"I was ten the last time I came to Windhelm, I mixed this road up with another one, I'm sorry."

 

"It's fine, let's just make camp here tonight we can continue out in the morning."

 

 

 

 

"Tent is all set, I suppose since we're here we might as well enjoy the hot spring for a little while."

 

"I suppose we could do that."

 

 

 

 

"Oh this is nice."

 

"It's been a very long time since I've been able to enjoy the hot springs here."

 

"Wait when did y-  Fuck you, you did this on purpose!"

 

"I knew you'd never agree to get off track from Windhelm to enjoy something you didn't know was this good.  Don't worry I know exactly where we are, we should reach Windhelm in a day, two at most."

"Well here's a town you think they have someone who can read Aldmeris?"

 

"Don't get your hopes up, it doesn't look like much of a town."

 

"We'll never find a translator with that attitude Micah!"

"Yes miss?  What brings you out here to our town?"

 

"I'm on my way to Windhelm, I thought I might ask if you have someone who can read Aldmeris."

 

"That elf speak?  I don't want anything to do with those damn elves."

 

"Why might that be?"

 

"Those damn elves are trying to get the Empire to restrict our worship of Talos!  My nephews in the Legion, he told me the elves might go to war with us over it, I won't have anything to do with em!"

 

"I hadn't heard about that, do you think there might really be war?"

 

"I don't know, there hasn't been war in Skyrim for a hundred years, we need to find someone who can read Aldmeris for your book."

 

"For all the good our searching is doing we might as well ask him."

 

 

"Alicia get down from there!  You'll hurt yourself!

 

"It's so beautiful up here Micah!"

 

 

"It's everything I left home to see!"

 

 

"Micah?  What are you doing here?"

 

"Your mother sent me Alicia."

 

"What!  No!  I'm not going back!  She can't make me, and neither can you!"

 

"Relax Alicia, I'm not here to drag you back, your mother told me you were leaving and asked me to go with you to keep you safe."

 

"I'm perfectly capable of taking care of myself Micah."

 

"I know you are, if it's what you want I'll turn around and go back to Riften."

 

"Well since you're already out here and all I suppose you can stay, wanna sit down by the fire?"

 

 

 

 

 

"So what about being a guard?"

 

"I turned in my arms and armor, and resigned, it's not like I'm needed, there hasn't been war in Skyrim in over a hundred years, I don't want to spend my whole life as a guard against sweet roll thieves."

 

"It's much more safe inside the hold, being a sweet roll guard, you get hurt out here."

 

"So could you, yet you're here, why'd you want to leave?"

 

"I couldn't stand being locked up inside the city walls for any longer.  Maybe one day I'll settle down somewhere safe and stop moving but I want to see the world first."

 

"Kind of always felt the same, wish I'd had the courage to leave on my own."

 

"It is pretty exciting being out here."

 

"You know I have always liked you, ever since we were kids."

 

"Oh."

 

"Oh?"

 

"I think I might just go on to bed Micah, I suppose I'll-"

"Mom! I only went down the road!  I can't believe you sent Micah and the other guards after me, it was so embarrassing!

 

"You could have been hurt!  Anything could have happened outside the walls it's too dangerous for you out there!

 

 

"But you and father were both adventurers, it's not fair!"

 

 

"That was a long time ago Alicia."

 

"Why would you want to go out there anyway sis, stay here and play!"

 

"If father were here he'd say I could go, he'd be supportive of me."

 

"Well he's not here is he?  Your father did has he always does and got himself locked away in the town jail."

 

"On a false murder charge and everyone knows it!"

 

"He shouldn't have spoken out against the thieves guild, he should have thought about what it would do to us."

 

"I don't have to sit here and hear you speak about father like that.  I think I'll just go see him, he'll tell me I can go."

 

"Go and see your father if you want, but I don't care what he tells you, you aren't going anywhere young lady."

 

 

 

 

 

"Mother can't tell me what to do, I'm a grown woman, I can make my own decisions."

 

"Good morning Alicia!"

 

"Morning Mr Medici, can I ask you something?  Do you think I'm tough enough to be on my own?"

 

"Alicia I've never met a girl as fierce as you are, I'm sure you'd do just fine out in the world."

 

"Thanks Mr Medici!"

 

"If Mr Medici thinks I can do it, I don't see why I can't!"

 

 

 

"Alicia, come to visit your father again?"

 

"Yes Haegrim, mind if I head on in?"

 

"Of course not but don't make it a long visit, I got in trouble for letting you in last time."

 

"Thank you sir."

 

 

"Father!"

 

"Alicia!  It's so good to see you dear, I've missed you."

 

"I missed you too father, why are here?"

 

"You know why Alicia, I did something I shouldn't have and now I'm being punished for it."

 

"But you only did the right thing!"

 

"I know Alicia, and I'm sorry."

 

"Father?  Me and mother got into an argument."

 

"You two are always at each others throats, what about this time?"

 

"I want to leave Riften, I want to go and start my own life, see the world, like you and her did when you were young.  She doesn't think I can do it."

 

"Alicia, you're young and the world isn't as exciting and full of adventure as you think, I learned that the hard way.  But if it's what you want you should do what you want, life's too short for anything else."

 

"You'll let me go then!?"

 

"Not like I can stop you from in here can I?

 

"I guess not, thank you father."

 

"Times up Alicia, you need to head home."

 

"I've made up my mind, I'm going, I'm going to see the world!"

 

 

"Alicia!"

 

"Yes Mr Medici?"

 

"I just found something someone sold me awhile back, I figured a young adventurer might have more use for it than me!"

 

"A book, what's it about?"

 

"No clue, I can't say I'm much of a reader, I've never had time to sit down and open it.  Why don't you tell me what it's about when you're done with it?"

 

"Thank you sir I'll make sure to let you know all about it when I get back!"

 

"Oh Micah, what are you doing here?"

 

"Alicia I just came to apologize for this morning."

 

"Micah there's nothing to apologize for really."

 

"Good then, I'll be going back to the watch."

 

 

 

"Mother, I've decided, I'm leaving."

 

"I beg your pardon young lady, just where do you think you're going?"

 

"Out of Riften, I want to explore the world and see everything."

 

"No you're most certainly not child."

 

"Mother I'm an adult I can make decisions for myself and you can't keep me here, I want to see the world and I'm going."

 

"Fine then.  If you think you're all grown up then just go.  Pack your things and go.  And when you realize the world isn't what it's cracked up to be and that your mother was right, we'll still be here when you return."

 

Goodbye mother, I'm going to travel the world and see all of Skyrim!"
