  1. It downloaded pretty fast, must be alot of seeders. I'll be seeding as well if people are wondering about the speed.
  2. Not a samurai sword >.> Maybe Chinese. Not that it matters, just saying.
  3. There is no wrong with worrying here. There's alot of red flags here. We know these companies as pretty good at planning things out and I find it hard to believe they put money into making us a mod manager for our benefit after the game has been released and they've made initial profits. Successful companies don't typically do those things. A Jan release of CS? Needs time to make the CS?lolno, or We need to have a release with less adult stuff out right away so our game doesn't once more get associated with nudey mods and such(lol nude mods still appeared without CS). We wait 2 months, put it out and it'll take a little longer to make adult mods. Prolly safer. That sounds like a believable plan that these guys would make. Releasing a possibly restrictive / data gathering program? Could be innocent or we might get a patch 6 months down that road that forces esps and esms to be vetted by steam workshop before loading. Granted this is a possibly and a worst case one at that, but I'm not throwing the possibility out. I do know they wouldn't do anything right away that seems restrictive since that'd cause a community shock and prolly be negative for them. After all, they still want to sell more copies for awhile. Maybe this is all innocent, but either way, it's raised some red flags for me. I'm worried about it - but only so much that I know we'd end up having to waste a month waiting on all the talented modders to find ways to circumvent any potential vetting program. Hopefully I'm wrong and they already understood this last part as well. I should mention that I like Bethesda and their games, and I'm not a steam hater - I'm just being objective and respecting their ability to run a successful companies.
  4. http://www.skyrimnexus.com/news/article.php?id=37 A change of tone from the Nexus. Their obviously worried. They immediately brought up their risque mods - lol, I find that funny since they ban so many "risque" modders. Anyways, this is a long almost defensive post. Next two months is gonna be interesting me thinks.
  5. Whatever the policy may be, they also made it clear they don't intend to use steam workshop to solely take over the modding scene. They say everyone will still be able to get mods from where ever and now just have an official route available. I know a lot of people hate Nexus but they are a good buffer for this situation. After all, if Nexus wasn't around, they could easily make things restrictive and having the reasoning that they want to make it harder for adult modders to independently make mods. With the main focus of the normal modding community being at Nexus, it protects everyone else, they wouldn't dare try to implement something that kills modding outside of Steam Workshop with the majority of their PC base actively using the one site for mods. If Steam workshop ever became mandatory for getting / activating mods, adult modding would become more difficult imo. Which is not to say someone wouldn't come up with ways to circumvent some kind of restriction, but adult modders don't need more hoops to jump through.
  6. I started modding the other Bethesda products pretty quickly after messing with vanilla. I'm enjoying vanilla quite a bit right now with Skyrim and I'm actually content to wait on adding mods for some time. Hate to break it to you, but that means I enjoy this game a hell of a lot more than the other products(Which I'm not bashing btw, but as a comparison). It's made well in some many ways, there's so many things I actually don't want to mod or change when the opportunity appears. But you are on the money for the adult mods, I really think there is great opportunities for those situationally and technically. Also, adult modders have the experience and resources of several bethesda products at their disposal now. 6 months down the road, and we're gonna have some impressive adult mods imo. We've got a community primed and ready to make some badass stuff, it's gonna be pretty awesome me thinks.
  7. Lol, I don't attack giant bases. I have two separate level 20s now and I'm scared to fight them still. Granted they murdered my first char at a low level and I can prolly beat em now... Still tho, it's pretty cool that there are creatures about that make you stop - access the situation - and actually potentially just walk away and say "Better not." On a separate note, I finished the Dark Brotherhood quest line today. Was freaking awesome imo. I enjoyed it quite a bit and had quite a bit of fun killing targets within those missions. I really enjoyed many of the rich characters within the "family" and actually found myself waiting around to listen to their stories of kills they randomly tell each other.
