So, I came across the Legacy of the Dragonborn mod and it looks pretty good. However, the creator made specific mention of SexLab and Lover's Lab

 

- Sexlab/Lover's Lab mods: these are very script heavy and mess with core animation systems of the game which drastically destabilizes even the most solid game. Using any of the frameworks from this site along with Legacy will cause major problems.

 

 

To be honest, I don't see any of the mods here on LL as being more or less script heavy than any other mod no matter where its hosted. It all depends on the mod.

 

Anyway, has anybody else given this mod a play and how'd it work out?

I'm using it with sexlab, defeat, mias lair, and many many other mods.. including all the mods legends supports.

 

The problem you will run into is the string count limit.  If you plan on using it.. you ABSOLUTELY must use it with crash fixes with the OSallocator enabled as well as the skse preloader.

Other than that.. the only time i crash is if the scripts fire off when I am using the automated museum display feature in the library... and that's only if someone starts doing the yumyum bouncy bouncy while those scripts are running.  It's extremely easy to avoid.  Just don't bring any slaves etc in with you.. and don't do anything until all museum items have been sorted.   This also goes true with the stash spell.

ETA:  I should also add... legends is simply an amazing mod if you are a collector.   You can view all of your items there and theres a ton of quality of life features that you can use or chose to ignore..     
 
Tired of getting weighed down by ingredients and ore in the middle of a dungeon?  Theres a spell to take everything that you may possible want to stash out of your inventory automatically and ship it off to the museum for sorting later.

I don't have slaves and followers I just 'park' at one of the houses.

 

I play Ravyn as someone who is not interested in being enslaved or of owning a slave, she just likes kinky fun :P

Got it loaded, chose the ASLAL start Great work!!

 

Haven't installed Crash Fixes yet. Testing its basic stability. So far, better than expected. I usually CTD once in the first half hour to hour after adding mods, but played about 4 hours last night after adding it to a save.

 

Decided to add Convenient Horse this morning, started a new game, CTD an hour later. Which was expected. :P

When I load and play some more, I'll see how things go.

 

It does need one more thing, though.

 

A 'Hall of Justice'  :D

Featuring all the tools, furniture and other things used in the pursuit of justice, to determine the innocent and to punish the guilty :angel:

Crash fixes is an absolute must for Oldrim IMO.  I did play with Legacy and sexlab stuff for awhile but only briefly before switching over to SE.  I didn't have any issues other than just the general instability of Oldrim.  I crashed a lot with Legacy loaded but I crashed alot without it loaded too.

Also a 250+ plugins user with Legacy and Sexlab stuff here. I use Requiem too so I had to give up on Defeat but I rarely crash even with my build. As stated above it's normally script overload or when the hardware gets too hot so yeah. You just have to do more advanced stuff to stabilize your game.

To satisfy anyone's curiousity about my system:

nVidia GeForce 720GT 1GbVRAM (yeah, kinda mediocre)

make sure you also enable OSallocators and use the preloader.

If you are already over the string limit, you may need a new game in order to have everything allocated properly.

Starting a new game isn't an issue. Only just now finished Bleak Falls Barrow. I made a small mistake early on, 'talked' to a stray dog and now I can't get rid of it. Whoever designed the dog AI got it bang on. Bloody mutt sits IN the doorways, middle of the path and all the annoying things dogs do in real life. No wonder I'm a cat person :P

This article explains strings and how to detect if you are at or over the limit.

Crash fixes was a result of this discovery and is intended to resolve the string count limit.

It does it by changing the way the strings are allocated.  That's why it's best to have it from the start.. so that all the strings are allocated properly (I think).

Well, played about 4 hours with no problem until I tried to put a Dwarven greatsword on a weapon rack in the Armory.

 

Not bad since I added about a half a dozen mods after LoD and without starting a new game when I added it in the first place.

 

I'm going to add Winstad Mine  in the morning. I've run it before, never had a problem with it and I don't think it'll interfere with LoD, which is the only mod that I haven't run with it before.

 

And start a new game.

 

Oh, and the dog died. :mellow:

If you want to push the envelope, you can try these settings in your skyrim.ini

 

[Papyrus]

fUpdateBudgetMS=2.0

fExtraTaskletBudgetMS=2.0

fPostLoadUpdateTimeMS=1600.0

 

* The settings in red come at a cost of framerate.   The default is 1.2     You can tweak these between 1.2 to 2.0 to give your scripts more time to run per rendering loop.

 

* The setting in green comes at a cost of longer loading times in your game transitions.   You can set this higher if you like... but the higher it is, the longer it takes to load each area when you transition.

 

These both give your game more time to run the scripts in different circumstances.  Because they come at a cost of frame rate or load time, you have to find the right balance for your rig and script load.

Things seemed pretty stable last night, even after adding LoD to a save instead of starting new. And then adding a half a dozen more mods after that. 4 hours of play before a CTD isn't too bad for me :D No need for any envelope pushing at this point.

 

Just about to start a new game, finished configuring MCM and about to select my ASLAL start. I'm thinking wandering merchant from Cryrodiil, come to Skyrim to take possession of her new property (bought via a trusted and discreet business agent), a house in East Reach, near Old Hroldan Inn. Takes Ravyn right to Helgen.

Sorry missed your post... it's in the mcm.. you need to enable it.  It's the closet access spells etc.

ETA:  I should also add... legends is simply an amazing mod if you are a collector.   You can view all of your items there and theres a ton of quality of life features that you can use or chose to ignore..     
 
Tired of getting weighed down by ingredients and ore in the middle of a dungeon?  Theres a spell to take everything that you may possible want to stash out of your inventory automatically and ship it off to the museum for sorting later.

i do want to ask though, do you use an ENB and do you use a mod that overhauls NPC looks.  wondering because i had some weird mashup of several mods for the NPC looks (including a korean and a chinese mod) and i really don't feel like doing that again, it was such a pain to modify that .esp file.

Yes I am using spectrum ENB slightly modified to my personal taste.  I prefered tetrachromatic at first.. but found spectrum to be a little bit lighter on the performance hit.  http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/40646/?.  I customized it to use a static DOF with glares and lens flares disabled.

 

I am using multiple replacer mods such as bijin and neus's mods.. but I made my own custom mashup using NPC Visual transfer tool...    http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/64875/?.   The Visual transfer tool lets you put any followers face on any other npcs.  The way I incorporated some of bijin was to use individual files that i liked (separate esps.)  Transfer the visual of the npc to the same npc so that it goes into my custom ESP.. I can then disable the bijin esp..  The same goes for any follower visuals I added.  You need to keep all of the assets enabled in MO, but using this tool you can disable the accompanying ESP file.

 

As an example.. I use http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/67561/? as a replacement for my in game Sapphire from the thieves guild.  This way, if i find a follower that I think looks good.. I can just replace an existing npc visual without having a whole lot of ESP files taking over my mod list.

To get the same string count as this mod you'd pretty much have to dl EVERY sex anim and pose mod ever made for Skyrim since it launched, and I'm not sure you'd still catch up, though with Funnybizness that might be even by now.

 

As pointed out, ReStringer and Crashfix are mandatory if you expect to finish your game with this mod.

Yep, got Crash Fixes installed. Had a harddrive crap out and lost about two weeks of stuff. had that build real nice and stable. And at 255 for, that matter. Anyway, I keep copies of stable Data folders. Things aren't as good as they were, but I'm wondering if that might be due to running Win10 and not Win7.

 

Anyway, here's the current load order, LoD included. Plus Paradise Halls, Slaverun and Player Succubus Quest. I've gone a little light on the environment overhauls, generally keeping vanilla textures for terrain and buildings. All in all, its looking like I'm real close to a game I can play for a very long time.

Oh damn, forgot to enable AOSAllocate

That might account for an annoying glitch - QuickSave was taking longer and longer. if i deleted it and then used F5 to QuickSave ingame, it worked fine. but the second time, as an overwrite, took significantly longer. hopefully.
