Make NPC Marriagable

Did you alter her affection level, too?

You need a certain affection level to be able to marry an NPC. (That's why you usually do quests for them to raise it) Adding them to the marriageable faction alone doesn't help if the affection level isn't right already.

Just open the console, click on the NPC you want to marry, to show its ID/make it a target in the console and enter the following: setrelationshiprank player 4

Now the NPC loves you.

(you can add NPCs to the marriageable faction per console too. The comand would be: addfac 19809 1

(Note that you will have to target the NPC for that to work, too, e.g. click on her with the console opened to make her ID visible)

No need for CK here at all.

Make sure that you are wearing an amulet of Mara, AND have talked to to the priest of the Temple of Mara in Riften before you try. Other than that, marriage options won't show up either.

The guy can be found in the Bee and whatever (Can't remember the English name, but it's the thing quite to the center of Riften) if you're looking for him the first time. He also has the option to sell the Amulet of Mara, if you're too lazy to search for it.

You can also add one by console by typing: help "Amulet of Mara", which shows its ID, and then typing: player.additem IDYOUGOT 1

You'll still have to find that priest first and talk to him about marriage and all that stuff.

Finally, isn't one of the Avveiccis supposed to die some time after you killed the first dragon? Not sure if it was her, though. I'm not good with names at all. x) Plus you might rather want to get a sexy follower you could marry instead of standard NPCs which are ugly~ but that's just a personal thought so simply ignore it if you want. :P

Oh and to make any NPC your follower via console:

Stand in front of that NPC, open the console again, target it to highlight its ID as mentioned above, then type in: addfac 5C84D 1

Don't forget to set their affection level again. For a follower you want to also marry, I'd be 4 again (lovers) for a mere follower it'd be 3 (allies)

If something shouoldn't work as intended, you might need to type in: player.setrelationshiprank 4 (or 3) while the NPC's ID is highlighted, that makes YOU the player love/trust the other NPC if it is required.

Once an NPC is your follower, you can adjust their behavior and class and all kind of stuff in the console, to make them act the way to want them. In the following spoiler are a couple of setups copied from a guide Loneshade has on the nexus:

-----------------------------------------------------

NPC behavior: NIGHTBLADE (thief/caster)
-----------------------------------------------------
- setclass 1317c (Nightblade)
- addspell 7d98f (firebolt, one handed)
- addspell 40000 (icebolt, one handed)
- addspell 7231c (healing, one handed)
- setav magicka 35 (more NPC casts too much, less hardly ever)
- setlevel
(make them similar strength to yourself not to unbalance the game)
- setav health <5xlevel> (make them similar strength to yourself not to unbalance the game)
- setav stamina <5xLevel> (make them similar strength to yourself not to unbalance the game)
- setav onehanded 60
- setav lightarmor 100 (don't want them to die too easy)
- setav sneaking 100 (don't want them seen unless you are)
- setav lockpicking 50
- setav destruction 100 (no worries, the spells given are weak enough)
- setav restoration 80
- setav agression 1
- setav confidence 3

The character will sneak when you do and only attack when you are, or if hit.
You can equip them with items in the game on your own. I'd recommend one-handed weapon and light armor.

-----------------------------------------------------
NPC behavior: WARRIOR
-----------------------------------------------------
- setclass 13176 (Warrior)
- setav magicka 0 (not a spellcaster)
- setlevel
(make them similar strength to yourself not to unbalance the game)
- setav health <10xlevel> (make them similar strength to yourself not to unbalance the game)
- setav stamina <5xLevel> (make them similar strength to yourself not to unbalance the game)
- setav onehanded 80
- setav twohanded 80
- setav marksman 50
- setav lightarmor 60
- setav heavyarmor 100 (don't want them to die easy)
- setav block 100 (don't want them to die easy)
- setav agression 3
- setav confidence 4

No doubt you want to equip the NPC with the best armor and weapons you have, but this can be done in game without any further console commands.

-----------------------------------------------------
NPC behavior: MAGE
-----------------------------------------------------
- setclass 1317a (Mage)
- addspell 2dd29 (lightning bolt)
- addspell 12fd0 (Firebolt)
- addspell 10f7ec (Ice Spear)
- addspell b62ee (Healing)
- addspell 4deea (Fear)
- setlevel
(make them similar strength to yourself not to unbalance the game)
- setav health <5xlevel> (make them similar strength to yourself not to unbalance the game)
- setav magicka <10xlevel> (make them similar strength to yourself not to unbalance the game)
- setav stamina <5xLevel> (make them similar strength to yourself not to unbalance the game)
- setav onehanded 60
- setav sneaking 80 (not to have them start all the fights on their own)
- setav destruction 100 (no worries, the spells given are weak enough)
- setav restoration 80
- setav agression 1
- setav confidence 2

In case they are overdressed (e.g. armor) you can use "showinventory" on them and then do a "removeitem
1" for anything you don't want them to wear. Afterwards you can equip them normaly in game, also with standard clothing.

-----------------------------------------------------
NPC behavior: Ranger
-----------------------------------------------------
- setclass 13181 (Ranger)
- setav magicka 0 (not a spellcaster)
- setlevel
(make them similar strength to yourself not to unbalance the game)
- setav health <5xlevel> (make them similar strength to yourself not to unbalance the game)
- setav stamina <10xLevel> (make them similar strength to yourself not to unbalance the game)
- setav marksman 80
- setav onehanded 60
- setav lightarmor 100 (don't want them to die too easy)
- setav sneaking 80
- setav agression 1
- setav confidence 2

No doubt you want to equip the NPC with the best bows and best light armor you have, but this can be done in game without any further console commands.

Be aware that you make these changes (regardless if through the CK or the console) at your own risk. You know, thismightbreakyourgameoryoursavegameorleadtounintendedproblemsandifyoudontlistentheworldwillexplodetoo... ;) Just make a backup save before you do all of that, and get rid of the changes you did in CK, no need for that, like I said.

(I did the marriage 'trick' on a follower added by a mod, that was flagged not marriageable per default, everything is fine. :) I just wanted to marry HIM desperately.)

great tips thanx again!

just wanted to add that BIJIN WARMADENS or WIVES mod overhauls alot of the vanilla npcs in game and are as pretty if not more so than alot of the standalone follower mods out there!

Adrianne Avenecci doesn't die. i'm not sure who you're referring to but i'm curious now bc i don't recall anyone getting killed by dragons as part of the story line

Link to comment

I'm pretty sure it was one of the Aveniccis. After doing some quests I got in Whiterun, and then killing the first dragon just outside the city a messenger came up to me, telling me that a good friend of mine died, and due to their last will, I inherited some gold.

Edit: Glad I could help. :)

Link to comment

Yea, Adrainne Avenicci is not essential NPC and can die. She died many times in my game in Vampire attacks of Whiterun. Vampires always attack Whiterun when player reach level 8. So, to prevent that, I always go to Whiterun in earlier levels and made her essential using the mod or a console command.

Link to comment

NPC's that you have been friends with or had sex with that are listed as lovers when they die you get the inheritance letter and some gold.

- I get this a lot after doing a sneak feed and kill on bandit's with my succubus character (probably cause i have that sex improves disposition enabled in one mod or another), but yeah feed then kill and when I get to the next town the messenger comes running up offering cash and a letter of inheritance -

As for a mod that can make anyone a marriage partner.

Look to http://www.loverslab.com/files/file/2811-the-manipulator/

You have to place the npc under your cross hair and show there name then go into the MCM menu for "Manipulator" and under people you can get into that npc's inventor, make them like you, enable as a marriage partner, set them to immortal, tweak there cloths, etc.... very powerful tool.

Link to comment

Aaaah yeah, it was her! Hehe on my current save I'm only level 4 ^_^

I think I'll go there and make her essential too. I don't like people dying on me if I can't even do something about it.

I didn't even know these attacks where level-based. I just wondered what caused them when they happened on my first save (I got to level 12 before I destroyed it.)

Plus I am terribly afraid of becoming a vampire myself. I use to forget to check the magic effects currently in effect on me, and sadly Skyrim stores your diseases too. I would be totally lost if NPCs wouldn't react to stuff like that from time to time while passing them.

Like: "Eh don't take it personally, but you look terrible!" And I am like: What? Please don't let it be... *checks magic effects* On top of that I always carry dozens of potions with me to cure any disease - if I might notice it anyway.

I've heard that I will have to become either a Vampire or a Werewolf later on anyway. :s But there should also be a quest-line to revoke that again. I really don't like either of the options. :P

lol comrade Isbaryia - I don't care if all Whiterun citizen would be killed by vampires but not Adrainne, Carlotta, Hulda and Ahlam... Bijin did powerful makeover of those NPCs except Ahlam. :)

As for becoming vampire and werewolf, it's only temporary. You don't have to become a vampire at all, but when you and if you join to Companions, you will be turned to werewolf only briefly and of course, once you finish the main quest you might get healed.

Yup I joined them without knowing who they were and was quite shocked when I found out. xD

lol - if you have Bijin war-maidens mod, make sure to have sex with Aela, Njada and Ria.. They are very hot. ;)

I don't have the mod installed. I could have a look at it though, if it doesn't mess with anything I have installed.

As for the sex... I'm married... so... eh... I just can't do that. Can't get over my own morality - Maybe on another savegame staying single. :P

I respect that. Well my Adam Arher is married too ... with several ladies (20) ;) but his favorite one is Michaela. lol.... We both enjoy in group sex... and we practicing it a lot.

Link to comment

And here I was, thinking elves that found their love stop having group sex underneath the trees... :D

Off course I have tested every mod installed to my hearts content before I found out that I could actually marry the follower I wanted, although he was flagged as not marriageable. (And I couldn't use CK at that time)

And I've seen a lot of kinks, including orgies and creature stuff and well... even things that made me laugh out loud. Ever seen the sweetroll masturbation animation for males? That one is just hilarious. Reminds me of the infamous apple-pie, only that this one is even better.

adrianne is the hottest babe in skyrim with bijin and her marriage dialogue is fucking hilarious... try it out.

-Must agree. Among all Whiterun ladies, Adrianne Avenicci is the hottest.  I always have sex with her when come to visit to Whiterun. First I do her alone, and then together with my follower Michaela. :)  Before Bijin's mod, I ignored Hulda and Charlota, but now.. my god.. those ladies are "must do", after Adrianne A. of course. :)

I can't, I'm already married to a sexy darkelf, I'm monogam aaaand I wouldn't cheat on him either. (Fuck morality! :s)

- my friend.. you should relax. Your game character isn't in real world, but Skyrim, bloddy, dirty, weird, sexy, kinky, perverted... you should take all its advantages and let your character and your spouse enjoy in wild wild Skyrim ;):P

I'm not using AIO but separate installation. And as for patching the game with USLEEP, you don't have to worry: I have many Old mods that works great and without the problem with USLEEP. But I'm sure you already know that. :)

Link to comment

There are many mods out that do not depend on it, and it doesn't hurt if you use it, but there are mods that actually do need a patch, and there are looots of patches out there for these mods. Getting all the patches and fiddling around with my load order and all that stuff, maybe switching master scripts and stuff... I'm honestly afraid that I'll fuck up my Skyrim. I'm so happy that it works flawlessly. xD

Plus - and that is why I abandoned the USKP stuff in the first place - I do have a serious problem with the unofficial patches in Oblivion. I've never used them in the past, and then I thought: Well, let's give it a try, after all they promise improvements. I've installed the patches, activated them in the right order, and BOOOM, Oblivion didn't even want to start until I deactivated all of them again. :(

Anyway, thanks for the tips, but I think I can live with my spouse and all the elven girl followers with their sexy pointy ears running around in my gameworld. :D
