CTD When Entering Riften

Like the title says... I've spent the last 3 nights trying to get Skryim running with my mods and after some really difficult troubleshooting I managed to get everything running smoothly. No crashes, decent FPS, and best of all all of my mods were working in harmony. Unfortunately I've now found that there was a terrible little bug just waiting in the shadows to ruin my freakin' day. Upon entering the city of Riften I CTD every single time. I've tried starting a new game and I've tried it on my existing ones. I've also tested most of the other cities and found that none of them cause the issue. It's just Riften. I'm afraid to touch my mods for further troubleshooting without at least some sort of guidance/pointing in the right direction as it took so much work just to get to the stable point I'm at now. I would check somethings like SOS make sure the skeleton in it hasn't been overwritten by something else if any of those mods you have installed are follower mods make sure they also have a compatible skeleton. Both of these can cause a CTD when enter the cell and the person doesn't have a compatible skeleton.

I ran into that problem as well.  The original skeleton replacer I was using did not support either SOS or Realistic Force so it worked fine until I got to any area where one of the skeletons from those mods was used at which point I would CTD.  I think some of the animal mods add skeletons as well, werewolves for instance.  Easy to check if you're using Mod Organizer.  Just open up your skeleton replacer and check to see if it's losing any conflicts.

The only time I've experienced the crashing is when entering Riften. I've been playing for hours on my current character as well so I'd assume I would have run into a crash somewhere else if that were the case, yeah?

 

I use NMM. Does it have a similar feature? If not how difficult would it be to switch to Mod Organizer? Would I need to reinstall all my mods?
