No one talks

My friend just downloaded the game and no one talks and there's no dialogue, not even subtitles. There's no way to pass helgen since no one speaks and can't continue. No mods are being used and it's just the vanilla game. Reinstalled multiple times and still no one talks and even tried to verify game cache. Anyone have any idea how to fix this.

That's...weird. Um...is he using SKSE, or running it the vanilla way via Steam?

Try deleting the ini files in your skyrim folder that is located in your documents
