Sexlab keeps playing the same two animations

For the past week or two, I've been having this animation bug where Sexlab will choose one animation to play, then suddenly switch to this or the 4uIDK(?) fisting animation. Disabling them doesn't seem to do anything, neither does disabling the overwrite in ZaZ or foreplay animations for consensual sex. Aggressive animations are not suppressed. This is only a problem with non-creatures, as far as I can tell.

This is what the console says. Apparently t selects one animation and goes through startup, then suddenly changes it right as it's about to start

I hope it doesn't sound too arrogant if i say... if you'd know what's the relevant part of the log, you wouldn't need us to read it. ;)

My best guess is that there is a problem with the mod triggering sex. Did you try different mods triggering sex?

From the screenshots, you character looks like male? Not sure if several mods you have really support males, are you sure they work fine?

 

If anybody else knows the problem or has another guess, i'd try those first because you probably don't want to hear my next guess.

 

Your load order seems quite script heavy, if you really didn't change anything, i would assume that you had stack dumps two weeks ago and scripts from one or more mods are somewhat broken. The point here is... i guess you don't have the logs anymore from that time, and it's impossible to say which mod - or script - it is that causes trouble. You could try to uninstall a couple of mods, use a save game cleaner and see if it works again, but save game cleaners are no guarantee even if you know which mod causes problems.

 

The other two options are: load a save before the problem happened the first time, or start a new game. But even then it's likely the stacdumps happen again and will cause this or any other kind of problem. If you start a new game, reduce your script mods.

Candidates i'd avoid:

- the xpmse.esp (not the whole mod). you don't need the esp for sexlab, only for custom weapon animations and stuff.

- Beeing female. It's great, but quite script heavy, and if you play as a male anyways probably any other pregnancy mod would be better suited, like SGO. Still not exactly light, but less heavy than BF.

- Footprints.

- SL Kidnapped. There are some problems with the current version and vinfamy promised to fix it the next time, upgrading script mods is always risky... i'd wait for the new version.

 

You have a lot of mods i've never tried, no idea how script heavy they are. I don't know if it would be enough to remove the mods above and start a new game.

First thing I reccomend you to do is to go in the last section of the sexlab MCM and deactivate in the right of the top the "Development Version", reduces script stress a lot.

The same thing was happening to me with the old version of zaz and in particular was the "zaz main patch".

If you don't have it download the last version of zaz that are only 2 files instead of 3.

If you already have the last version try this:

1 Go in the sexlab menu;

2 Go again to the last section;

3 Reset the animation register;

4. On the right do "Suppres Disabled Animations" or something like this :); This will remove the animation that you have not selected from the list. (It won't delete them completly, you can reset them from there if you need).

5.Reset again the animation register.

6. Now add the animations from the other's mod menu (like zaz. remember that in the zaz menu you have to press only register and not rebuild)

7. Return to the sexlab menu and deactivate the zaz animations you don't like and will probably work.

 

Note: Everytime you suppress disabled animation you'll probably have to register again zaz animations

 

This is a stupid tip: Make sure you have the latest version of every sex mod and fnis to.

? I'm not sure what you're refering to, you never needed 3 files for ZAP. http://prntscr.com/fxzwlm those two arrows point to the two files you need for the old version. The file above is the new version, but not all mods are upgraded and compatible yet and it can cause problems to upgrade now.

Besides that, there is no reason to register the animations in the first place. At least all mods i know using them call them directly from ZAZ, so it doesn't matter if they are registered to sexlab or not. Just leave them be.

This is an event triggered by a script in Things in the Dark. I tried starting sex with Cursed Loot's Solicitation function and got the same result. 

By relevant, I meant the part where Sexlab starts up its animations. Otherwise it'd be 2 mb in size.

My character is a woman. It is a little hard to tell from that angle, sorry.

I'll try turning off some of those mods and rebooting ZaZ yet again. I understand I've gone a little overboard, but creature sex doesn't have this problem and it's a little too late to start over with this playthrough for me. Maybe I'll just cycle animations manually for variety if all else fails?  :blush:

I know what you meant, but the parts before that might be more important, can't tell it without seeing.

The point about stack dumps is: if that's the reason, it won't become better. Most likely it won't even stay as bad as it is. If your game is too script heavy, they will break things again and again, and you'll never know what's next. If you're lucky it's something you don't even notice, a script that is restarted anyways without a check if it's running won't be much of a problem.

If it's a script from RND for example you'll not getting hungry anymore, or you won't get less hungry by eating food. If it's a script that is necessary to start or finish a quest will not allow you to continue playing the questline, including vanilla quests. And with some scripts you'll just CTD after loading the save before the last one.

 

As long as you don't run less script mods, all of the above will happen sooner or later. If you've played a quest (mod) to a certain point and you don't want to play it again but just see the end, you can try to finish it. But keep playing because you are so far and your character is so high... you won't have much fun with this save.

And you don't need to ask for support for any mod because it's not the fault of a single mod, or something somebody else could fix. The problem is your mod list and your save, and only you can change it.

 

You don't have to use all the three files, now you need only the first one. 

 

But the way, all animations even if used directly from zaz are controlled by sexlab framework.

 

1. No, you need either the first, OR the other two. And until now, the first one can cause problems, the other two files are recommended.

2. No again. That's just wrong. *edit: at least in this context.

Ran some test games on earlier saves before I installed a bunch more mods, I think the problem occurred recently but I'm not really sure. The good news is that I got a different animation to play on a fairly recent save, so there's hope to unravel this mess.

Defeat apparently can affect what tags are checked even for consensual animations, I'm wondering if that may be causing something. I'm going to start comparing the tags of each animation that gets called and see if there's a pattern.

EDIT: Saw a Beeing Female stack dump in my papyrus log. I think I may switch to the other mod you recommended in the future.
