Anyway with videos, I would take MxR with a grain of a salt, same as Gopher and anyone else. Both of them for example start sounding so biased for no apparent reason, to whatever replaces the previous.

why do you look at those videos if you don't like them?

have no idea who that gopher or mxr or the others names i heard here are, don't look at youtube mods videos (if those vids are that)

back to the performance crap, tried a texture comparaison mod

on the left it's my bsa

in the middle that's skyrim realistic overhaul

on the right that's tamriel reload

no place for skyrim hd bethesda hires optimised and the rest...

So i only installed 4k texture but launcher resolution is at 1440.. Ssd isnt really a performance upgrade.. My 32bit setup with mod organizer is 60gb on new hyper speed ssd and i moved it to my hdd when 64 was released..performance is the same

Lol nice anti mxr thread..im in..i bought his immersive as fuck tshirt but i hate him hahaha

This quote is an example of mixed signals. You "hate" the dude but buy his shirt?

Anyway with videos, I would take MxR with a grain of a salt, same as Gopher and anyone else. Both of them for example start sounding so biased for no apparent reason, to whatever replaces the previous. Like a car salesman or something. Opinions thrown around as factual, and things within the game that can be changed/altered - all of a sudden the original vision(or whatever is being replaced) is canon fodder to hyperbole. As if it weren't possible to enjoy the taste of both chocolate and vanilla ice cream, alike, or even strawberry for that matter.

Immersive Realistic Immersive Realistic Immersive Realistic Immersive Realistic Immersive Realistic Immersive Realistic.

Realistic and immersive.

It becomes increasingly difficult to decipher neutral information about whatever is showcased in the videos from their spoken word. Brodual is a lot easier for me to impartially digest.

@Phoenix5: I'd suggest picking up classic, as there's more to choose from right now, and it ain't like either are going anywhere. Especially if some things you may be interested in, are unavailable for SSE at this time. You can pick SSE up afterwards(now or later), and there's benefits to having both classic and SSE... especially if you do your own modding, converting, as well as taking advantage of certain tools in classic, and porting the finished created results over to your setup.

I dont know how to get up my statement, im just a little special about some things.. I fuckin hate every youtuber because i hate everything beeing commercialised and beeing hyped. I hate how he making this vids with other guyse work and shine then, reducing skyrim to tiddeys..but i can understand, in this age this must be very interesting and stuff, all talk about fuck mothers and stuff but never hold their dick inside a woman xDD i dont like how he uses other mans work to get his clicks, pulling this girl to the cam only for faggt childs to look at his indeed shitty modded game.. But mxr can be lucky, since loot has been released he can accualy play his game!!wheeey! you know about this other feggits on youtube? Whats his name again? Brodual right... I think his videos are more showcasing mods more information less entertainment but it gets the job done. And hes not acting like a spastic..

Guys the bad truth is, moralty and formats gonna be losed in the internet by silence accepting from nobody is saying things against it, just eat theshit media platforms will teach you.. I hate this since i can. Think and many of you guys act like this i bet.. I dont want to say im misanthrop or something but mankind will revert back to stone age when i watch this.. I came to this forum because i thought people are more open minded here, but sadly i have to understand even many feggts came here also...

These forums are no different than what you describe of youtube, that also goes for nexus, reddit, tumblr, etc, you name it. And this ties into my next point:

Anyway with videos, I would take MxR with a grain of a salt, same as Gopher and anyone else. Both of them for example start sounding so biased for no apparent reason, to whatever replaces the previous.

why do you look at those videos if you don't like them?

have no idea who that gopher or mxr or the others names i heard here are, don't look at youtube mods videos (if those vids are that)

Why? Because like here, nexus, reddit, and other places, there's valuable information that is shared from some very knowledgeable and experienced people on whatever particular things you're looking to better understand. The challenge is being able to recognize and push through all the other outside factors: bullshit, hyperbole, sensationalism, worshiping, trolling, etc. that tends to be loud noise, in a baggage of increasing amounts.

Your posts are a small example, you have and share some useful information, but you crowd it with so much nonsense and condescending trolling, it gets more difficult to try and see the real shit you're trying to share with folks.

The worst is if I happen to get caught up in it, too, and start stooping to the same levels - it happens to everyone. Think of it like a cafeteria; once the noise volume goes up, everyone talks louder and louder whether they actually wanted to or not.

Lastly, I didn't say anything about not liking the videos, they can be pretty entertaining. But like I said, the moment I'm looking for an impartial video, it definitely wouldn't be from either of those two mentioned spoken word.

This stuff just makes me a lurker, when participating can have you caught up in dumb shit.

The strongest gap on ->modern hardware <- meaning hardware made in the last two years is RAM speed for Skyrim and any other Bethesda title, actually, even DooM. RAM speed directly effects average mean frame time and minimum frame rate (again note that I said minimum and not maximum) which will directly affect smoothness, which is pretty big deal because of incredibly unoptimized BethBryo titles tend to be.

Memory speed will be the the issue needed to be addressed the most if you intend to have a good skyrim or fallout experience with a metric fuckton of mods installed.

The next will be headroom, if you have enboost and meh123's fixes installed. The more you have, the more it can load. Pretty simple.

An SSD will be next largest boost in performance and this will directly impact cell loading most of all.

The next is the GPU, and the more literal brute force you can throw at Skyrim and its incredibly crappy shadow implementation, the higher your attendant framerate will be.

Quick question, are these kinds of graphics achievable in game or is this just a video someone's made?

http://www.pornhub.com/view_video.php?viewkey=ph56ef36b8ceddb

achievable, you can get better visuals than that there are countless enb's for original skyrim on internet but make sure PC you will be building is strong enb's require high end PC's.

Yeah I've got a couple of guys at work that are heavy into PC gaming but they're not really modders, so they're recommending the high end graphics cards but don't seem that bothered about CPU or RAM. What would be the priority to achieve this? Or is it a combination of all 3?

CPU and GPU. skyrim is very CPU intensive it requires decent quad core or better CPU to run smoothly. thats for vanilla game add mods on top specially some heavy weight mods like enb then you really need strong CPU and GPU. get a decent i5 or better from intel and a amd/nvidia GPU of your choice depending on what resolution you want to play to match the CPU, you don't want to see CPU bottlenecking your high end GPU, it will be a money waste then.

would this cut it?

https://uk.pcpartpicker.com/user/Joehayton/saved/#view=j99rHx

I hope you didnt already buy that pc, Because I would strongly suggest not buying a mATX mobo.

just wait for the the new generation if intel CPU's (Kabylake) and then buy a entry-level chipset "ATX" Motherboard, Then you have some options to expand in the future!

This would be a lot more balanced:

THANK YOU!!! No was just about to drop the cash on it tomorrow, everyone that recommended it doesn't play Skyrim or mod much so I'll gladly take your advice. So I take it the SSD needs to store Skyrim and all mods and the Seagate is just meant for random shit?

i would advise to wait and save more money only 500gb storage won't be enough for modern PC specially for installing games, reserving space for windows, mass storage and specially for modded skyrim you will have to add HDD for storing mods specially texture mods they take 1gb of space easily my mods folder is over 100GB and still growing for oldrim SSE doesn't have that much mods so its no more than 24GB currently also installing mods will duplicate files even further. MOBO ain't good either don't go for cheap micro atx boards, MOBO is most important component of PC it runs everything, a cheap faulty mobo could damage all other components. gfx card is entry level but can very well play skyrim with lots of visual mods at highest settings but without enb's you won't be getting that visuals we talked about earlier with this card nope, you will need atleast gtx 1060 for running enb's with acceptable framerates.

No need to thank me, I'm just here to make you build the best pc for your budget :D!

Just put windows and a few smaller games on the SSD and the big games on your HDD, The HDD is more for long time storage of video's, pictures and games.

if you want i give you ingame video with resource monitor, but not right now because im uploading shit with mobile internet and such video is more than few mbs^^

one thing i noticed for me is as soon as i install flora overhaul i get a huge drop in about 10 to 15 fps.. thats why i use david trees..grass mod is grassfield with modified grass plant from enb green grass.doesnt impact framerate at all neither than verdant or compare, this kill my frames instantly to 10 XD so if u use grassfield+4k pfuscher textures there will be huge impact also..you can save alot fps and achieve great visuals without sfo+verdant..i mean if you like game bright and colorfull xD

why didn't he gave the meshes a bigger uv map instead?

161203093212292150.jpg

same as above, that's 4k texture is just copy paste of 2k texture

bigger texture better texture, or not

think i'll keep the 1k crap for now

This.

The above said you don't need to go crazy on the CPU either. A sold i5 with 4 cores and 4 threads like a i5-6600k is all you need for gaming. You are better off getting an i5-6600k than say an i7-6700k if you take the money you saved on getting the i5 and spend that on getting a better graphics card, for a "gaming" machine.

Considering Skyrim is immensely affected by threading and spooling speed and he asked for a skyrim specific machine, and multithreading is standard in all Dx12 apps, you are objectively incorrect.

Zen marks the end of the "i5 is good enough" era pretty definitively, and so does dx12. Whilst Kaby Lake scales extremely well compared to the two previous gens, threading and bandwidth now matter as much as raw frequency.

wonder how many have an idea what that kaby lake is, or know the difference between i5 and i7

here's something easier to understand than blabla

i am in whiterun, tfc, and let's check what i am rendering from whiterun

161204063028561226.jpg

because of that those waterfalls look nice from far away

low fps because there's whiterun behind that mountain

lower fps than in whiterun because there's more stuff i can't see to render from here

161204063108275862.jpg

game don't need mods to render useless things

161204063024790472.jpg

that's somewhere behind markarth, and behind that, there's some water (and some ground under it)

161204063127174652.jpg

and here's whiterun when i am in markarth

161204063139702624.jpg

riverwood bridge give an idea of the real size of that very huge river

some mods add more useless stuff of render

161204063044225983.jpg

161204063141166631.jpg

more mods, more mess

161204063138291752.jpg

tourism in morrowind

161204063050633206.jpg

very usefull to render a river behind a moutain nobody can see from skyrim (the nothing zone on the left, without console commands, you can't get close enought to see it)

161204063102737758.jpg

if you add more and more stuff that have "no impact" on performance, you will see the impact on performance

the urban legend about scripts are the stack dumps spamming when are above the limit (bigger impact on performance with papyrus log enabled)

auto unequip arrow impact on performance may be not much, like screenshot assist, or most of the rest, but once you have too much, you have too much

Kabylake: the successor to the current 14nm Skylake generation of Intel CPU's.

I5: the quadcore without hyperthreading mainstream cpu's from intel.

I7: These are like the I5's but better binned and with hyperthreading.

maybe you should get new rig, resolution of textures shouldnt impact framerate..you are very toxic btw XD

have an a10-7850k radeon 4.1 ghz with a radeon 480 8 go...

why don't you show some pics of your "4k" skyrim so we can compare?

and while you are it, make a few save, and reload them without texture to show us if it have no impact on fps

to proof you im not a bla bla guy, here are a few screenshots of my game and i provided a package with my enb, inis, chars, modlist+loadorder..make investigations on your own..60 fps indoors always and outdoors 40 to 50

if you want i give you ingame video with resource monitor, but not right now because im uploading shit with mobile internet and such video is more than few mbs^^

one thing i noticed for me is as soon as i install flora overhaul i get a huge drop in about 10 to 15 fps.. thats why i use david trees..grass mod is grassfield with modified grass plant from enb green grass.doesnt impact framerate at all neither than verdant or compare, this kill my frames instantly to 10 XD so if u use grassfield+4k pfuscher textures there will be huge impact also..you can save alot fps and achieve great visuals without sfo+verdant..i mean if you like game bright and colorfull xD

Kickass prZ. I have that same card. I'm going to try and mimic your settings because i'm only getting 50ish fps standing facing an interior wall. what version ENB you running?

what make you think he have 60 fps on his screens?

here's another useless test

161213064457941587.jpg

grass folder renamed to _grass

161213064455831822.jpg

coc riverwood from main menu (to check the difference with a save where have done everything)

161213064449408375.jpg

tree folder renamed to _tree it's a ctd... but without tamriel reload esp

16121306451948040.jpg

too many trees that's a problem, 30 trees instead of 15 in treelod texture, that mean lods twice crappier

161213064510230905.jpg

going to interior to remove esp won't save you from leftovers like those 2 trees lods

with verdant meshes (just the meshes not the esp)

161213065001753694.jpg

and something that don't make much sense, enb is vivid

161213065021455974.jpg

enb on with everything off, fps cost: 6

161213065025764856.jpg

timing measure is also performance hungry, but that one can be turn off

161213065015763194.jpg

it's not your fps in cities that matter anyway, dragons no longer come there after alduin death

161213065056372424.jpg

40 or 50 fps that don't make any difference, but if you drop below 30, game turn off wind on trees

if you can do that without crashing, your game is stable

tcl, setav speedmult 5000, and try some markarth riften solitude run...

161213065054469089.jpg

game don't have the time to replace lods

hdt can't follow either
