Animation Project for FNV.

By now I think a few people should have realised that Im going to start(already started actually) making new sex animations for FNV by all the subtle hints I've been dropping at the sexout main thread. I've ironed out all the remaining kinks for Blender, nifskope and geck.....I hope, if not then I know I can do human and supermutant sex animations at least.

 

The reason I started this thread was to give me some motivation to keep doing animations for the long haul. Needless to say, the learning process for animating is brutal, especially for someone who has no experience in any graphic related software except for gimp, which I only used to edit pcx image files...and by edit I mean really simple stuff. Several times I've almost thrown in the towel due to frustration from messed up animation exports or just now knowing wtf Im doing. But I soldiered on and I can safely say the worst is behind me.

 

Thankfully Im not alone in this. Masterchris and Johnhead444 have been helping me and giving me advise. Long time FNV players should know these 2 from way back when they had a hand in animating for sexout. By know I think most people know that Donkey is gone from this site. Idk what happened there but if it was possible to somehow get him to stay by some means and it was not done then it really is a shame, that guy was a wealth of knowledge. He was the kinda of modder that would find a way to solve an issue just by trial and error, not fucking easy when you're modding for 3hrs straight and you want some kinda of progress to show for you effort, kinda thing that can drive a guy crazy.

 

Anyway, like I said, I hope by having this thread I can get the motivation to keep doing animations and not wimp out and suddenly stop altogether. I've put it out there that Im doing it, going back on my word will make me look like a big time loser. "Not looking like a loser".....someone should bottle that and sell it as a motivational tool.

Please note. There are no individual files to download here. All new animations will be inserted into the main Sexout/Sexout Beta main files. Follow the links below to find out which version has the most up-to-date animations.

 

Alternatively, ensuring that you keep Sexout.esm updated to the most recent version will ensure that any new animation will be available.

I was reading some old thread from way back and I came across a little post that was kinda interesting. Basically describing a "foreplay" start before getting to the main sex act. Foreplay can be regular foreplay or forcible act before rape i.e forcing legs apart or getting into a slight dustup. I think it can be done easily, maybe but the issue of animation length comes into question. If people set the anim time in sexout too low then a good chunk of the animation wont play. Something to mull over for now, nothing concrete.

 

 

If such anim combos were to get their own number range in NG, it might be possible to exclude them from the random anim picker, like ZAZ. In that case, they'd be called specifically from result script anyway, so that the modder can also temporariliy affect the duration. (Preferably in a way that doesn't conflict with how Sexout Lust affects it.)

 

Now that foreplay's mentioned: I've always wanted to see a nice "making out" anim in FNV. A bit of nuzzling & groping is hawt. Probably not easy though. But, y'know, maybe someday...

I remember vaguely something about a Supermutant bj animation but iirc, Evilrunner was doing that for you. I assumed it was done by now. Idk if thats the animation you're looking for cause its kinda hard to tell but the dude is just standing there(except for a faux breathing idle animation) and the girl is working him hard. If there is some specific bj anim you need then I can try to do that when I have time or you can just use this. I'd like to give it to you now but Im still waiting for pride to teach me how to add penis mesh to creatures so that I can finalize positioning. Dont want that giant dick going through her eye socket and come out at the back of her head.

Yeah definitely, more finger bang stuff and maybe tribbing. Im not a fan of toy play in my lez porn so Im going to do more of what I like too see with regards to girl-girl stuff.

 

Yeah...well kissing is a matter of not having the resource as much as getting the anim right. I dont think there is any kissing animation that I can use since facials animations are still not something yet tackled by sexout. Thats why I was curious about the thread pride had on facial animations even if I didnt get a lick of what was being said.

 

Trying to convey emotions in animation is probably one of the hardest things to do especially for a beginner like me. With sex animations its easy since its just very straight to the point and simple. With emotions it can get tricky; a gentle lovers caress across the body can easily look like swatting a fly away if you dont know wtf you're doing. Im not at that point where I can create believable emotive animations yet but maybe in the future.

3some animations are probably at the bottom of the to-do pile simply cause of the same reason I dont intend to do much of creature animations: they just dont occur often enough in regular play to warrant the effort. I might do them if maybe a specific mod has a scene that requires it but other than that Im still undecided about 3somes. I also prefer to do make specific 3some animations rather than using existing animations and mashing them together IF I ever get around to messing with 3some animations.

There's nothing terribly special about doing it with new vegas vs. fo3 or oblivion, and there are tons of tutorials out there for oblivion. The programs and plugins you need are basically the same. Just make sure you don't "bake whatever" in the FONV animations or it makes it a pain in the ass, after you've gone, for the rest of us to fix/adjust them.

 

The only four text entries (you'll learn about these) you need in an FONV animation are Start, StartLoop, EndLoop, and End -- and they must be in that order. They represent time indexes in the animation. For most animations Start and StartLoop are both 0 (Start is always zero), while EndLoop and End are equal to the total length of the animation in seconds.

 

This allows the animation to loop from start to finish over and over.

 

If you wanted to get complicated and have an animation with an intro and/or an outro, like the actors kneeling down and then standing up together afterwards, set StartLoop to the time index after the intro where looping starts, and EndLoop to the time index before the outro where looping ends.

 

So say you have 4 time markers like in a movie, A, B, C, and D. A->B is the segment where the actor gets undressed (intro), B-C is the looping (repeated) sex segment, and C->D is the outro where the actors get dressed. You set Start to A, StartLoop to B, EndLoop to C, and End to D. Not nearly enough animators take advantage of this capability in the .kf files. :)

beck11, sorry it took me so long to get back to you.

 

The supermutant animation you gave me (doggy style) in the sexoutNG thread was setup fine in the GECK, the only thing I noticed that is/was wrong is the 'a' animation. I know a couple of the animations with creatures have one, but they never need it, not in the _male folder anyway.

 

All that is needed for creatures is the 'x' (or 'a') animation that goes in the creature folder, and the 'b' animation for the human.

 

If anyone ever creates an animation where a human bangs a creature, then the creature will have an 'x' animation, and the human will have an 'a' animation.

 

A is the primary 'giver'.

B is the primary 'taker'.

C is the secondary giver (or taker) in 3 ways.

 

It looked at worked fine in game, though the SM didn't get naked; has to be something I screwed up, either in the sexout ESM itself, in the data pack, or (most likely) I overwrote something when I was installing the 900 addons for SCR+pregnancy. ;)

OH, duh, of course.

 

The thing you missed (with the supermutant) that caused him not to be naked is you didn't create an anim object for him in the GECK so he'd use his penis.

 

On the left in the tree under miscellaneous, go to 'anim object', then on the right right-click and 'add new'. Give it a name (standard is SNGxxxxprop where xxxx is the anim number, like 1002), select the model (for the SM it's in creatures\smspinebreaker\idleanims\Sexus_SuperMutant_a.nif), select the right creature anims (creatures\smspinebreaker\idleanims), and then select the appropriate animation to assign the prop two.

 

Two notes:

1. You need to do this for every animation that involves a creature (or a prop, ZAZ does it the same way).

 

2. If you edit one and want to cancel, don't click OK, even if you didn't change anything. Just OPENING that window changes the bottom two selections to the wrong thing. Fucking GECK.

Not sure what you mean. Like go back and redo animations like Nusbie is doing and tighten them up? If so then I probably will not be doing that, dont see anything wrong with the existing stuff and besides Im not presumptuous enough to think I can do better than whats already there:D

Good to hear! You can start by looking at some existing animation tutorials for Oblivion like pride said. Just practice making simple stuff in Blender and try to figure the tools and features in Blender first then move on to exporting them into geck. My tutorial(if I ever get around to it) is basically the same but I teach people how to get them from Blender into geck and avoid kf corruption/weirdness that I had to deal with when I was starting out.

You don't need to, except when/if testing. When you have anims ready to go into sexout, just let me know and send along the .kf's. If there are new props, or textures i need, or whatever, just send those along to. I don't actually need/use the ESPs since I need to assign a permanent anim # and rename all the files and all that anyway.

 

All I ask is that the anims work with a 0 offset (the script that 'fixes' the offset of the existing anims is pretty big already), and the start/startloop/endloop/end values are set correctly. I can adjust the offsets in the script if I have to, and I can fix messed up values in nifskope, but it's a bit of a time sink. ;)

Oh man, great. Not needing to send you an esp makes it much easier for me. I basically just keep reusing the same esp cause I dont want to deal with geck if I can. Speaking of geck, anyone know why when I start up geck the DLC is all selected even though I did not select them? This is when I first fire up geck with no esp loaded.

Just use the one you did make.. when you want to test, overwrite the .KF files with your new ones and then test. Please do still test the anims in game.. but you don't have to use the geck to do it, you can just overwrite existing KF files. I'd use the ones you have for 10001 so you can be sure there isn't an offset already being applied.

If You are Using Blender , I will Help you as Much as I can when im around , Since Donkey has Left its been difficult I understand ,Im also messing around with Skyrim.

 

I Do take Requests , but only for Sexout Modders , that means the animations they wanna use for their plugin.

Why would they even need those? There isn't one for the New Vegas esm which might actually be useful.
