback.

Please feel free to post a list of bugs and suggestions you encountered. I'm still working on a new version of this mod so I'd like to fix as many things as possible.

The "activate" thing is a relict of me building Karlov Manor as a location for my screenshot story blog (this one here). I wanted to have certain objects such as chairs or goblets movable and the easiest way to do that, is to make them an activator. That's why they show up as activatable. I got quite some comments about it so I'll fix it in the next version.

Oh okay that makes sense, thank you.

The things I encountered are mostly overlapping textures (One that comes to mind is a windowsill in the church. I'll have to take another walk through and write them down), and lighting issues, where they "pop" on and off.

I also noticed that the tower at the back of the castle is not against the rest of the building.
There are two nirnroot and a couple of grasses floating next to the bridge.

Like I said, it's small stuff. I'll write them down as I find them and let you know.

Thanks again!

Here are some of the things I picked up.

I took screens of the overlaps of meshes as well, but it's really difficult to show the problem on a picture. As mentioned, the windowsills in the church, and then in the room with the Blood and Pleasure portal, there's an overlapping floor, the shelf above the fireplace (on the side of the shelf), and the wall to the right of the entrance to the Golden Room.

Thank you very much for the screenshots & the bug reports. Did you use any kind of light mods, such as facelight/raillight etc. while taking these screenshots.

The light bugs appear due too many light sources hitting an object. I'm always at the maximum when it comes to the amount of light that. When players use extra lights such as facelight or torches you have an additional source that can cause problems.

To counter that I dynamically disable (remove) lights that you can not see and enable them again when you get close enough. This is what you see in the second spoiler of the first spoiler.

Nonetheless thanks, I'll see what I can do and I'll definitely fix the nirnroot and the floating wall.

Yeah lighting was my first real "bang head against wall" issue when I started creating mods. It's annoying.
No, I don't use any light mods whatsoever.

If I come across anything else I'll let you know.

Have a good one!

Both songs are form the youtube library, called Allemande and Opus_One, not sure who the interpreters are, but you'll find them on youtube.

Hello, Love your mod. It is seriously one of the best player homes/areas.

I was facing issues with some of the beds in mansion which have the command use bed, character just stands for few secs and then starts moving again. The beds with Sleep command work perfectly fine tho.

(also does this have map markers/layout? Because whenever I open map in L , its just a big green world space showing)

Thanks for the awesome mod :D
