It's much, much worse. The primary social taboo of old - death - has become the new normal in westernized societies, ever since WW2. We've learned to like the killing, to love death, especially the death of others. I can see it already when I watch my 4-year old playing. In fact, we live in an epoch of propagated violence, it's the modern death cult, the age of high-tech barbarians. 2. i didnt said life does not mean anything, thats impossible as meaning means function and function is direct result of causal process. all that exist is product of causal function hence is by itself part of that function and its meaning. the question is what parts are error/failure and what parts produce maximization of function value (pleasure).  the answer is effective computing power as that allows u to model future to prevent collisions/effort/pain; most effective way for pleasure is science/understanding. following animalistic, collision ridden patterns/drama is boring, tedious and pointless for those aware of pain/pleasure function. drama is about being animal/automated program incapable of solving problem, and defending drama as its way to defend its own existence by claiming effort/problem as desirable and not symptom of its failure.

skyrim absolute garbage as rpg game. or even as action adventure. empty, repetetive, dull, unoryginal with paper thin characters. no mods can fix it as entire plot and most characters/writing would have to be scrapped and redone. not to mention mechanics and large map sections, modders cannot pull coordinated effort of that scale.

Gee. I'll bet your the life of the party wherever you go. And I will decide whether my "thinking" makes any sense or not. So far in life- it has served me pretty well. For me the meaning of life must be inherently subjective because meaning and purpose are subjective by nature. There is no evidence to suggest that meaning/purpose physically exist in the universe as objects or forces of nature.

 

Instead, meaning/purpose are abstract concepts created by a mind. Now whether you believe it is the mind of a person or some supernatural deity is besides the point. In this comparison the only difference is level of sophistication and power.

 

As to what I think the meaning is, I neither care to know nor know to care. If someone else presumes to dictate what life is supposed to mean, I should ignore them as it probably isn't in my interest to accept their views. If I decide what life means, then I have no need to declare it to the world, as it won't be relevant or important to you all. You are different people in different situations with your own needs and priorities.
