Thank you for your work. :)  I converted Ysgramor's armor to work with SSE, but the author denied permission in uploading on nexus or anywhere.  He said he doesn't like seeing his mods ported.  But anyway nice work. :)

you could put a how to here for the conversion to se, that way you leave it to others to get it done 

 

some are not interested in ise ports, normally because they dont want it going to beths.net

some just want to do it themselves for whatever reason

 

normally i offer to just give them the ported mod, or they co author me so i can load up the port 

 

some just say for me to do the upload n port myself, so youll run into a lot of variations in authors 

 

i just honestly wish to expand what mods the SE community has 

 

Those are all great ideas.  I also wish to expand the mod library for SE.

 

As for how to convert armors and weapons from Skyrim to SSE:

 

1) Use nif optimizer to optimize the meshes for SE.

 

2) Check to see if all textures are dds.  If not convert them to dds.  Using gimp or photoshop.

 

3) Load mod in the SE creation kit and once loaded save it.  This will make it compatible with SE.

sky was one that had some CTD issues i fixed, but ive heard from that author and they are making an update then porting i to se

Can you tell me the process you used to convert followers?  I've converted weapons and armor, but when it comes to followers I'm afraid of messing up their faces.

For follower faces I usually just keep the facegen meshes from the original mod then after converting the ESP, I manually convert the Facegen meshes with NifSkope. This mostly depends on what condition the nif is in to begin with so there is no single method for doing it.

 

There's a lot of information in this thread about some of the tricks involved with getting custom (for example - generated with Racemenu)  follower faces converted from Oldrim: https://forums.nexusmods.com/index.php?/topic/5007065-nifmerge-for-sse/

ok im back  

 

now ive gotten more mods to work [some were being a pain ...] 

 

ive so far ported 4 mods per authors approval 

elvenia armor 

mermaid/medusa armors 

mirielle 

dralisi

 

all of which just got updates, im in talks with porting more over 

one of whick is an old fav the drakul armor & medusa , i got it and its other elements working [im unsure how else to share it] 

 

ive gotten more armors and weapons working , usually these require a simple niff optimization and smoothing while deleting irrelevant garbage 

 

for followers simple nif optimization, trickest id say is divideds followers, some are complicated in repair. divided stated there would be SE mods to be .. but when that is ??? , ive told them i have functional se versions [offered to flat out give them] no was the answer.. but i can explain repairs 

 

if you tried using farcrys mod followers do a simple niff repair and its fine,

ok another follower for you 

"barbarian sunya" 

all thats required to work in SE is the bsa -> loose 

simply use bae and extract the .bsa to its loose form and zip it and your ready to roll 

 

 


if anyone requires a TBBP [hdt usable] 

cbbe , chsbhc  , unb , unpk ect ...of these bodies

 

i have plenty of functioning resources and im willing to share them

Enhanced Skyrim Factions : The Companions works with SSE.  Only the MCM menu is not available.  Just install the mod and extract the contents of the bsa into your Skyrim Special Edition folder, and activate the plugin.  You don't even need to resave the plugin in the new CK.  It works as is.

They all work fine.  Just optimize the meshes with nif optimizer.  It is found on the SSE Nexus.  If you want to you can re-save the plugin in the new CK.  I haven't re-saved it because opening up the ck causes a BSOD.  But I have experienced no problems with out updating it in the new ck.

I use nifscan to do this, I've found a handful of official mods released by their creators who didn't / can't test it with SE. The 'nifscan -fixdds' finds and converts any dds textures not compatible with SE that can cause a CTD.

successful test of "another vampire leather" armor 

 

those who enjoyed it will continue to do so in SE

please note UNPB is not active till nioveridde is ported to se 

 

also speaking with the creator of steadfast weve gotten almost all of the sisters functions to work without it except one sister cant fly when triggered...

so other then that it works in se without skse64

hmm so progressing to  skse64 development is interesting , i can say with newest incarnation of my mods set its much smoother and more stable 

 

im also testing these HDT phys
