About this blog

A collection of a few entries from the preboot cassinuity that I still like or I think are notewrothy somehow. Collected together into group entries (where appropriate) and with some extra notes and ramblings. All entries have been backdated to (roughly) when they were originally posted. This blog will not be updated (other than perhaps to add more vintage entries). For new Cassidey please look HERE

This is just an archive/index of the entire preboot series. Mostly just here for people who wanted to go look at a specific episode I didn't feel was worth featuring in the "best  of" classic lineup. For new Cass please go HERE and follow there for future stories!     Preboot Stories: The Miseducation of Erik The Slayer Part 2 The Miseducation of Erik The Slayer Part 1 The Case of the Mysterious Count Part 2 Cassidey X Stranger: Part 4- Epilogues and Happy End

The Miseducation of Erik The Slayer Part 2

The Miseducation of Erik The Slayer Part 2

No More Misadventures... In a lot of ways I don't think I could have asked for a better chapter to end the first incarnation of Cassidey's journey on- this has all the subversiveness, all the parody, all the twists and everything else I have ever taken pride in about my stories. It is not necessarily my favorite but I am definitely proud of it.

The Miseducation of Erik The Slayer Part 1

The Miseducation of Erik The Slayer Part 1

This series has the distinction of being the sendoff to the Preboot universe and also having been written AFTER the first two chapters of the reboot. Another idea that I had had forever (and once toyed around with in Oldrim and posted on my profile). This chapter was the most difficult I have ever made, it had numerous technical difficulties and required an appalling amount of rewrites to get up to par. In the end I think it all worked out.

The Case of the Mysterious Count: Part 2

The Case of the Mysterious Count: Part 2

After finishing the Stranger story I went back to enjoying my retirement. Feeding the ducks, complaining about young people and minorities, that sort of thing. Then Devianna made a christmas episode referencing several LL authors/characters and I sent her a message on discord to say thanks for including me. We got to talking and eventually decided that our styles would blend nicely. A crossover was born. Read the first part HERE. This entry also marked the introduction of glorious hi poly heads

The Stranger Chronicles

The Stranger Chronicles

By this point I was completely burned out on my story and its over arcing plot and as far as I was concerned the blog was dead. Then Ivy made a small comic series recycling some other author's screens and adding her own text and I decided to make a small reply. It was supposed to be three or four frames, something to post in the comments section of her blog... It ballooned to 46 and was too big for a comments section so it got its own entry. Then people started asking for a continuation. This be

Chapter 43: Dry Spell

Chapter 43: Dry Spell

This was the last chapter of the main series that I was happy with. It shows a bit of Cassidey's lonely side, a theme that would start to creep in more and more in the following standalones and the reboot.

Chapter 42: Cassidey V. Ghost, Dawn of Justice

Chapter 42: Cassidey V. Ghost, Dawn of Justice

My all time favorite chapter and the only one to ever break 50 likes once upon a time in a different blog life. This was another idea I had for ages and had to advance not one but two blogs to the correct point to execute (The Ghost of Solitude will return at some point and in some form). In my opinion the payoff was well worth it. This is the height of the preboot era.

Chapter 39: The Abandoned Shack

Chapter 39: The Abandoned Shack

This marked the introduction of a new face preset for Cass and a new ENB, an overall huge improvement in graphics that lead to a massive spike in the blog's popularity. This was the start of a golden age with several entries in a row hitting 40-50 likes. This idea was also one of the oldest ones I had for the blog and definitely has hints of that old season 1 Skyrim parody spirit.

Chapter 35: A Man In Uniform

Chapter 35: A Man In Uniform

This was one of the last episodes that contributed significantly to Cassidey's personality. It added the little bit of secret submissiveness to her.

Chapter 32: Day One

Chapter 32: Day One

At the time I made this it was my longest chapter ever and another personal favorite. It brought back Anji from the spring break stories and showed a side of Cass we hadn't seen much of before.

Chapter 26: A Clown In Need

Chapter 26: A Clown In Need

After the intolerable slog of season two this marked a return to the more fun, standalone style I had been wanting to do more of for the past year. I really liked this entry and was so happy to be back to this style of story

Season 2- Troubled Times

Season 2- Troubled Times

Season 2 (The thieves guild) was where things really got off the rails for me. The story headed in directions that I immediately regretted and I felt an obligation to resolve everything I had set up rather than move on to things I enjoyed more. As a result it saw me taking several long breaks from writing and took almost a year to complete. It was home to some of my least favorite episodes and only a few I felt were worth highlighting in this retrospective. For all its shortcomings the fact that

Interlude- The Standalones

Interlude- The Standalones

Sometime during the middle of the ill fated season two I lost all of my Skyrim data and quit making stories. Seeing WANOBI's Abuse of Authority inspired me to start up again and I rebuilt everything, redid my mashups and dove back into it. I still wasn't thrilled with the direction season two was going at that point and wanted to work on some things I was more passionate about to get a taste for it again. These standalone chapters were the result and are still some of my favorites (Spooky Skelet

Spring Break

Spring Break

After finishing season 1 I decided to do a few fun little standalone, semi canon mini series of Cassidey's time on her famous spring break. These would be her dirtiest adventures to date and even though they were meant to be their own thing they introduced a few concepts that would remain part of the Cassidey mythos forever after (the fact that she was an orphan, originally meant to start the setup for her accidental killing of Grelod about a year before that ended up happening, her love of jous

Earliest days: Season 1

Earliest days: Season 1

The very first episodes of Cassidey's story are still some of my favorites. I had no idea what I was doing on a technical side so I did my best to make up for it with the dialogue and I think it still holds up as some of my best. Since then a lot of the direct Skyrim parody elements gradually dropped away and I suppose that's inevitable (since there's really only one way you can make the same joke about silly AI or nonsensical quests) but I still like what I did with that stuff here.

Proto Cass

Proto Cass

I've told this story before but before Cass was Cass she was just my racemenu preset. She did her time in two and a half playthroughs and then as I started to get into messing around in outfit studio she became an outfit model. Initially the premise of the story was a series of "seasons" each based around a different vanilla Skyrim faction and with a different outfit to show off for each of them. Everything else came from that so in a lot of ways those first mashups were the spark that became Ca
