Fallout 4 uses too much RAM ??

Recommended Posts

Well that was surprise skyrim would always due to memory 3.1 but somehow fallout 4 memory will keep rising till my system runs out. not sure how to put it my system has 16 gig of ram so i am not sure how fallout 4 is even using so much ram to begin with. my VRAM is always full 2gig. but my regular ram will go up no matter what so this game must have a major memory leak.

My VRAM is 8GB and I have 16Gb DDR4 Ram. I have zero issues with the game and no memory leaks.

Will downloading ENB and manually setting the amount of RAM in the enblocal.ini it uses help you?

Are you using ENB ?

Once your VRAM is full it starts using RAM to store stuff...

You can configure that in the ENB´s ini file.

Not sure if the vanila game does that too.

Try this like Sun mentioned  and carefully configure it using the instructions on the page to see if it helps you .

Yes , this deliberately uses system ram , but I think your issue is more a lack of video ram . I'd also suggest trying texture optimisation packs and making sure settings like God Rays are either low or off .

Like Vader says , your lack of video ram is most likely leading to the video card eating into the system ram sooner rather than later . Conserving your video ram with texture optimisation packs would hopefully help stave that off a little and the ENBoost will still use your system ram but should use it more efficiently than the game just doing it itself without that installed .
