Sexlab not installing correctly in NMM

Recommended Posts

Whenever I try to install sexlab 161b on NMM it won't install past 93%, and I've tried to reinstall it multiple times, but to no avail. Is there any fix to this?

That's weird. I have no problem with it. Anyhow, before you install SL via NMM, uncheck "read only"  in Properties if it is enabled by mouse right click on the mod. If it's not the case, re-download SL and try again. I guarantie that installation of SL works with latest NMM and previous versions because I tested all my mods installation/uninstallation with every new NMM version.

Might be a bad download. See if you can extract it yourself using 7zip. If this also has a problem then it is a bad download and you need a fresh new copy.

Also since my friend above didn't state it... there is a thread that can help you with your NMM support issues. I can't help much more as I use Mod Organizer for my Skyrim mods.

Thanks for the promotion of my thread, ritual... :)

It isn't only promotion but advise as well. You aren't available 24/7 for support and if posting questions on your support thread a person can get quicker info and support as well as a likely hood of getting proper answers ;). As if someone post something wrong someone will come along later (quickly) and correct it ;). In time this thread will drop down as new threads get added and going to a very active support thread for NMM will likely keep it up and fresh. Finally there are many here that actively watch that thread as well and provide support. Nice way to get one's post count up by the way. :P

So, it is a benefit as well as a promotion. Win, Win.. :)

I'm not sure if the MO evangelists that feel the need to invade every single conversation about NMM do not realize that the constant preaching about the superiority of MO without a single logical argument has an opposite effect

To be honest, I don't even get why NMM is still being worked on. It's so much worse than MO in so many ways really and the latter is just as easy to use. Only looks a bit different.

I use MO for Fallout 3, Fallout NV and Skyrim. So I can speak on this subject. NMM is still being worked on because it supports way more games than MO does ;). It is a simple mod manager for those that don't wish to learn the processes. Click download, click install, Run LOOT. Click Start. Basically that. MO requires more of a learning curve. Even Gopher states that.

MO is a more powerful flexable tool however that is useless for someone that don't need or want this and only want to click and play. ;). So this is why NMM is still being worked on.

Blindly following and bashing something without points of reference and backing does indeed deter from convincing anyone that one is better than the other.

Also FYI. This isn't a MO vs NMM thread. It is a thread where someone asked for help to get their NMM up and running with Sexlab, nothing more.

The only thing we could call "superior" compared to NMM is virtual directories and that, at the same time, is the main reason why NMM is as bad as it is.

You were wrong installation
That is the correct answer
many world skyrim user used sexlab mod
They are still well-used without no problems
Of course, I'm well used
and  ....
do not u use mnm
This is more convenient to use mo...
But I put directly in the skyrim data folder

Virtual folders and Linked folders are different and just as valid. The reason why NMM might be stated as bad is they have essentially reworked the entire process adding many new features and changing almost everything it was before. This will take time to resolve these issues to be able to give a proper judgment.

Make no mistake, I prefer MO over NMM hands down for Skyrim. There is no doubt about it. That however is a preference based on how I want to handle my mods and work with my files. I prefer it over NMM's process. Neither is "better". I have said time and time again the best manager is one that manages your files properly and owrks for you. Many use NMM for Sexlab and other games as well and are quite satisfied. Gopher has used it for his tutorial and has loads of mod and in the videos had no problem (other than the known bugs I'd imagine).

You can have problems with both managers if you aren't paying attention or know what you are doing.

I had the same Problem.

Happened on my PC as Mod Manager crashed and then after i restart it, doesent matter if just now or a day later, or whenever.. then i had this problem that the NMM diddnt respond, even if i leave my PC running, or it installed and said "failed to install or was it an error occured?" and also your probem i had with sexlab.

My suggestion, it helped me, was... going into your Nexus Mod Manager Mod Folder, searching for the Sexlab Mod, and then cut it out, or delete it if you have a copy of the *.rar or *.zip file.

After that start NMM,

it should asks now for your permission to delete a mod it couldnt find, klick "yes".

After that, click the PLUS button in NMM ad load Sexlab into it, then it will move the Mod automaticially to its Folder.

Then like usual, install it!

Maybe it works, i had other mods to which made the same problems.

Also if i installed an mod, and later i wanted to uninstall it, then Nexus crashed, or diddnt respond.

Also it helps sometimes to wait a bit, if windows reports "...Program don't respond.." it doesent mean that this Program crashed.. then you wait and dont use STRG + ALT + DEL to open task manager.

Just if Windows tells you that an Error occoured and a Program has to be shut down, then.. its crashed. ^^

Open Mods folder of NMM,

Delete the MOD (Sexlab)

Start NMM,

click yes if it asks, click YES to delete a/the "Missing Mod/Mods",

then click the Green Plus and add it again to NMM,

- install.

Hope it helps...

Greetings,

- Khajiirah.
