ENB Crash Issues (formerly: Skyrim always muddy and colourless)

Wretched Scum

Recommended Posts

I just can't seem to get my Skyrim Installation to take on any sort of colour. Everything always looks brown, grey and weak on contrasts. Using Enhanced Lightning and FX. Have tried multiple ENBs, none looked like the screen shots.

If anyone has any idea why this might be, It would be greatly appreciated.

As comparison, here is what SuperbENB is supposed to look like:

First you need show a few screenshots of what it looks like in your game and post them under a spoiler. Also tell us what your computer specs are and graphics card so that it'll be easier for someone to see what might be the problem. It could be that your graphics card is going bad but without seeing any screenshots it's only guessing.

Here's some ENB on/off Screens:

Try a mod called Imaginator if you haven't already, lets you adjust a lot of things including colours and contrast. I don't use ENB and I think my game  looks fantastic just from tweaking with Imaginator.

Appreciate the suggestion, but I recall trying imaginator in New Vegas and was not impressed.

That's all I use and am happy. Some contrast, saturation, overall, add blue and magenta = beauty.

Did you edit your SkyrimPrefs.ini allow ENB to apply all effects?

Open SkyrimPrefs.ini (Documents > My Games > Skyrim) and enable these parameters:

bFloatPointRenderTarget=1

bDrawLandShadows=1

bTreeReceiveShadows=1

iBlurDeferredShadowMask=1

The important one is 'bFloatPointRenderTarget' because if it's set to '0' then you won't get the full effects.

You probably didn't install the enb properly.

In essence, these were the problem.

ENB Organiser, a program that I use to quickly install and uninstall ENBs, overwrote any presets with the default ENB binaries. Not the programs fault, I just used it incorrectly.

However, now I have a new problem:

Using any ENB, or even ENBoost crashes my game on loading a save (any save). However, simply using the default binaries works fine. Here is my enblocal.ini for ENBoost:
