Pasting text into a post (Here's something odd )

Recommended Posts

I just pasted "here's something odd" into the title of this tiny thread, but the actual post will not let me paste text using MSIE 11.

I think Chrome will.

and I am not sure about Microsoft "edge" but I never use that browser.

I would like to know if there is a setting that will let a user Paste text into a post.

I am also  trying (for your edification) the "Paste" buttons above instead of just right-clicking and clicking paste:

No. First I get a paste warning from my PC, and then nothing.

So, yeah, either I have something Set wrong or there is an anti-pasting rule I am not aware of?

I like MSIE 11, and I want to keep using it.

And, the title of this thread (part of it) is a successful paste.

O, OK so 'Edge lets me paste.

This is a test where I turn "loverslab" into HTTPS and add it to my trusted list in msie11.

no, that did not help at all.

Someone else wrote microsoft and told them "Compatibility view" worked, but it did not.

I thought asking would elicit a well known answer (HTML5-XML-Java, etc)

I reset security to "default" which was yet another suggestion.

no, that did nothing.

In fact, it did something bad, it prevented me from signing in at all.

If I find the answer I will come back to edit this.

Thanks again.

cookies?

no.

I found it!! f12 developer tools-emulation-mode-document mode, change from 11 to 10.

I found it!! f12 developer tools-emulation-mode-document mode, change from 11 to 10.

this error (see picture) showed up, not sure why.

But I got what I wanted and I hope it helps someone.

It only works once so far, I haven't found a way to make the emulation stick.

Adding loverslab.com to compatibility does nothing.

No, only going into f12-etc BEFORE I start to post or to edit a post, works. and only once.

----

I've been reading (useless) suggestions from Microsoft's reps most of the past hour, and the time has come to test one or two of them.

Add loverslab to "trusted sites" (been there, done that)

turn off "activex filtering" (o....k)

Turn off "Protected mode" (warning, warning, danger, will robinson)

Nope, NOTHING microsoft said works, but the f12 thing which only works once.

I will continue to investigate this (for at least 5 minutes)

"Cloudflare.com" might be relevant, might not. it seems to have something to do with loverslab, not sure.
