Mods removed as the potential cause of issues. Importantly, I'm not claiming anything definitive here, or negative about the mod. The cause of the issue could be mod interaction, or something totally separate. All I know is that, in my build, removing this mod removed the issue. YMMV.

Current Aylis version: 3.06 (this list is reset each time I "true up" with Aylis--see below for gory details of history).

Here's a fun one: in Chillwood Depths, right after you kill the initial spiders, going down the corridor causes a CTD. Instead of chasing it down mod by mod, you can avoid it by ... wait for it .... walking backwards.

<s>SmoothCam freaked the fuck out</s>. Cannot get 3rd person to reset, even changing between different presets doesn't help.

 Jettisoned it to the BadList.

Some weapons show a damage of 0 when looted. Unsure why.

Need to make sure quivers and pouches unequip for SL scenes.

Find a working multiple rings solution. Or not.

Just ran into 2 Mira's. Blonde warrior type. Not sure why she is twinned.

 Sha is nekkid.

	#GENERAL CTD TROUBLESHOOTING HINTS

As always reproducibility is the key. Get a full save before it happens, start removing mods.

Backup both your modlist and plugin list in MO2. This makes the routine

Disable an entire section (you'll learn to make better guesses as you go as to the cause)

Load game, load save, move to the CTD and either shrug and move on or celebrate that you found the right section.

Once in a while, you will get a SAVE FILE IS CORRUPT message. Don't panic--this generally just means you deleted too much. Exit, restore your mods and plugins, disable fewer things, try again. You'll figure out what mods are so foundational they cannot easily be disabled en masse.

If you didn't find it, 2 clicks restores both the modlist and plugin list from the backup, move on to the next section.

 Once you find the section

Do the "by half" thing--enable half of them, try again.

	Here's the current crew

 Inigo. Everyone's favorite blue cat.

 Lydia. Everyone's favorite housecarl. H/2H.

 Melisandre. Healer. L/1H.

 Recorder. L/2H.

Brianna Crestfallen. Pack mule tank. L/2H.

 Ygritte. Archer support.

Vilja and Alana are hanging out in WhiteRun.

One note: I usually set everyone other than the tankmule to highly defensive in NFF. The followers job is to hang back and support while I hop in front of them and do the bulk of the fighting. That's the idea, at least.

	All praises to https://www.loverslab.com/topic/118460-skyrim-se-for-beginners-v-305-3bbb-hdt-smp-hph/#comments .

This blog will begin as a place to track ongoing issues with my SSE build. Hopefully, the build will become stable enough to then write some narrative. But we'll see. But, in the meantime, I hope to make notes that might help others trying to get a stable build. An incredible outcome would be a fork of Aylis' build that others could use for reference. I don't know I'll ever get it that stable, though.

My build differs from Aylis' in some key ways

I changed to Cathedral Weather, as it chews up far less of my CPU than Obsidian.

I like lots and lots and lots of NPCs and followers.

I don't have any of the creature or non consensual LL stuff installed.

I don't have either DynoDoLOD or Nemesis installed, although I probably will do Nemesis shortly.

I don't have an ENB installed. I had Ruby, but again the CPU load was very high and the extra time to load the game while troubleshooting CTDs was maddening.

All of that means I'm pretty much building off Aylis' build as a framework. I understand everything that I do that deviates is likely to add more instability. The lists below focus on the differences between our builds. This is not meant to be used independent of Aylis' build: you still need to follow his notes and instructions as you go.

The comments right after this will detail the differences with the current Aylis Build. I have omitted optional things that Aylis has that I don't, as those are largely issues of personal preference. There are some exceptions to this. Key:

Both of us have this, in this order.

Both of us have this, the order is different.

I have this, Aylis does not.

Aylis has this, I do not.
