Not particularity. Sure, one is shaped by one's experiences, but to generalise like that is some Freud-level shit.

Well you are right here. That is why this topic is interesting after all, isn't it? Two different people can be shaped differently by the same experience. It is also possible that someone who has little control in his life will sick that control in virtual reality. It's just a matter of wider perspective.

I would bet that for some of us that the sex domination stuff more closely mirrors our real sex lives and it doesn't seem as real without it. Some women (and maybe men, idk from experience) are just wired to get off on pain and/or domination.

And that is great to hear! Where I am. People seem to be more for "traditional" boring fuckin sex. I suggested to one girl that complained about her sex life that she try some role playing to spice things up for her and her partner. Later she thanked me and said it was great! Two questions: Is there anywhere in the US that is more open to public display of bondage? It seems to me that the US has their feet up their ass in general in this regard. I hear that in some countries it's perfectly normal to see some people walking down the streets in a skintight bondage suit. Not sure of the validity of that though.

 

Second quesion (kind of off-topic, but since people here may know): Do you guys feel the payment and required maintenance for a fleshlight is worth it? lol. Debating to get one with a Vstroker.

Yeah. You go somewhere like Las Vegas and you'll definitely see that stuff. But do that on the streets of other places and you might be askin for trouble. Can't say I know about your second question. You might try a warm Apple Pie. :D

The more I considered this thread's title, the more I noticed the strangeness of the question. 

I mean: why do you think eating ice cream is fun? Taking a bath? Getting drunk? 

It's just fun, if you find it to be fun, and who cares 'why' it's fun, anyway? 

 

The best way to ruin any fun you might encounter on your ballistic trajectory through life, is to internalize it via analysis. 

That's ANAL-ysis. 

 

We do what we do, and while it is sometimes useful to inspect what we do in order to gain insight, most of the time it isn't. 

Which, in a nutshell, is why the entire Western World has almost completely disappeared up its own ass and turned into a morass of neuroses. 

 

The aim is to be natural, without engineering natural to look like it's natural. 

Some of us like BDSM and who cares why, anyway? 

 

For my part, my very early childhood furnished me with plenty of compelling reasons to favor such interests, all of them beyond my control. 

Am I a 'victim'? Possibly, but so what? We're all victims of something-or-other, and that's the risk one runs by being born in the first place. 

 

It's all very mysterious, and that's how it should be. 

Remove the mystery from anything interesting/stimulating, and it is no longer interesting/stimulating. 

 

I don't care 'why'. And if you prefer to live a real life, as opposed to living inside your skull, then neither should you.

Well. That seemed to be eh how do you say "much ado about nothing". Could have just stated that last part in the first place. I'm pretty sure I liked you first post over this. In the end it is all opinion anyway.

 

I mean I don't really care about the why of it -so much as the how. That's actually what I was looking for in the first place. But I would agree that there are people that talk about doing and then there are those that simply do. Simple may be best in all things for that matter. ;)

Hmm. Not sure if it's been said because thread is already TL;DR, but I think your answer lies elsewhere. I'd engage any online kink community, or better yet an IRL one. I don't think LL is at all that different than any BDSM/fet/lifestyle oriented community, and they have plenty to say about the dynamics. There are also plenty of game oriented and RP communities that cater to people who are interested in whole lifestyle at least on a fantasy level, or at one point participated, but for whatever reason can't bring themselves to do it IRL or no longer can/want to engage IRL. I think we just happen to marry that sort of thing with some nerdy modding stuff and enjoy others that do to.

 

Edit: Hmmm, more musings... I do think the fantasy flair adds something to it. The power dynamics that exist between the sexes were historically more pronounced when violence was the norm for solving disputes, and well, men are better at violence for obvious biological reasons. Funcional governments and force equalizers, such as guns, as well as birth control have changed the power dynamics to something far more equitable. I think there is plenty of old (brain) code though that draws men and women towards this sort of thing. 50 shades wouldn't have been a thing if that wasn't true IMHO. Also, sexy BDSM Skyrim is not the first sort of thing in this setting. See the Gorean subculture for another fine example.

I am so envious of your life right now lol! I have only ever had the pleasure to meet one girl like that. Sadly she was unavailable after and I never saw her again.

 

It would seem that sexual fetishes in a game could be considered by some to be nothing more than a pale reflection of life. That is not to say that this is something people don't enjoy in Skyrim. Because they obviously do. Let me be clear when I say that BDSM is not common for most people. So the fact that a talented author took it upon themselves to make this possible in Sky should be greatly appreciated.

 

And since it has been made very clear that no cares why it is fun then I am inclined to say the same and will simply carry on with my sex roleplaying until my dick falls off. Thank you all for your comments. Cheers! :D

Sexual Domination in Skyrim is fun because it allows you to act out fantasies that your partner may be uncomfortable with after all every submissive has their limits and it is the responsibility of the Master/Mistress to know and respect those limits. Also,I invite you all to read a 5 volume comic by the name of Sunstone.

The thread title is a contradiction itself: think - sex - fun. Hello? There is no place for thinking in this equation.

Well then. Let me rephrase the question. There is sex....and then there is sadism. I like to mix a fair amount of pain and humiliation with the sex. The question would be; how much is too much? I like to pull hair and do some slapping (not hitting). Maybe also throw in some mud and a little blood for good measure. The cries for mercy just turn me on more. Am I sick? Or is Sky just one of the best places to realize your fantasies without actually hurting or offending anyone's delicate feelings. So what is that fine line and when are you crossing it? :cool:

 

It's a way to do these things without hurting anybody and there's not really any guilt because nobody is actually suffering and not to mention Skyrim characters are so dull and devoid of any real life (unlike Witcher, for example) that you have no feelings for any of the characters, so its guilt-free. Take "Missing in Action" (quest where you free Thorald and he hides for the duration of the war) They try to make it sad but Bethesda's writers are so incompetent it would only invoke feelings in hyper-emotional people.

 

It is also weird though because I don't think real-life bestiality is attractive, but it is in a fantasy setting (art, Skyrim, etc.) and I can't watch real people be hurt in porn or I just feel guilty, uncomfortable, and sad.

 

P.S. Love Skyrim, but Bethesda's writers are jokes.

You'd be surprised :) It's small wonder that "50 shades" is such a popular book, and if you look a little deeper into other mainstream cultural expression, you will find BDSM everywhere. 

 

I'm somewhat active in the scene, and notice that many of those people (like myself), when they reflect on the past, find that they started to have feelings about BDSM at a rather early age, even if they didn't realise what it was at the time. And given how much of it can be found in mainstream culture, I think that there are many, many more people who share at least some of these feelings, even if they do not run as deep as they do with us.

 

So keep looking (and go to local munches :) )

Truthfully, I don't care for it.  I only really enjoy scenarios where everything is fully consensual, and even just domination roleplaying scenarios are things I try to skirt around.  I believe it's because, intellectually, I recognize that the turn-on factor for a dom or sub is in being forced to obey, or in some other way degrade one's person, and that is a big turn-off for me.

 

That all being said, I still tolerate the scenarios because they are so pervasive that one can hardly delve much into their own personal tastes without necessarily bumping into BDSM or other things one may not particularly like.

Understandable. I think for a lot of people (myself included) it is the wrongness and they dont want to actually do it to anyone. I, for one, would never have the heart to do this. I dont even like insulting people in real life but I enjoy some pretty depraved things as far as fantasy and am horrified by a girl looking uncomfortable during a porn. Still dont like feet, futa, amputation, scat, or pee in fantasy scenarios though.

It was a revelation, to me, to discover that my interest in women being tied up had nothing to do with those women who were being tied up.
