So your game doesn't crash every 10 minutes with all those mods?

 

Use this to merge some simple plugins http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/37981/?

Use http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/69905/? instead. It even says so on the mod-page. It's a standalone tool that is less buggy and more userfriendly.

Firstly, if I were you. I'd search for "More Perks" on TaleOfTwoWastelands forum, because you are missing the FO3 version of the mod, and somebody went through the trouble to merge them all into a single esp or ESM.

 

I also think you have too many WME-mods active. I believe you activated all, while some were supposed to be choices. "Only weapons" or "Complete" for instance.

 

You can also merge my MPO scriptaddon mods to a single mod. I haven't had any new bugs reported yet, so I think they are working as intended and won't get updated soon.

 

Lastly, you have several tiny mods that fix only 1 thing or add a bit of x. You might be able to merge those together too.

Anyone know some things I can fix with this to get my load order not being close to 200?

 

 

Firstly, if I were you. I'd search for "More Perks" on TaleOfTwoWastelands forum, because you are missing the FO3 version of the mod, and somebody went through the trouble to merge them all into a single esp or ESM.

 

I also think you have too many WME-mods active. I believe you activated all, while some were supposed to be choices. "Only weapons" or "Complete" for instance.

 

You can also merge my MPO scriptaddon mods to a single mod. I haven't had any new bugs reported yet, so I think they are working as intended and won't get updated soon.

 

Lastly, you have several tiny mods that fix only 1 thing or add a bit of x. You might be able to merge those together too.

 

Wow, I've never done merging before so i didn't know I could vastly shorten my load order.

 

I actually just deleted FNV with all it's mods so I could start over fresh, but I will be using merging in the future.

If you have never merged mods before, my advise would be to start simple. Merge 5 or less mods together to 1 to start. Try to merge them on type of mod.

Outfit/armor mods and weapon mods merge very well.

Newbies shouldn't merge ESM's or ESP's that act like ESM's

Don't merge mods that get regular updates or where an update is announced (Like Maternity Pack Overkill. I hope to release a new version by next month). You can however merge the script addons together, as I have no new plans for those.

 

Avoid big mods or mods with lots of scripts or dialogs (like follower mods).

 

Lastly. If you want to merge a mod, that also has a compatibility patch, add the compatibility patch to the merge /// If you want to get rid of compatibility patches, merge the main mods with the compatibility patches together.  Make sure when merging, that none of the remaining mods require one of the esps/esms you just merged

 

If you or anybody else needs help with merging, just PM me. I don't mind helping. Just make sure I have all the information I need to help you. Like loadorders, install orders etc.

If I'm wanting to merge just the base FNV More Perks mods, is that possible?

Merging plugins, does the following. It picks all references, items, dialogs, whatevers (lets call them records) from each of the selected plugins and puts them together. It will also take all combined 'masters'. When changes to records from masters are done, the plugin lowest of the list will have it's value copied and the rest ignored (like it would have been if the plugins weren't merged, but loose plugins in a loadorder). New records are added top to bottom in the load order. If a new record would get the same number as another record, it gets a new recordnumber assigned, and any and all records that were referencing the newly changed record will get updated to the new recordnumber. This is only done for plugins INSIDE the merge, and not for records that require a plugin, but weren't included. With the way GECK assigned record-ids, it's guaranteed that records need reassignment of recordnumbers.

 

That's why

A: Never merge just 1 plugin. You get a new plugin for an old one and have no gain

B: Never merge plugin that others depend on, unless you can include those. If you can't add one of the depended pllugins, you have to remove the required plugin from the list, or break the requiring plugin.

C: The new merged plugin will always be a non-master esp, and will always load after all esm's and esp's flagged as esm. Unless you know exactly what you are doing. Only merge esp's (that aren't flagged as esm) and not esm's.

 

Lastly. More Perks is one of those plugins that "MergePlugins" tool can't handle. However somebody went to the trouble to merge them all together, using FNVEdit. You can find the result here, with instructions on how to install the mod.
