This is a very crude mash-up style loincloth (male underwear) mod, mainly developed for the use together with SoS: Schlongs of Skyrim.

[UPDATED]: Uploaded SAM (only) supported version on vectorplexus.com: https://vectorplexus.com/files/file/123-vlsimu-vanilla-like-schlong-interactive-male-underwear-for-sam/

 

Features:

  • Almost vanilla-looking (loincloth-style) underwear for male actors, with flexible front side 'apron' that can move in accordance with the movement of the wearer's schlong. That is to say, no more his schlong sticking directly out from the cloth.
  • Compatible with BOTH SoS: Schlongs of Skyrim - Full (v 3.0.4) AND SoS - Light (v 1.0.4). Sorry, so far not the body-builder mesh support (Normal body only). WIP Sundracon SoS mesh (you can find somewhere in LL) and its variant, SMSOSL: Sundracon Male Schlongs of Skyrim - Light can be also supported (use the alternative meshes in [optional] folder in the sub-folder of the mesh (Boo's Sundracon SoS) / separate optional download package (SMSOSL).
  • Use equipment slot 56 (instead of slot 52, unlike other male underwear mod), so it does not hide your PC's manly bit entirely while he put it on.
  • No Script, very light-weight (i.e. low poly mesh/low-res texture...)
  • Constructable with one roll of linen wrap and two leather strips, at the tanning rack. No smithing skill/perk required.
  • Supposed to be hidden under (almost) all vanilla armors or clothes.
  • Male only. If female can try put it on, the underwear will just not show up on their body (i,e. she will remain nude).
  • Its assets also should work well with the other (female-only) underwear mod, Vanilla Underwear for all (One piece version) by Andrelo (http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/69490/). For more detail, check the article below.
  • The mod itself does not distribute the underwear to other NPCs in the game. Although I personally cannot recommend, if you REALLY wish to achieve such a thing, check the relevant article below.
  • v. 0.2(+): added crafting only (i.e. not distributed to NPCs) three variants of the underwears. Red (linen: additionally requiring five pieces of Red Mountain Flowers as dye when crafted), Green (linen: additionally requiring five pieces of Lavenders as dye), and soft touch leather one (requiring one piece of Leather instead of Linen Wrap).

 


Requirements:

 


: they are indispensable for the flexible movement of the front side 'apron' of the underwear. Besides, who would like to try this WIP 'interactive/ responsive' underwear without SoS installed?

 

Known Incompatibilities/ Problems:

  • Any other armor/ cloth mod that occupies the equipment slot 56. I assume that, however, few male armor mods use this slot, and even if female actor tries to put it on, other equipments (using the same slot) should be prioritized in the game.
  • non-vanilla armors/ clothes will not hide the underwear unless the patch is not made (how to make it compatible with TESVEdit, check SS below).

  • Some clippings especially while sneaking/ running.
  • Due to its nature of tweaking armor add-ons of all the vanilla armors and clothes to hide the slot 56, I assume that I carry forwards almost all the 'fixes' of armor add-ons done by USLEEP (and CRF as well) that can be done without any dependency also into this mod's .esp. Fixes of the other overhaul mods like CCF are currently not supported, however.

 


How to install/uninstall and get the underwear

  • Just install and activate the (main) .esp file by NMM or Mod organizer. vanilla_male_NPC_outfitlist_vlsimu.esp is (UNRECOMMENDED) OPTIONAL. Unless you really wish to try the feature of distributing the underwear to male NPCs, just ignore it and don't download.
  • Recommended Load order: definitely after the massive equipment/ armors/ clothes overhaul mods like USLEEP/ WAF/ CCF/ CCOR. Otherwise, it matters little.
  • The underwear will not be added in your inventory just by installing. You have to craft it at the tanning rack (recipe: one roll of linen wrap and two leather strips).
  • Alternatively, you can resort to console or Additemmenu(http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/64905/)
  • Probably Safe to uninstall unless you put the underwear on or have it inventory (if so, just discard it into some barrels around before un-install).
  • v. 0.2(+): It must be safe to update just by overwriting the existing assets as well as .esp. Also the latest underwear's .esp is compatible with the 0.1(a)'s optional .esp for the underwear distribution to NPCs (It means that you don't have to update the latter if you don't mind four missing entries of the male underwear in some NPC's inventory).

 


How its assets can be integrated with Andrelo's Vanilla Underwear for all:

  • Install both mods (the order should be irrelevant). meshes/ textures from both mods are to be found in the sub-folder named 'VanillaUnderwear', under meshes (textures)>clothes
  • DISABLE (DELETE) THIS MOD's .esp/ back up both mods' .esp somewhere.
  • Open VanillaUnderwear.esp, with TESVEdit, and edit some entries in her/his original .esp as shown below in the album.

How to distribute the underwear to other NPCs in the game? (though I strongly wish to dissuade you to try)
#Except for the option A, you will definitely need some basic knowledge on TESVedit/ CK.

  1. Put vanilla_male_npc_outfitlist_vlsimu.esp below in your load order (preferably just above your bashed/merged patch).
  2. Open this .esp and your other mods together with TESVEdit.
  3. Carry forward all the conflicting record into NPC's outfit entry of this .esp (see SS).

  1. NB: You have to make a patch by yourself by tweaking the outfit list of other additional mods.
  2. NB2: If you install vanilla_male_npc_outfitlist_vlsimu.esp in course of your play through (i.e. not from the new game), the actors those who had already appeared in the game would be not affected by this outfit change. So, it's best to install vanilla_male_npc_outfitlist_vlsimu.esp from the new game. Sorry for your inconvenience.

 


Recommended Mods:

  • RUSTIC CLOTHING (http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/69784/? copy its maleunderwear.dds and maleunderwear_n.dds from the original location (textures>actors>character>male) to this mod's textures folder (textures>clothes>VanillaUnderwear). It will improve the aesthetic quality of your PC's loincloth drastically.

 


FAQ:

  • 'It's so ugly. Even uglier than the vanilla!': Sorry, I definitely lack the very basic skill of mesh-handling software like blender. Besides, the vanilla male underwear texture does not have the high-res variant in official texture pack (that I originally intended to use for improving the quality of texture).
  • 'Why the loincloth? I prefer more sophisticated one!': Check RUMP: Rydin Underwear for Men Pack (http://www.loverslab.com/files/file/2662-rydin-underwear-for-men-pack/)
  • 'I wanted to distribute the underwear to male NPC only, but found that some female NPCs actually not only had, but also put it on. Are they perverts? Or, does your outfit-list.esp have some problems?': Well, without relying on the script, it is sometimes impossible to distinguish between male and female NPCs, especially when they are generated from the same, mix-gendered leveled list. So, as a fail safe, I made the female world model of this loin-cloth as nude (as if she wears nothing). I know they try to put any item (including this underwear) on, but so, it will not cause any (visual) harm on female.....
  • 'Futa support?': Currently No. I don't know about the game mechanics, but I assume that it is usually difficult to distinguish between the futa and other female actors, and to apply the (visible) vlsimu underwear to the non-schlongified female actor would cause visual glitch (please see my SS album post in the support thread).

 


Permission for Re-Use:

  • Just credit the original mod author of SOS - Male Skimpy Crouch underwear for SOS, DarkSchneiderBS, who implemented the interactivity to the mesh, would be enough.
  • What I did is basically to mess up the awful mash-up job and to tweak .esp a bit only.

 


What should be done in the future:

  • Find the possible remaining bugs/ missing entries in the entry of Armor Add-on or NPCs' outfit list (optional .esp).
  • Improve the asset of the ground object (especially for the additional, colored one)
  • Female/ SAM support (not so soon, definitely not before September, I afraid ......)

Finally something i have long been waiting for future features i hope gets added.

First of all, thank you very much for your suggestion!

 

  • Female Support (futa?):  As I noted in the description page (sorry for the mess), the problem is to distinguish the schlongified female and other female actors, as well as the compatibility problem of the asset with other female underwear mod. I should consider to make another, small plug-in of the independent loin-cloth type add-on for the female/futa (that is not to be distributed to female NPCs widely), however.
  • UUNP Support: the same reason.
  • SAM Support: As for the current state, 1) Functionality of schlong Interactivity (originally developed by DarkSchneiderBS): already YES. 2) Adjusted to SAM body shape with the appropriate morph system: beyond my awful skill, however. I hope that Sundracon (for more slender butt) version would be already compatible to some extent with so-called 'SAM-light' (SAM without Samson/ Samuel morph).

When the non-schlongified actor puts vlsimu underwear on,

  • Instead of schlong, front side 'apron' (without genital bone) will keep rigid and stuck out from the crotch
  • The angle of the front side will also remain unchanged regardless of the actor's arousal

So, it means that 'schlong-interactive' underwears must not be distributed into the inventory of non-schongified female actors 

(unless you make every female characters in the game schlongified).

Just a small additional note for the update 0.1a (sleeping outfit list), since I don't want to mess up the update log any more (just for a very trivial thing): 

  • As far as I know, the vanilla sleeping outfit system is not implemented in the game correctly, so this update would not affect your game in any aspect without the use of the mod that can 'fix' this problem.
  • If you REALLY want NPCs to put only their underwear on while sleeping in the bed/ hay pile or something like that, I recommend you to check: Suit Up by Utopium (http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/83347/) that includes several features concerning the outfit change of PC/ NPCs in accordance with their surroundings (configurable from MCM). AFAIK other 'NPCs go to Bed naked' mods are likely also to un-equip the vlsimu underwear as well (since they utilize 'unequip all' script).

What I did for this mod (if ever) was just to adjust his mesh a little and mashed up into the vanilla underwear,

with some .esp tweaks as a non revealing underwear.

He/ she generously granted me a permission of using  his/her asset, so I really thank him/her.

 

So, I don't have even decent skill of 3d-modelling of meshes so that port the system to other meshes.

(Just to adapt it to some female underwear with decent 3d-model is probably beyond my skill at the moment).

 

I'll perhaps re-do UV Mapping of the mesh and probably add some re-textures (leather - pilot has been done,

and hopefully some fur variants) later, with some bug fixes in the .esp (if I can find some more - so far I found

So, I have just updated the file to 0.2 (although it seems to work without CTD/ any noticeable error, I hope I've not made silly mistakes). 

 

On the color tone of underwear variants: How do you think (Is it OK)? I could have made them more vibrant, but compared with other popular cloth pack in my almost vanilla lighting, the sober tone of the released version (0.2) would be the better (check the following awful SSs), I suppose. If requested, I'll try some re-textures again.

I am not that happy with Underwear Front Part UV. Are you planning updating?

 

I tried to 'improve' mesh at least three times, but every time has failed miserably so far:

While I made some progress for the aesthetic of the front cloth, the movement/ shrink got worse

than the current released version. 

 

Some visual 'glitch' of the front cloth are also connected to the flexible movement of the mesh.

 

I have not given up completely, but the imminent update is not so likely.

Ok, and what about the shape of underwear (favouredsoul body)?

It looks cool when frontal, but from behind... 

This swelling might be caused by hdt (buttocks hdt), no?

And, excuse me, What is the probable reason of underwear clipping when clothes are on. I use SOS Revealing Plugin, Undress Spells and so on. Your underwear does not disappear after NPC puts his clothes on. I have to remove (or unequip) it every time via console  :(

Well. There is certainly some room for improvement concerning the back side shape, as you point out in your post above.

Also I know the source of this problem: Somewhere in process of fitting the body shapes, I must have mistook

female skeleton for male skeleton at least once that could have led to more round buttock shape than it should have been.

I'll also look into the possible improvement for the back side shape towards autumn.

[Edited]: Sorry, after the quick edit/ test, I remembered that the issue of balancing

between too round buttock and clipping was more difficult than I had assumed (when I had written the reply above). 

So, imminent update is not so likely at the moment.

Anyway, thanks again for your suggestion as well as SSs (for clarifying the situation)!

 

As for underwear clipping issue, please check my really out-of-order description again (sorry for your inconvenience). 

  • This underwear mod occupies slot 56, not 52 for showing both genital AND loincloth when the mod user installs this mod together with SoS - Full.
  • I edited armor add-ons of the all vanilla-DLC armors and clothes so that they would hide slot 56 (this underwear) as long as any other mod does not overwrite my tweaked records.
  • I suppose that (almost all of) non-vanilla armor mods as well as some other vanilla armor tweaks don't originally hide slot 56.

Please check the following AA (armor-addon) records by TESVEDit again. 

 

If your load order takes priority to my plug-in file (as shown in my TESVedit)

(i.e. AA records from my plug-in overwrite all the other conflicting edits),

must hide the loincloth so that we don't have to edit the male fur armor mesh via Nifskope.

Sorry for asking again: 

  • Do you use the body mesh from my mod? If so, could you specify which version of mine (SOSF/ SOSL/ HDT/ non-HDT/ ver. no.?). 
  • Do you have any other armor/ clothes that also morph odd with your current body mesh in question?

 

I made these questions since I saw an blog entry stating that some bad settings of the body mesh (to give an example, different node order between malebody_0.nif and malebody1.nif) can also cause such malfunction of the weight slider.  

 

About add-on, they are actually referenced by one of my underwear species:

  • It's a kind of fail safe measure. Without them (AA by some races), especially beast male body will have oddities (i.e. beast head plus human skin) while putting his underwear on. While actually used in the actual game, each elven race can also have their own skin texture, different from default human races and orcs, so Elven races also require these records.
  • You can make some other undergarments like Green, Red and Leather ones than the normal one at Tanning Rack with some stuffs (see my description), but I did not distribute them to NPCs (since I didn't have idea which type of NPC were suitable for each type of undergarments). So they are now crafting and for PC only. 

 

I'll also try to find the problematic combination of body meshes/ underwear meshes.

[edited]: Hmm. After the quick test, all the combination all of my released version of SMSOSL v 1.21 (as well as fixed Boo's resource) 

seem to work fine with VLSIMU at least in my game. 

Can you post your body/ underwear meshes here (for my testing)?

Oh, excuse me, I was inattentive. Of course, these addons are for craftable underwear and for PC only. Never play for other races, so it's my misunderstanding.

 

No, I am stick to regular SD body for now. I am using non of your (or Boo's) body meshes.

 

I am sending you body meshes I use in my game. There are three sets of meshes for different races:

SD regular body - for all races, exept nords and redguard;

SD WS (wide shoulder) body - for nords;

FS (favored soul) body - for redguards to use (!!! different texture paths).

 

I am sending you your Underwear meshes. Note that I have edited them. That was a mere and slightest scaling in NifScope, so that to make them fit well, and exclude clipping.

 

I guess, you will now say something like 'Oh, c'mon. You have such a mess of different bodies, youve edited my mod and my underwear meshes, and you want my Underwear mod work fine with all your f****ng stuff!!!'

 

Firstly, I edited your mod to bring it into accordance with my races.

Second, it worked nice and easy, untill recently (I don't know the reason of issues popped up).

Third, believe me, I've already tried to use your mod original (clean) version (with no editing from my side). Weight slider works extrimely strange.

 

Not sure, you might want to investigate this bunch of tangles. Just let me know what you're gonna do, ok?

 

I just want to know why do your underwear weight slider doesn't work to me, unlike the other armor addons.

OK, I suppose that I just found the 'culpit'.

tl;dr: re-download [optional] vlsimu_mesh_for_SMSOSL.7z

from the download section of vlsimu and overwrite your maleunderwear_0.nif/ maleunderwear_1.nif, 

now fully compatible with SMSOSL v 1.2+ (as well as base body shape of the original SD).

By this, the dis-functionality of the weight slider has been solved at least in my test.

 

 

While I have not looked into the details by nifskope, your modification date of  maleunderwear_1.nif

is clearly BEFORE this last update (AFAIK it's not done by me),

and this maleunderwear_1.nif you posted is the source of problem.

 

[Added]: In a sense, my old maleunderwear_0.nif was in fact problematic: 

the node order of this mesh is different from your other three, modified meshes. 

Do not mix up my original one and your modified one for _0.nif and _1.nif, please.
