"She" race requeriemnts

I was looking forward to install the shojo race just to use the she race. However, I have to install "Children of the wasteland" in order to install the mod. 

Is that requirement really necessary when playing with the "She" race?

I've also heard that the nexus version of the mod is a bit buggy. Are there more stables/bug-free versions out there?

Been playing She race without CoTW. Works without any problem.

I am not sure what you mean by "buggy", I used the one off nexus without any problems either.
