Wait so the most Recent version of this mod has the magazines spawn in chests and as random magazine spawns? Is this correct or did i miss something?

Download the original mod and install that, then download and overwrite the original esp with the one I posted and they should then start being found in random pre-war containers, trash cans, news stands and desks.

Hey I just created a level list (in fallout 4 editor) added all the mags to the ll and put it in the newspaper container level list. Was simple and you can tweak the % chance of them showing up. I put mine at 50% but I'm going to tweak it lower.

To be clear I made a level list for each magazine type and inserted them into a generic mag level list that I inserted into the newspaper container level lists. (it's easier than it sounds, really.)

It does mean you have a chance of getting multiple copies but those I use as clutter on coffee tables and the rest I store in magazine displays. Awesome job by the way.

So I guess after reading more it seems you already did this LOL so guess that was worthless input.

Nope, as long as you learned something out of it everything is great, and yeh, you look like you did the it the same way I did, but I think they drop far too often, I am intending to re-do, my version and then post it here, but at present I am moving over to my new gaming rig, and copying my stuff across is taking ages, took me 4 days just to copy my steam drive, and now I have another 4 2tb drives to copy over to the new machine, tedious is the word, and that's copying across a wired network, do not want to know how long it would take on my usb docking station.

Leveled lists are tedious, but not too hard to do, though armour and weapons lists are major hassle, as light gauntlets, heavy gauntlets, possibly 2-3 different lists for gauntlets, then repeat for all the other armour pieces, ack, I was so glad to find lootification for skyrim, now all we need is the equivalent for fallout 4.

Wish I had a new gaming rig but my R9 AMD 280 holds fairly well and my 775 socket quad-core holds...kinda.?

It does drop too often I'm mchanging mine to a 10% chance and seeing how that goes or maybe 25% dunno.

Think that's what I had it set at, but in my new game I am not getting them to drop at all, which is odd, as I usually find them in trash cans and news stands, sigh, wish I could get wryeflash for fallout 4 to actually work which may well sort out some of my problems.

Though I am not sure if the problem with it is me running it through mo2 0.8b or because of problems with the program itself, and loot well, that simply does not work, blank screen with nothing on it, same as I have had with the last 3 versions of it, will not even work with mo 1.3.1 is it?

No worries, though I think I may have to take another look as in my current play through I have yet to find even one of these magazines in any of the containers they should spawn in, which is pretty weird as in my last game I found the pretty often in trash and news stands, now not even one.

I did a new game as well and they popped up on some raiders, trashacans but not in newstands where I put them lol. I was like wtf? So I doubled checked the level lists and it's still done right so I tweaked the % to 50 for each catagory and we'll see what happens. I manually update all the  level lists and yes it's a pain in the but. Plus you have to be so very carefull the Fallout 4 editor (great tool as it is) can sometimes not communicate well with F4 data for some reason.

One thing I loved about Fallout 3 was how easy it was to get things to appear in game and how little conflict it created in the process...As long as you made the input data correct. it was however, unforgiving when it came to errors you created.

I love the Fallout 4 game it's a vast improvement over F3 and Fallout NV but it's also harder to work with.

Game is a lot more stable that's for sure, but I think part of the problem is the fallout4 ck (which is what I made my version with), is still in beta as far as I am aware.

I always found the xedit program to be clunky as hell when trying to do anything, something I can do in ck in 5 min always seems to take me 10-15 in xedit.

I figured out what happened: I created a merged patch and changed a mod hence instant form id update and the ids no longer matched the root ids. That also supports how great this game is that it didn't crash because of it. F3 would have crashed so bad. Rookie mistake ugh!

As I said I would here is my revamped version of the level list, drop rate should be much lower than the previous version I uploaded.

a2b_mof.esp

Install should be as simple as overwrite the original file in the fallout\data directory.

You may well then want to make either a bashed patch or merged patch with fallout 4 edit so that if anything else changes the same leveled lists they will all merge into one.

Not sure why anyone would want the drop rate to be fewer, I think the drop rate is fine, but that's just me. I'm not finding the mags that often myself.

It would be nice to see them added into various raider camps, or laying out on random desks and in abandoned houses and such where appropriate, maybe stick a few under mattresses or beds in some of the abandoned houses.

With my original posted version I was getting sometimes 2-3 different magazines at the same time, and occasionally getting multiple copies of the same thing, there again I do tend to loot everything in sight.

And adding them to various actual locations like the original books are would be kinda tedious, though there is nothing stopping you doing so.

Oh. I've encountered maybe one or two instances so far where I've found more than one magazine in a trash can or news stand. Most of the time I find nothing or I find some other item. Though I also don't play Fallout 4 very much after getting as far into the story as I have, it's just kind of repetitive, also my game lags a lot, especially around the cities with frame rates as low as 3 or 4 frames a second, and it just makes playing rather tedious and unpleasant.. also I wish the game had better music, something without an accordion would've been nice but there's not much that can be done about that.

Anyway I digress

Where do I specifically put everything from the download? Like where in my fallout 4 folder to get this mod to actually work.

Copy and paste the esp into fallout 4\data, it should ask if you want to overwrite, if it does not then it will be where ever the mod was installed to, that location will be up to you to find as you installed whichever mod manager you are using.

Heya a2b, would you mind if I took a crack at trying to add perks to the mags? I have a few ideas on what effects can be associated with them. Like the wasteland fucking could increase AP and refresh speed, the Zipp mags could confer various effects while the player is nude, Commonwealth Hentai could have individual perks like Awesome Tales but with a twist, stuff like that.

So I went ahead and made a module that places all of the magazines into the Commonwealth.  Bombshell Babes can be found in military locations, Commonwealth Hentai are found within raider locations, Vault Porn magazines can of course be found in locations related to Vault-Tec, Wasteland Fucking magazines are found more generally in Settler locations or neutral NPC locations, and ZIPP magazines are found in Pre-war locations that may have had teenage boys (high schools and the like).  I may add perks to the magazines too, if anyone has ideas about what perks to choose that aren't too overpowered.  I have not tested all of the magazine locations, but I believe most if not all are in locations accessible from the beginning of the game.

Hey there,

It's been over a year but, I just found this mod and your post. Your work is one with much effort invested in, so many thanks!

And I seriously think yours should be attached to the main download as a version with actual spawn points. Adds much immersion to the game
