Hello LL, in a bit of a pickle here.

I am not an expert modder by any means, but I did manage to get very near the 255 .esp limit on my first(-ish) playthrough, and I managed to get it fairly stable after a few tweaks. Now, however, I have decided to start anew, and things have not gone well.

I mention my first playthrough because, while it should be, to the best of my knowledge, completely irrelevant to my current game, it is not. I first noticed signs of trouble in my original save when Hulda turned up with purple hair. I figured it was some conflict between Amorous Adventures, Bijin-Everything, and possibly Apache Hair. Annoying, but Hulda's a sidechick at best, so I wasn't too upset.

Then, however, I noticed my character's face becoming very, very dark. Not black, not grey, but a deep brown, like a soccermom who hibernates in a tanning booth for three months at a time.

Behold.

I couldn't figure out how to fix this, and as I had lost interest in my current game, decided to scrap it and start over.

Back to Helgen, and since I had read somewhere it's best to wait until you're done with the tutorial to import mods, back to the vanilla game.

Or so I thought.

Come the character creation screen, I saw that the brown face had followed me. What's more, it had brought friends. Evidence of SkyUI, RaceMenu, Eyes of Beauty, along with a couple others I can't remember right away were all there as well.

This was, understandably, baffling. This save was *totally* unmodded. Only the official DLCs were active (on second thought, the Unofficial Skyrim Legendary Edition Patch may have been active as well, but I do not think it was).

How? What? No! What do I do?

I decide that I must have somewhere royally corrupted my vanilla game's files, and immediately verified the cache in Steam. Reload.

Brown face is still there, along with everything else. I accidentally figured out how to fix it, however. Alt+Ctrl+Del on Win 10, then hit Cancel so it takes me back into Skyrim. Voila. Brown face is fixed, though the other "Ghost Mods" remain. I don't mind, so, having found a fix, proceed with my game. Complete the tutorial unmodded save for Racemenu (deactivating this had no impact, btw) then load my mods once I'm out of Helgen,

All is well until Riverwood.

Regard!

This is similar to the original glitch which affected Hulda when this whole mess started. It is worth noting that this does not affect all NPCs which Bijin and Amorous Adventures affect. Camilla and Delphine are both fine. Only Hulda and Gerdur have the dark face and purple hair (actually don't know if Hulda had the dark face, but definitely the purple hair), and my character only has the dark face.

How.... IN THE WORLD... has this happened? I'm obviously missing something. There must be some file structuring logic or some other bullcrap which I am ignorant of. How does a completely unmodded, freshly verified, .esm-cleaned (also tried it uncleaned, btw) not only have radical glitches present, but also content from mods which aren't even in, nor have they ever been in, the save file?

Please forgive me for my very lengthy and over-dramatic post, but (1) I know you guys love details, (2) I'm a fanfic writer (and a damn fine one, if I say so myself), and (3) it's late, and I always get wordy when I'm tired. Plz hlp.

Aha! You thought I forgot my load order. Silly goose. Here is the setup I have at the moment, in which all described glitches are present. I will post pictures of them, since I am WAY too lazy to type it all out. Which is a bit hypocritical, considering the freaking book of a post which I've just wrote.

Do you have an ENB or ENBoost? I had mine incorrectly installed with the same side effect (I was experimenting with ENB Organizer and hadn't figured out how to use it correctly).

If you uninstall the ENB files and the problem goes away, that's your answer.

1. Have no idea how to replace the troublesome textures myself, would need some help here.

2. I did indeed download ENB, but it is only so I can use ENBoost. I do not use a preset or anything like that. If I do need to delete this, is simply ripping out any files which pertain to ENB out of my computer enough? Or do I need to screw with the .ini files?

3. The Bijin files are last on the load order, and they directly affect these NPCs. How could they possibly be being overwritten? They might be, and I will check, but I'm just curious as to how something higher on the load order could overwrite something at the very bottom? Doesn't a lower file ALWAYS overwrite a higher one in the case of a conflict?

4. Care to tell me what I should be looking for and what I should change in "FixTintGamma" in enblocal.ini?

5. Why are the vanilla textures also giving me these problems?

6. Thank you for your speedy responses, please be patient with my ignorance here.
