CTD (with a Win "stopped working" message) while waiting or exiting my home

Hello folks I installed some mods today and everything seems to work fine until I use the wait option or if I try to exit my home. If I do, I crash during the waiting "animation" or the end of the load screen while exiting my house...

 

UPDATE : Skyrim also crashes if I sleep, but not if I coc to Whiterun (still crashes if I wait after having coc'ed to Whiterun tho)

 

UPDATE 2 : Skyrim crahses if I save as well. And I tried deactivating every mod I installed before the crashes occured and it did not fix it.

 

UPDATE 3 : CrashFixes CrashLog if someone can make sense of it :

 

CrashFix log says "Game has crashed with exception address 0xC4D18A!"

UPDATE 4 : Made a clean install and reinstalled my mods using Mod Organizer this time, problem still occurs, but I disabled the autosaving features so it only happends when I try to save...

When I get this problem I end up reinstalling Skyrim . Latest version of Skyrim not SE - seems very stable . Try running this little program  ( NETIMMERSE OVERRIDE CLEANER ) . Its a very easy to use program , just down load and in stall to your desktop . It cleans SKSE saves has they bloat very fast  and reduces the size of your saves removing bloating . Its on labs maybe on nexus not sure .

If a door is part open this is mainly caused by an NPC getting stuck ,  I click  the door to shut it -back away - run wait for 24 hours then go through the door .  Sometimes if having this problem use consul type tfc or tcl cant remember . Remove collision go through door then back then reenter door then restart collision  once cell as loaded .

Well I downloaded and ran Netimmerse Override Cleaner and it cleaned a ton of bloating but I still get the same crashes

 

Skyrim re-installation would be the last thing I'd try since I have 249 mods installed it would just take a whole day to install everything again...

Yes, I forgot to update the post with this info but it crashes if I save as well. But for the load/wait/sleep crash I don't believe it is related to saving since I used Autosave Manager to disable the autosaves before doing these actions. Or maybe Autosave Manager isn't doing its job well, dunno.

2.) Do these problems persist when you start a new game? If the answer is yes then its a problem with another mod answer remove mods until you find out which mod if you're not using MO remove all files from said mod scripts etc or just GET Mod Organizer.

1) Well yep I'm using NMM, so the problem might be here.

 

2) Nope iit seems to work fine when I start a new game.

 

3) Well I should have disabled them in the INI in place of installing this mod since I installed it mainly to disable the saves '^^

 

4) Well, I have a hard time NOT installing new mods during my playthrough sadly, I just don't want to start from scratch when I discover a new mod and stuff, but I get it, it's dangerous.

 

Well so I guess I should do a full-wipe then re-install Skyirm and use MO to install my mods then since NMM seems to be the devil.

Hum yep, but I think I'll just re-install everything, I'm done with testing and tinkering for now xD

 

I installed this mod after these crashes started btw, because I wanted to test if the autosaving was the problem, so it's likely that it's not the source. But yep, I usually always read the comments before installing, even more when the mod is not maintained anymore.

 

As for installing mods mid-playtrough, yeah, I try not to install huge overhauls or stuff that chnages quests too much etc obv

 

 

It seems like MO have a nice tutorial/wiki from what I've seen so I'll stick to that. If I have questions/issues not addressed by the wiki I would send you a pm

i think i have experience, but i can't figure out why my game is unstable, it crashes randomly, near whiterun, near abandoned prison, near anywhere, saves open sometimes, sometimes not.

EDIT : Ok I think I found the culprit : OSA. I could load and SAVE a file where I never installed OSA (I removed OSA because I installed SexLab and that seems to be the problem).

 

EDIT2 : Some guy in the OSA comments on Nexus had the same issue, he kinda fixed it so I did the same thing he did : I reinstalled OSA but disabled the ESM and I restored a backup of a save where I did not clean orphaned scripts from OSA. Apparently OSA bundles 3 scripts (_oOmni, a book one and a faction one) that you need to be able to save if you ever installed OSA. So I'm gonna mark this as solved I guess.

 

So, morality : OSA should never be installed in your game. Or it should never be removed if you ever installed it. General morality is do not uninstall script-heavy mods mid-playtrough I guess!

No mod should ever be removed once put in your game also trying to fix a broken save just isn't possible once them stack dumps start hitting and missing references etc etc from uninstalled mods its toast. You have to be mad in thinking its salvageable my advice too you is test out your mods first see how they play out before you commit to an actual playthrough. Did you even try MO out?

EDIT2 : Some guy in the OSA comments on Nexus had the same issue, he kinda fixed it so I did the same thing he did : I reinstalled OSA but disabled the ESM and I restored a backup of a save where I did not clean orphaned scripts from OSA. Apparently OSA bundles 3 scripts (_oOmni, a book one and a faction one) that you need to be able to save if you ever installed OSA. So I'm gonna mark this as solved I guess.

 

So, morality : OSA should never be installed in your game. Or it should never be removed if you ever installed it. General morality is do not uninstall script-heavy mods mid-playtrough I guess!

 

 

No mod should ever be removed once put in your game also trying to fix a broken save just isn't possible once them stack dumps start hitting and missing references etc etc from uninstalled mods its toast. You have to be mad in thinking its salvageable my advice too you is test out your mods first see how they play out before you commit to an actual playthrough. Did you even try MO out?

 

 

Well obviously no mod should be removed mid-playthrough but I'm just a dumb modder who just want to change his mods while playing sadly. I know lot of shit happens obv.

 

Yup my mods are now all installed using MO after doing a clean wipe of Skyrim.

 

Well, I found the "fix" anyway so all's fine
