Description:
This mod replaces the hand and body normal maps for the male elder race to work with Schlongs of Skyrim (SOS). This is very much a work in progress and does not blend seamlessly at the wrists, pelvis and ankles. Its a little too soft as is, however it looks far better then the vanilla normal map that doesn't match up with the SOS body at all.

Ā

I plan to blend the hands and feet better down the road, but have some other mods that are going to take precedence in the meantime. I was also planning to do an alternate version that smooths some of the over-exaggerated wrinkles in areas. Old people can be wrinkly, but they are not sharpays.

Ā

You are welcome to improve the normal map further and publish. Just let me know so I can use it in game too.

Ā

Requirements:
Schlongs of Skyrim (SOS), Skyrim Script Extender (SKSE), SkyUI

Ā

Install:
Install requirements and "SOS Male Elder Race Normal Maps.zip" with a mod manager of your choosing (recommended) or extract "malebody_1_msn.dds" and "malehands_1_msn.dds" to your Skyrim "data\textures\actors\character\maleold" folder.

Ā

Uninstall:
Uninstall "SOS Male Elder Race Normal Maps.zip" with a mod manager of your choosing (recommended), or delete malebody_1_msn.dds" and "malehands_1_msn.dds" to your Skyrim "data\textures\actors\character\maleold" folder.

Ā

Downloading and trying this out now, it always bugged me how the Elders bodies looked with just SOS, you're a saint for trying to fix something most people never think of.Ā  ;)

Ā

Edit: I have custom SOS textures, and they look terrifying on elders.Ā  :sĀ I'm going to have to find them some acceptable textures. I'll post some pictures when I get the chance.

Ā

It was always on the back burner.Ā  Then I'd kill and loot the clothes off someone like Nepos and I'd think to myself, "I should really fix that normal map".Ā  So I finally got around to doing it a little while back.Ā  It's a little bit half-ass, yet better then the vanilla one, so I thought I'd share .Ā  I'll try to do a better edit down the road.Ā  There is only so much wrinkly old man ass I can take.Ā  I'm curious to see what it would look like with some different SOS textures.

Thank you for this.

It is one of the things that bugs me.

Not in to males but....

Hopefull you can get this in to SOS or Sexlab.

Ā

Thank you for checking it out.Ā  I hear ya, it really bugged me too.Ā  Ashal has my permission to include it in Sexlab.Ā  The may even motivate me to actually create a better version sooner.Ā

Well done, don't give up !

I have myself worked on generations of skyrim. (project code "Tamriel's Generations")
I shaped all ages for females (All based on UUNP for stability and armors compatibility) :

Elder slim to "normal" ( done , but I need all textures all races )Ā

All of them could be injected in everybody's different skyproc (nexus modĀ 51612 ) to create an immersive population of Tamriel

Ā

Plan to create a bash file to set the weight of all npc, that can be modified and applied in SkyUI.

If you want collaborate, someone who can handle SOS and/or SAM to complete the different ages (meshes and textures) for males, would be a great help.
If an advanced user could open a topic, I will be glad to share all I got with you fellas...

"When immersion lasts too long, it drowns..."

Ā

I remember when "Everybody's Different" came out on Nexus Mods.Ā  It looks really cool, I even checked out the specifics to install it, but didn't because of the SkyProc Patcher.Ā  I'm currently using Mod Organizer with 200+ mods and a bunch of different profiles for various setups.Ā  From what I understand they don't really play nice together.Ā  I previously tried to get MO working with Dual Sheath Redux and eventually just gave up as the SkyProc executable doesn't seem to recognize MO's virtual mod list.

Ā

I've actively been working towards a project along the same line.Ā  Only my plan was to overhaul all the races to use varying body and head (meshes / textures) types in conjunction with a high poly head mesh makeover of all the named NPCs.Ā  I was just going to stick to variations on the UUNP andĀ  SOS bodies.Ā  Using unique tint-masks and diffuse / normal maps to keep it diverse.Ā  Pretty much this was my grand idea to salvage my Vampire Races Extended mod and to do a complete NPC overhaul in one complete package.Ā  My vision for it is with an emphasis on realism while attempting to stay true to many of the vanilla characters.Ā  Mostly less blocky faces, more hair styles and better tint-masks.Ā  Unfortunately, that project got put on hold while I've been attempting to finish out and publish a bunch of my other Skyrim mods I've been putting off.Ā

Ā

On top of that, I've already started modding Fallout 4 (which I really shouldn't be doing) while still trying to get through my first play-through.Ā  So nothing is actually getting done right now.Ā  I knew it would be a problem for me, so I put off playing as long as I could.Ā  When I did finally cave, I was having a hard time getting it to run smoothly on my system.Ā  After a weeks or so of obsessive tweaking, I finally got it working on a medium-high setting with optimized textures, ENBSeries, Reshade and SweetFX at 30+ FPS.Ā  Not ideal graphically, but at least it is finally playable.Ā

Ā

I really need to finish what I've started, before taking on any more modding projects.Ā  Not finishing what I start is one of my worst traits and one am really striving to improve.Ā  I know myself pretty well and I don't think that it would be fair to you, to collaborate right now.Ā  I have myself on a fairly ridged schedule to finish out these mods. Ā  With that said, I will definitely keep you in mind for a collaboration once I clear my slate.Ā  Sounds like you know a good deal more then I do about the scripting side of Skyrim modding.

Hi, I've never made an old character in Skyrim before. How do I make a character to use this body? I've been trying old nord face presets but they use young bodies.

I was talking about NPC's since now.

For the player characterĀ you can try this mod (nexusĀ 21994), but maybe someone should tweak it a little to use textures fromĀ jtgibby .

Oh, sorry about that. I just used the textures and provided directed them to the PC's texture path on one of my profiles of MO... Sorry again Ā for the confusion, and thank you for providing this jtgibbyĀ  :)

I actually have never done a play-through with it, but in theory it should work.Ā  I'm not sure how certain NPCs will react to your race since it was never designed to be a playable race.

Thank you for the link.Ā  I'll have to give SkyProc another go when I have a minute.Ā  In the past I did run it in MO like in GamerPoets video, only in my case, I kept getting an error about a missing file.Ā  I don't think it was an esp, maybe it could have.Ā  My recollection is kind of fuzzy. Ā  It may have had something to do with my load order, or perhaps my Java wasn't up-to-date.Ā  I'll try it again with you mod and a fresh install of Java.
