Making my own graphics... Sure, but how (the complicated ones)?

Recommended Posts

Hi there.

I'm Lupus, I have a total overhaul guide for SSE in Nexus, while I'm helping with graphics several mods (like RLO, SuperbSerana, Yuriana, for example).

Changing tree trunks' textures or leaves or making a custom skin or... its not that difficult (to me).

What IT IS difficult (to understand how), is making custom textures for COMPLICATED objects like armors, weapons, statues, etc. Because, these have many-many different parts, all over placed (on the texture dds) and I can't "separating" them easily following another texture.

So, how am I suppose to get the ACTUAL TEXTURES MAPS from an object?

For instance, currently I'm trying to make a superb "demonic" texture (of my own) for the "Dawnbreaker". I don't want to follow OTHERS (authors' ) textures, I want to make exactly what I want on the actual maps. How am I suppose to get this sword's maps?

Anyone? Should I have to open the meshes? Use a 3D program? What?
