  1. We're seeing a lot of false positives this week. I checked with VirusTotal and it looks ok.
  2. We're getting a lot of false positives this week, specifically from people using Windows Defender.
  3. Guys, feel free to ignore whoever you want but listing the ones you do, naming and shaming them and encouraging others to follow suit, is imo a rule 1 infraction. Hid a few posts that did that.
  4. I'll just point out that the thread wasn't immediately locked after Psalam hinted at the site's finances, but after another page of chit-chat about the weight of metals and some related snark. Given the OP's statement they didn't intend to complain I guess it made sense to wrap it up.

Thread cleaned of spillover drama & armchair lawyering. Leave it in peace, it's not what it's for.
  6. I have no evidence that Salamansky is an alt of anyone. It's not impossible, but there's no basis for assuming it either. This project may or may not pan out. If it doesn't it's not the end of the world. If it does, some people are gonna feel pretty stupid.
  7. Enough of all this, please. I guess there's no avoiding people being interested in why something like this goes south but at some point it just becomes morbid. Focus on whoever is getting things done, and treat them well.
  8. And I wouldn't bother responding if you did ask, considering that tone of yours.
  9. The assumption for girls working at an inn would be that they'd at least be sluts, sometimes available for the asking, sometimes for the right price. People would more easily assume it depending on her behavior when doing her normal tasks - banter, flirting, what she wore, the way she moved - and that assumption could still be wrong. They might just be flirting for regular tips, and nothing else. Girls working as servants in a house would not exhibit such behavior toward the employer & sons or they'd be kicked out by the woman of the house, but secret dalliances with the men in the house would still contribute to the overal image of young women in serving jobs being easy.
  10. Well, yes. Mind you, it was a different type of prostitution usually than it was for whores in the city, working the streets and docks. It all depends on the specific situation ofc, but a maid/serving girl in a roadside inn would be more available to men she found attractive herself, and paying her afterwards was more of a gentlemanly thank you, in the same way as tipping her for bringing you drinks. I am basing this mostly on literature set in the late 18th, early 19th century though.
  11. For a long time young women engaged as waitresses in inns often earned some extra cash from prostitution, and in the same way young chambermaids and the like were often persuaded to let their employer or his sons have sex with them. From that concurrence grew the assumption that young and pretty lowerclass women in those type of jobs were indeed 'easy'.
  12. I'd hoped that my closing of the first thread might've been signalled a need to turn things around, but this one's a complete copy created within half an hour of the old one's closing, and all LL seems to have gotten out of them is a ton of drama. These threads' OPs have been extremely brief, with only an intention to steer people away from the site in order to even know what the project consists of, provide feedback, or whatever else you could want people's involvement from. The ID thing led to understandable concerns about privacy, and although this feedback wasn't always nice it was also handled badly. Since there's no mod yet and perhaps never will be - at least in the sense of it being here - the thread's only purpose is PR, and it fails at that. All we're left with is a few dozen reports a day & a certain bewilderment at what we're expected to do with it. If we're to give free advertising to the project, then getting nothing back is already stretching things, but getting drama back is asking for too much. Until there's something to show and a willingness to engage with the LL membership on LL itself, we'd rather not see another thread like this.
