> I am sure we have all already learned so far that what is normal and common in one culture, could be abnormal and unacceptable in another culture. Namely, a day ago I saw a video of a Chinese female teacher in an elementary school demonstrating ass wiping by showing the children how to wipe their asses. Of course, she wasn't naked, neither the children. So, after she showed them how to do it, they had to do it the same way. I was surprised they did that in the school but I was also very thrilled they did it. (Sorry, can't provide that video at the moment).

> We as parents taught our children all about personal hygiene. That included ass and genitals wiping and washing too. (My Ivy and I taught it Precious, and my Prince did the same with Mikey). So, when I shared my impressions about that video with our parents and other family members, only my luvs, our moms and dad Boss said it was great they did it. The others were like: "That was disgusting and unacceptable. It should stay within the family, every parent should teach their children to do that." I explained to them that the reason why they teach such things in the school is because, first, not all parents care about their children's hygiene, and second, sometimes they simply can't do it because they are too busy with other things that they forgot to teach their children how to do it. Anyway, they didn't accept my arguments calling them crazy Chinese.

> I think there are many good things we can learn from other cultures no matter how weird they look and sound.

I take it more as the Chinese gov't is attempting to cut down on waste of all kind and something as (to us) silly as cutting down on the amount of material used to clean oneself makes sense.

China is rapidly (some say more rapidly than any other time anywhere in the world Source: https://insights.som.yale.edu/insights/what-should-we-understand-about-urbanization-in-china )

so even minor "excesses" (such as using too much water to cook, using too much water to clean, etc. ) can lead to big issues elsewhere.   While we have culture entrepreneurship (making straws out of paper that won't fall apart) that can fix many of our issues, China still remains a centrally planned economy.  Of course, i don't think that works, but I may be biased.

> Thanks for your insight. I also noticed (our ministry of education and culture too since they showed those videos on national TV) that they have much better body/physical exercises in the schools than we and most of the European countries. And yet, although it doesn't cost them anything, they didn't do anything to copy them and apply them to our children. Are they ashamed of doing it? I don't think so since they are copying all things that suit them from the West. Hypocrites.

No matter how advanced we become, we are still the very same people who lived in the Roman (Sumerian, Greek, etc.) civilization and are driven by the same desire to control, dictate, plan, etc.   However, one thing remains the same , the attitude of "if we didn't come up with it, it has got to be bad" mentality.
