So I am figuring out how to convert an armour to the Schlongs of Skyrim body type using Bodyslide and Outfit Studio. With a lot of practice I've been successful, and posted my mod here.

However what you will notice by the images (if not by the comments) is that there's a seam around the genitals of the schlong and balls. The only workaround for this is to have a massive tool (which I tend to anyway), but even then it doesn't blend in with the body properly.

I can't for the life of me figure out why this is the case, as I don't use other mods that alter the SOS male body mesh to cause this kind of issue. I know I am missing something but there are NO tutorials for converting armour to Schlongs of Skyrim (at least not with the penis showing and being fully revealing).

That's a problem with Bodyslide and its base skeleton.

Turns out male and female skeletons have their SOS bones in different positions, possibly done in order to get the schlongs to actually get a proper-looking placement. Anyway, the thing is, BS/OS uses the female skeleton by default, so if you want to work on any male SOS-related mesh like schlongs, bodies, etc., you have to change the reference skeleton to the male one; the only exception would be body armors that don't include the SOS bones and/or stuff like boots or gauntlets.

When you open BS, click on "Settings", and then on the "Browse" button next to the Reference Skeleton field. Select skeleton_male_sk.nif and accept. Now you can open OS and work on male meshes; simply make sure to change the skeleton back to skeleton_female_sk.nif before you work on female meshes and/or want to use BS to generate female outfits again.

As for outfits that have been screwed already (like the one you posted), simply load them up in OS after swapping the skeleton and then save them again; the proper male SOS bone placement should be restored and the files should work as intended afterwards.

If this all works out, then the stage will be set for future male armor and clothing Bodyslide compatibility and Blaze69's tips above can be step #1 in creating male outfit conversions.

Somebody has to actually do a thing and understand how to replicate their success before anyone can write a tutorial for it, after all. It looks like that somebody just might be you.

Not sure what you mean with "Bodyslide compatibility". You can work on male armor and clothing using BS/OS already (hell, I'm pretty sure the male armors from Book of UUNP were created that way; just like both my clothing mods), you just have to make sure to change the skeletons beforehand as I instructed. That's it.

The only thing that may be required would be a slider that goes from one weight to another (_0 to _1 or _1 to _0), so that creating both weight versions of the armors is easier. I've got one such set, going from _0 to _1 (because it's easier to fit female armors to the low weight SOS body and then use the slider to morph them into the high weight one).

Setting it up takes minutes at most, but I could post my set so it can be used straight away. The only extra work required would be an edit to the BS config XML files so that the SOS body shows up in the Reference list in OS to streamline work, but that's it.

This worked a charm. Huge thank you, Blaze! Do you mind if I give you a shout out on my Nexus mod page when I update it very soon (today hopefully)?

As for what you said Faux, I think a tutorial would be frickin' needed. I've learnt how to do what I've done myself with little online help when it comes to SOS related stuff, merely because it's impossible to find any. I've had to find generalized tutorials and learn the rest myself. I'm not a 3D modeler, i just messed with a mesh that already existed from Seedye and adjusted it to fit a body without clipping in BS/OS, then did the CK magic to make my own version of the armour.

Sure, go ahead .

EDIT: made a new post to make it easier to find the guide and BS reference file.

For what it may be worth, here's my SOS weight slider for OS. It includes a "standard" Bodyslide set for the SOS body accessed via the main BS interface, but you should ignore that. This is how it's meant to be used:

  1. Make sure to apply the skeleton change I mentioned earlier, unless whatever armor you want to edit does not include SOS bones (i.e. it's not revealing/the crotch will not be visible).
  2. Fire up OS, select Load Reference, and choose "SOS Male Body" from the list.
  3. Load/import whatever meshes you want to work on, and start. Fit them to the base body, adjust the weights, etc.
  4. When finished, Conform to Sliders, and test the (only) slider: SOS_High, which morphs the body (and the armor) into the _1 shape.
  5. Turn on Edit mode for the slider and fix the _1 weight (because chances are you will get tons of clipping if you use the auto-conform alone).
  6. When finished, exit Edit mode. Export the nif with the slider set to 0 as the _0 mesh and then again with the slider set to 100 as the _1 mesh
  7. ???
  8. Profit.
This should more or less be it, though obviously you need to know how to work with OS first.

Feel free to repost this as part of a proper guide and/or repost my slider set elswhere (like, for example, alongside said hypothetical guide).

Just came up on this topic after googling for how to use SoS with Outfit Studio to edit some SoS-based but customised-bodymesh outfits, and actually came out with BodySlide files and an awesome short tutorial on how to do it all! Thanks all around!

I know this is 3 years old at this point, but would you happen to have the slider for the hand meshes as well? The slider you provide works for the body mesh, but for the hand mesh, the 100% weight option does not match SOS's malehands_1 (palm thickness is off for example).

I'm working on an arm bracer mod. At first, I thought about using either malehands_0.nif or malehands_1.nif along the bracer mod when exporting the mesh for each of the weight variants, but I get mesh-splotions, or double hands. Alternatively, does anyone know of a way of creating a slider from two meshes, the _0 and _1 shapes that ship with SOS?

Nevermind, found a way of importing OBJs as slider data.

For people looking for the process, creating an OutfitStudio slider from two already-transformed meshes, I exported each _0 and _1 NIF files as OBJs using OutfitStudio, then loaded the _0 mesh into OutfitStudio as an outfit, created a blank slider (which I guess sets the base shape), then while in edit mode for the slider (see https://github.com/ousnius/BodySlide-and-Outfit-Studio/wiki/Making-a-new-conversion-reference-(external-tools) ), I imported the _1 OBJ file as data for the new slider. This created a slider that transforms my _0 mesh into the _1 mesh. With some coalescing of sliders, I got one super-slider that recapitulates the body and hand sliders in tandem. I can then do File->Export->NIF to get the proper _0 and _1 files for the game (tried with right-click->export->NIF but that only got the modification from the top-most slider, not the second, nor the coalesced third slider).
