Load order optimization

First of all, I am terrible at optimizing my load order and finding mod conflicts. Also, I use LOOT to help with the load order.

 

Now on to my issues. First of all is my framerate. In the 'wild' its not bad, at around 45 FPS. But in towns and cities it's terrible. In Whiterun for instance, in the market are my FPS drops to 7. Yes 7 FPS. I don't know if its a problem with scripts or what. I don't use any ENB's, so that's not the issue (I have no idea how people manage to run ENB's and play the game with LL mods). I also CTD occasionally, but I think that has to do with the heavy scripting or whatever is causing the stuttering.

 

My PC is pretty powerful, so that is not the issue. I have been fiddling around for 3 weeks now trying to do it by myself as not to bother everyone, but I give up with trying to do it myself. I consign myself to the experts.

A lot of things can contribute to a general decline in framerate. Having said that 7fps is a little extreme for that rig - I would expect ~30 under pressure.

 

When you say you don't use an ENB is it safe to assume you still have ENBoost installed? This is essential for stability.

 

Take a look at your papyrus log and see if there are a lot of errors. If there are it could point to a failing mod that's causing issues.

 

Town and city overhaul mods are notorious for tanking framerate.

 

Any mods that add additional NPCs to smaller areas like cities can cause issues due to the extra pathing calculations.

 

Lots of high resolution textures will impact performance. you may need to look for lower res options. You might also try optimising your textures.

 

Scripts are a potential problem. Mods that monitor nearby NPCs in any way can cause problems, thins includes Wet & Cold, Frostfall, Player Headtracking, Aroused / Aroused Redux, Aroused Creatures and many others.

 

One thing you can do is start methodically disabling sets of mods and using coc WhiterunOrigin to see the results. If there is an improvement start re-enabling until you find the one that causes the problem. It's a pain but sometimes that's what it takes to track down misbehaving mods.
