I learned my lesson, why didn't she?

Before we went to Zdenka’s house to have family lunch we stopped by the flower shop to buy a flowers for moms. My Ivy teased my Prince to take a bouquet for my Fran too. He didn’t realize she was teasing him and he said that men receives flowers only in special occasions. He was right but what he didn’t know is that when you give a flowers to a male gay outside of good manners, it has different meaning; at least in our culture.  It means: I like you and I want to go out (date) with you. So he bought the flowers for him for she told him it is a nice gesture. When we arrived, everyone was there. Dads played cards and watched soccer, moms talked and Zdenka and my Fran cooked. Moms were thrilled with flowers and each of them thanked us and kissed my Prince who gave it to them. When he gave the bouquet to my Fran, he had a big smile on his face and he said to him:

- Well, Prince, must say this is great surprise. Thank you for the flowers. I’m sorry honey, but I’m in relationship. You had your chance and you missed it.

My Prince looked at him very confused not knowing what he was saying.

Fran: I see. Who told you to buy a flowers for me?

Prince: Ivy.

Fran: Ask her why she told you that.

My Prince looked at her and she blasted in loud laughter. She approached to him and while still laughing she deep kissed him saying she was in the mood to have fun. Then she explained to him the meaning of his act. He got red in the face and we all blasted in laughter. He slapped her butt and laughing hard he said he’ll kill her one day.

Anyway, the lunch was fantastic and we had great time together. Mikey was also in great mood and he cooed loudly in the baby stroller sucking plastic toy. The rest of the day and night passed in thundering rainy storm. Of course, my luvs went to our beach and swam while I tried to comfort Mikey who was very afraid of thundering sound. Even my Prince hardly calmed him during the night when thunders roamed near our house. My poor son shook and cried loudly trying to grab his daddy as closer he can. He finally slept after few hours on his daddy’s chest. My Prince called his sister in Monday morning after very short e.b. meeting. He was present via video conference. My Ivy told me that Seka was very thrilled when she saw her big belly and when my Prince told her that she is pregnant. When she saw Mikey she sent numerous kisses and “love you” signs. They talked in sign language and she told him that their mother is still angry at him for breaking Kurt’s nose. My luvs were thrilled when she said to my Prince that she will celebrate my birthday in the *school. (*It’s not a school. It is the institution for children and people with various disabilities, but they rather call it school because it sounds more acceptable to ordinary people).

My Prince and Ivy were out with Mikey this morning. My Prince wanted them to go to “our café” but my Ivy wanted to go to the café where they had incident with two dog ladies. She wanted to see if the owner separated terrace for “pet lovers”. When they arrived, they saw the sign on all three sides: “Pet friendly café, this side”. So they sat on opposite side and ordered juices. My Ivy was feeding Mikey while my Prince talked on the phone with Antonio. Suddenly, the dog lady who gave them problems last time arrived and seeing them she started again. My Prince didn’t see her because he was sitting turned his back on her, but my Ivy did. She tried to be nicer as she could, but the old lady completely ignored her. My Ivy didn’t want to interrupt my Prince's important conversation with Antonio. She went in the café holding Mikey in her arms and she told the waiter about the lady. He came out and asked the lady to go to the pet lovers part. She didn’t want to and the waiter had to use the force. He grabbed her for her arm in which she held the dog leash. The dog understood that the waiter is attacking its master and it started to bark loudly. Loud barking scared Mikey and he started to cry. Hearing him crying my Prince reacted immediately. Seeing what is happening, he went very mad. He kicked the dog two times ( I rather wanted him to slap old bitch because it is her fault, but my Prince is raised to not hit females). The lady tried to slap him, but she couldn’t for she was to slow for him. My Prince called her names and swore at her. Since he wore leather sandals, he immediately got skin rash on the feet he used for kicking the dog. That lady was very angry at the waiter and my Prince. She walked away few meters and called a police.  When they arrived, they heard her story first. She lied my Prince attacked her and her dog without reason and because he is a dog hater. The waiter, my Ivy and Prince said what was truly happen and the police only gave her verbal warning. The waiter permanently banned her from coming to café. He apologized to my Prince and Ivy, didn’t charge them for juices and asked them to come again promising there will be no more problems. He said he will inform his boss about the incident. Anyway, when my luvs came home my Prince had to anoint his feet because it itched him very much and it was covered with ugly rash red spots. When my Ivy told me this when I came home after the work, I was very angry at the lady. I will not say: “ I can’t understand the people like her” because I was like her before I met my Prince. Being mean, vengeful, defiant and similar was very normal to my Ivy and me. Now I see how ugly our character was. But I still judge her. I don't make excuse on my youth saying: " I was young, foolish and immature, but I learned my lesson “on time” and I changed thanks to my Prince. The “question” is: why this lady didn’t learn her lesson? Why she has no manners toward those who doesn’t share same life/dog philosophy. She is at least 3 times older than me and yet, she behaves like she wasted her life in vain. So sad.

The answer is very simple, you cannot teach an old dog new tricks. ???

If both you and Ivy continued your behaviour well into your late forties or early fifties, neither of you would have been truly able to change your ways.?

I regret about the Café incident but it seems to me that lady deserved it. I wonder if not serving drinks to the people choosing wrong terrace sides wouldn't be a solution for the waiter to avoid getting to such extremities.

Now, Ivy usually goes too far with her jokes, but the flowers one was excellent. Tell her I approve that joke. ^^

Nice words play. :classic_biggrin:

In French the expression implies an old monkey instead, so I would've had had to think it over a bit more to manage the same effect. ?

> It is true. the older you are, changing is much harder. Ask Trilog, he knows the best. No matter how hard I provoke him, he is always polite and gentleman. :D

> I will tell her. She is my crazy witch always ready to have fun and my Prince is first on her aiming list because he is such a naive soul and "easy prey". :)

> You see, I don't want to generalize bur old people mostly coming to cafes to spend too much of their free time. They do not make a profit to the cafe business. They order a coffee that is below or close to 1 Euro and they sits for hours taking free space from potential good customers. Anyway, she purposely broke the cafe rule, didn't want to go to pet lovers section when asked and she was aggressive to other customers. In our country, that is enough to ban someone from the cafe. I don't know if you have it in France, but in our country we have cafes where they won't let you in if you aren't properly dressed, I mean if you look like a tramp or if you are beggar. Having money doesn't change their policy.
