Desperate For Stable Play and Sexlab Fun

Is it possible to have a stabilized skyrim playthrough with sexlab framework and its addons? I just feel I spend more time trying to get everything working the way I want it. I'm now on reinstallation number 6 in this month alone trying to find that sweet spot. Reinstalling as we speak. Is there a guide for this sort of thing? Installing meshes textures skeletons sos lite and others. I mostly install armor mods into my game so its easy to fix those if they don't work right. But lately since after 1.59c I've just have had nothing but problems. I really want to play with the new improved version so badly! I would appreciate some pointers and advice! Oh and off topic question with osa and osex I have read all over they are independent of each other but what one do you install first? I've read to many conflicting things online.... :(  I miss the days where I could play my game without ctd's :(

My games maxed out on mods, with loads of script heavy stuff. Pretty stable. I only crash from time to time from extended play because my card overheats (running ENB to extremes).

It's just a matter of clean installs/updates and making sure nothing clashes. Like for example having two script heavy mods that affect/change the same thing in game. ME + SD for example is usually a risky thing to do.

Using the current sexlab version would probably be a good start on the road to stability and also installing the crash fixes mod

It would help if you said what mods you currently have installed, i'm running with 184 at the moment and have not noticed any stability issues

Get a 3rd party defragment program. I found out that the defrag that comes with windows 8 doesn't work and has not been doing its job at all. It has told me I have NO files that were fragmented and I had it set to auto-defrag. I got me a well reviewed and researched 3rd party program and it found 15% fragmentation that totaled over 100gigs. Most of it was skyrim and other games. Pretty sure that was why my scripts couldn't properly bind in papyrus because they were just completely borked even in a vanilla game. So my first suggestion would be do that. Next verify game files and make sure you have what you need. After that run any texture mods that alter world or interiors through texture optimizer. If you don't have many this may only help a little, but it will save you a bit on memory. After that pick only a handful of mods that can give you the best experience and preferably offer a lot of content.

I have been trying to get the current sexlab installs the last 6 times. I've been desperately trying to switch over. Nothing is installed at the current moment since I'm starting from the ground up.

Yeah I agree with you I only use body texture mods and thats it.

Never defrag a SSD though so your advice is only good if you are running from an old style rotating disk.

I think an SSD is a requirement for a stable, mod heavy run. Then you need crash fixes, etc etc. I made one change, that was to move my files to the SSD and now I have no crashes.

Also CASM helps me immensely, since for whatever reason quicksave and autosave tend to crash or slow my game down for a few seconds (something to do with SKSE?). The normal saves don't.

What is casm?

I can't recommand the mod "Crash Fixes" enough, it fixed nearly all my ctds (I use their memory allocation thing).

I heard crash fixes could cause unstable games like skyrim memory blocks and things like that. I've read so much conflicting information online its affecting my decisions in installation to a point where I'm wondering if I'm overthinking? Why do people say not to play with memory allocation?  Anything you could tell me would be appreciated.

I'll be honest and say that a lot of people are probably still running HDD over SSD. But yes perhaps I should have been more specific in that if you are using an HDD you need to make sure its being defragged.

To be honest I'm running my game on a dell laptop I got for college and I think its HDD I will be getting a bomb ass desktop here soon with SSD in it! Which I am really excited about!

Running on a Asus Gamer Laptop with a SSD myself these days (yes, it's nice :)).

Actually I don't know what I did this time around so far but stuff is staying green in wrye bash so that's all I care about. And the best part is the last things I'm installing are my armor mods. It's possible since I just started using osa osex and sexlab new version and sos lite sos floppy that I wasn't installing things in a proper order. But we will see as time goes by how my play through is affected these are all new variables in my current well trying to currently play sessions. I recently switched over from favored souls to sos just for the visual effect for osa osex. I have to admit to I like the favored souls options better than sos lite but sos full would be to hard on my computer. I like the retextures for the male bodies better. I noticed sos only gives you 2 options and when I've looked for compatible textures they don't play well with sos anyway so I'm still unsure if I'll stick with sos. I like my guys hairy but not bear hairy... its creepy lol. Then again to each there own. If anyone knows how to get a texture working like that over sos lite floppy let me know huh. That's were is gets ctd'd I think. Oh and another embarrassing question... I would really like to see a mod for sos sos lite that uses the various sized type differences from favored soul. I think the bigger penis works better for the masturbation animations. lol Totally new to the whole porn thing lol words I've never said in my life... :D XD lol actually I'm a total prude. Actually I kinda feel awkward still at times being a lady and all... I'm still unsure how to feel about a lot of this stuff.  So yeah onwards to armor installations!

I apologize if this is elementary to you but I've found that TES5Edit is a great tool for finding out which mods conflict with each other and what affects what.

That said, I do spend a lot of time running test games trying different mods and making sure things work the way I want them to.

I haven't used it lately but I have in the past. I usually use it when I'm testing mods for friends. lol. Thanks though I ended up getting a green go in wrye finally with all I want installed!

So after weeks of screwing around with things and hours spent tonight I don't know what the hell I did right finally but I have a stable install. I guess it was just trail and error. Remains to be seen though with play through I will let you guys no and I'll post a mod load order if something goes lame. Loves to all thanks!

Mod Organizer is your friend.   Cleaning master files has been a big help to me(

).  If you use a bunch of heavily scripted files then expect to have some crashes.  Also you will want to use loot and update your finis each time you load a new mod.  I don't think I have stressed Mod Organizer enough but it is the best way to remove a mod that you find that is incompatible with the mods that are already present.  I recommend testing after loading no more than three mods.  It is better to test after each new mod loaded.  I just don't have the patients for that.  If you are experiencing crashes while trying to resume a game, I would recommend using Skyrim Unbound and let it start a new game before loading the offending saved game.  This seems to give the computer more time to load and initialize the mods to prevent crashes on startup.

Well I can't speak for the others, but I wouldn't be able to play without it.  First, because of its patch for heavy modded Skyrims like mine, allowing me to go over the 65k strings limit a vanilla save can handle.  As for the memory allocation, never had any issue with it, I think blocks are allowed in a better way but I didn't dig into the code.

Anyway, you're probably overthinking it, you can install it, try it and remove it if you're unsatisfied.  It's not even an esp so it won't take any space in your load order nor leave any mark if you uninstall it (unless you go over the 65k strings limit).

Be sure to read all the instructions about the memory allocator if you try it, I know there are some flags to change in their ini file as well as a plugin that needs to be loaded before skse (it's all explained on the mod page - I think).

I use crash fixes, though I don't use the memory allocator inside it because for me, it crashes more than without. (Without that allocator I can run 2 1/2 - 3 hours, with it I only run about 30 min to an ahour before I crash) I do like the rest of it. I also use a couple of other string fixes that are floating around and it helps me.

My load order is stuffed, literally and figuratively with SL mods, Devious mods and things that probably shouldn't (And don't) play well together. But really it's finding what's working well for you I think. And what you're willing to give on (When it comes to crashing, how high your textures are and whatnot) And what you're willing to do to get things to play nicely. I run lower textures, (1k most of the time, 2k on things that matter like skin) with a good ENB that doesn't add too much extra flash because my card isn't that fancy. But my game is pretty and I can actually play, or get my character trussed up accidentally in blackreach when she was just north of Riverwood.

I'm not running devious devices at all I don't know how that is even showing in my load order? Is it strap that's confusing you that a mashup mod of mine it a non-adult armor. Or are we talking sexlab framework its self? Loot has been very bad about telling me anything when it comes to sexlab stuff its good for armor stuff I noticed though.

Looks like you're missing ZaZAnimationPack.esm.

SexLab/Devious Devices mods require ZaZ Animation Pack to be installed otherwise you'll get a CTD.

btw what do you mean by spoiler? I'm still very new to the whole loverslab forum environment. *Edit* NVM I looked it up in google search to find out what that even meant.

I goofed, whenever I have SexLab installed Devious Devices gets installed to. It's become so automatic when setting up such a load order that I had it in my head that ZAP was also required for SexLab itself, it's only needed for DD.

okay sounds good. could sos full be the problem? xpmse installs its own skeleton and it looks like sos has its own as well in the bain installer.

Nope, as long as you let the XPMSE skeleton overwrite the SOS one everything should work fine. At least it does for me.

The only bigger instability issue I have is the crash when I try to load a savegame from the main menu. Too many animations installed, have to load the starting cell from Alternate Start before loading the actual savegame. But that's no big deal, loading saves from inside the game is stable.

Then again I only have about 150 mods installed, with just 112 plugins to load.

Loot destabilized my game too at some point, I guess resorting the plugins in the middle of a playthrough has that effect, especially if you changed the order Loot put them in by hand before.

But somehow it recovered and now it's stable again.
