Tutorial

Step 1 (Extracting)

1. Go to your data folder then copy and paste Skyrim - Voices.bsa and Skyrim - VoicesExtra.bsa into the directory that you extracted BsaAopt. Run BsaAopt, click Browse at the top, then locate the BSA that you wish to extract... Now click Unpack. Note: You can also change the directory that you unpack it to by clicking on the Browse button bellow.

2. Close out BsaAopt then select the folder that you wish to use, such as FemaleArgonian... Select all the files inside and drag and drop it into the folder you extraced Unfuzer into. Run Unfuzer and click on Unfuz (Fuz->Xwm>Wav)... Your files are now ready to be edited.

Step 2 (Locating)

1. Now run Voice File Reference Tool and you should see a list of voices on the left which you can use in order to narrow down your search... Click in the filter box section at the bottom, then type in the text you wish to use if it is available. This is where you have to mix and match words in order to create sentences... Note: It's best to start with the first few words, then make your way down.

2.Once you've found the words you wish to use, you'll need to open up the wav file that you extracted with audcaity... Note: Make sure to search your folder by clicking on the search button in your directory, then opening up your files by searching for the last 8 alphanumeric characters. for example... "bqshared_bqsharedsharedinf_000cba95_1" so... "000cba95". This will make it alot easier to find files quickly.

Step 3 (Editing)

1. Open up your file in Audacity, inside you'll see the sound file waves... Click on the selection tool button, then cut out any lines of dialog you don't need by clicking and highlighting any sections you wish to delete, then hit the delete key. Now you have a section of the sound file ready to be used...

2. Now open up the next part of the sentence that you wish to use in Audacity and do the same, then click ctrl A to select the entire sound file and click ctrl C in order to copy it...

3. Now go back to your first sound file and use the selection tool, click the section where you wish to paste it, then hit Ctrl V. Once you have finished editing your sound file to your likeing... click File, Export Audio then save... NOTE: You can also use the edit button in order to select, copy and paste everything.

You can use the filter tools in order to clean, edit and warp your files by clicking on the selection tool, then highlighting the wave you wish to edit.. I'll list what I use bellow, and what they do.

Change Tempo: This makes words sound quicker or slower.

Change Speed: It's basically the same as Change Tempo, but it sounds more slurred.

Fade In/ Fade Out: This is very useful for blending.

Amplify: This just increases or decreases the volume.

Click Removal: This gets rid of any background noise. You can also use Noise Reduction.

Change PI=itch: This changes the pitch of the sound.

Step 4 (Prepping)

Once you have edited the sound file to your liking, it is then ready to be used. Open up the folder where you extracted MultiXwm and extract your completed sound files, now open Multixwm.exe, click add files and search for your completed sound file... Open your wav file and make sure type is set to audio -> xwm and Bitrates is set to 192/kbs for better sound quality. Now hit start and it should create a xwm file.

Step 5 (Adding)

1. Open up creation kit, load your active mod, search for your dialog by clicking on Edit, then Search Text... You can also search for your text by opening up your quest and going through the quest tabs...

2. Once you have found your dialog, open it up, then double dlick on the response text. You should see a box at the very bottom... this will show you the directory where you place your finished wav and xwm files. Once you have finished doing that, all you need to do is type in the line of text you wish to use then click the voice file in the box bellow, click on from Wav, then hit Generate Lip File: You have now fully voiced one line of dialog...
