Follower won't follow after getting downed (defeat?)

So I've had this problem since I started modding Skyrim years ago. Everyone once in a while in one of my saves, when my follower gets downed, after they get up they just stand there and don't follow me. I can fast travel, continue without them, attack them, no matter what I do they just stay in the same spot. In the past, this has made me start whole new characters. If i tell them to part ways, nothing happens, either. Dialogue will end, and if i talk to them again, it'll give me the part ways dialogue again, as if I didn't tell them to leave already. Has anyone ever experienced this bug before? I'm at a loss at what may cause it, I even got rid of my follower mods but it still happens. The only other thing I imagine could be causing it is Defeat possibly? Load order is bellow:

Why is USLEEP at your loadorder a esp and not a esm?

Dont use Brawl Bugs CE.esp with Modern Brawl Bug Fix.esp . Remove Brawl Bugs CE.esp because Modern Brawl Bug Fix.esp does the same thing but newer!

I played alot with Defeat and never had that problem.

A bit late, but i found your topic after experiencing the same problem. I just found out the bug happens because of a script of defeat hanging, You can solve this problem by using the clean function of defeat (first page when opening mod in MCM)
