> I have NEVER photo-shopped my pictures when was very active on social forums. I didn't need to. People always saw me as natural beautiful girl that the touch of makeup would expose it and improve it. Photo-shopping of the pictures makes the doer a liar, a poser and a fake. Before we met, my Prince met some girls in person who were very different than on the pictures in weight and face (uglier and fatter). He was angry and disappointed and he stopped trusting the pictures he saw on the net or he got in his mail. I do not support faking. You are what you are and you shouldn't be ashamed of your look. No, I am not saying from perspective: "It is easy for you to say because you are beautiful" and similar. I am saying this from "love and respect yourself" point of view. My mom used to say: "Nobody is so beautiful that everyone will fall in love to, and nobody is so ugly that nobody will fall in love to. If people cannot accept you and love you as you are (your body and soul) they aren't worthy of you." She is right.

> Anyway, although the text under the picture is saying that the girl on the left and the old lady on the right is the one and same person, I hardly can believe, but if they are that this is disgusting lying, deluding and cheating (of the public). Shame!

> Males too faking their images but much less then females. They mostly lie about their jobs, occupation and similar, but it is another subject for some other blog entry :)

I support your Mom's words.

True beautiness comes from within. Everything else is like a bonus, said my Mum.

> My mom is very beautiful woman. She is naturally beautiful and she never uses makeup. I mean, putting some red lipstick on her lips from time to time isn't putting makeup on the face. So, when she and my dad were young, you got what you see. I am blessed because I got the best from both parents beauty and attractiveness, slimness and height.  :)

Although my Photoshop version is long outdated, I know a fair bit of photoshopping myself. And I don't believe the left image (although the skin clearly has been filtered) is a photoshopped version of the right one. So if the elder person used the image on the left, the problem is she used someone else's picture, not the edition itself. :classic_tongue:

Now, what is photoshopping ? Cropping the borders ? Tuning the black and white levels ? Adjusting the colors ? Using filters to remove noise ? Filtering the spots ? Altering the shapes ? There's a whole range of edits one could do with photoshop, from the simpler to the most complex. When is it acceptable, and when is it not ?

The same applies for make-up btw. Is it okay to conceal dots ? To blacken your eyelashes ? To reshape your eyebrowns ? To play on the shades to alter the shapes' impression ? To use false eyelashes or nails ?

Take a look at that, and then look at the beginning of the video. No photoshop, just pure make-up :

So IMO, regarding image editing and make-up, whether its cheating or alright depends on the extent ; since at maximum extend both allow considerable changes compared to the truth underneath. :classic_wink:

EDIT : btw, not judging Archie (the guy doing the make-up tutorial), whether on his skills (which are amazing) or how he uses them (not to mention his appreciable humor ^^). A lot of dragqueens and/or transgenders use those kind of tricks, and they're free to do as they wish. It's just that his tutorial shows how vast the differences between no make-up vs an extensive mastered one can lead to a dramatically different result. ?

There is a way to look great!   It is in the spoiler:

> Everything that someone uses out of extreme presenting himself/herself in different light, so different from original that is unrecognizable to unbelievable extent, is cheating and lying. Every normal person would agree and accept balanced and minimal esthetic changes or covering face imperfections which everyone of us have.
