XEO : Download and install help please

Ladies and gentlemen, I greet you,

 

I've decided to reinstall Oblivion a while ago. But I got tired of MBP, so I decided to install XEO. 

 

Problem : It makes my Oblivion crash (CTD, on start)..........

 

Again......

And again......

And again..............

 

I've followed this tutorial step by step : http://www.loverslab.com/topic/15185-xeo-sp/   , so it's useless to give it to me. I've already googled my problem, and just saw there are 50 000 versions of XEO, and I don't know which one to pick. And whatever I take, it just keep crashing. I've also resintalled the game, totally clean.

That's it, nothing else. What am I doing wrong, seriously ???? All I want is to change NPC and ad XEO races. So, if someone can link me a true tutorial to install this mod, I would be really grateful.

You started Oblivion with OBSE ? ( Oblivion Steam or DVD version have different ways to start the game with OBSE . See OBSE readme  or read my yellow Link below)

 

What is obseRegress.esp ???

 

With MBP and x117 I can not help, I never used it (not even downloaded it, because I don't like it)

Of course I've started Oblivion with OBSE. And for OBSEregress.esp, I don't even know. 

 

I'll try to verify the cache. It seems it lack at least 1 GO of files. I'll let it download and see if it was important files.

i think you need  boss program for load order file and   use master list  .txt

 

 

and some your mod install  for npc replacer  you can't use the same or kind of mod

I've already used BOSS for my load order, it didn't resolve anything. As for NPC replacer, I want to use XEO, as well as for the races. But I don't even know which XEO mods I should use. May I ask you some download links please ?

I think you didn't understand my problem. I've followed this tutorial STEP BY STEP already. I just tested it with a clean game. It crashes, no matter I launch it with OBSE. BOSS ordering doesn't work either. In short, nothing works. This mod seems broken.

The mod isn't broken, nor are the instructions.  I know, cause I wrote them based installing from vanilla and documenting my steps.  You have missed a step or are doing something wrong.  Until you list out what you have done, show your load order and provide other basic information there isn't jack shit I can do to help you.  Crashing at startup is a symptom of doing something wrong.

 

The only thing I can recommend with zero to work with is try deleting your oblivion.ini file that is located with your oblivion saved games.  Not the one where the game is installed.

I've done what you say and.......it worked...... My Oblivion didn't crash and everything is ok. I don't even know why. But you have all my thanks and gratitude for you answer. 

 

Xeosp++ works now, should I install another one ? Or just leave it alone ? (I have MBP as well).

Install another one what?  XEOSP++ is the latest and most complete.  If you install anything else, it will mess things up.

Remember, XEO is a mod that replaces vanilla NPC's.

 

MBP is a mod resource that other mods draw from.  It does not effect vanilla NPC's.  So you can use MBP and XEO together.
