But in their statement, they said that is pretty much a false news and they are not affected.

Yep, saw it. I bet the developers were amused to add that to their change logs.

 

Some CIA data collection tool replaced DLLs of various productivity apps so that when it collects data, it looks like Notepad++, Skype, Irfan View and such were accessing the files. Pretty silly trick for apps that don't check if their DLLs are actually their DLLs

And they also have the tools to make it look like the Russians did it, or the Chinese, or whomever they wish.

You used an extremely tricky update of one library of the phone I am using and you just updated the root password of my device!

Luckily, you decided to use exactly the same password I was using before.
